Buying mistakes here are almost never brand mistakes. They are category mistakes: a company with a pipeline problem buying a simulation engine, or an O&M contractor buying a design suite because it was the first result.
Design and simulation turns a site into an engineered system: roof geometry, shading, string sizing, single line diagram, bill of quantities, yield. Cost band in the Philippines: PHP 0 to PHP 152,000 per seat per year.
Proposal and financial modelling turns that system into a document a customer signs. In this market that means valuing self-consumed and exported energy separately under RA 9513. Often bundled with design. Cost band: PHP 0 to PHP 152,000 per seat per year.
Monitoring watches the asset after commissioning. In the Philippines this is nearly always free, because the inverter vendors give it away to keep you on their hardware. Cost band: PHP 0, rising to PHP 300 to PHP 900 per site per year if you buy an independent platform.
CRM and sales pipeline tracks the human side: leads, quotes outstanding, follow-ups, referrals. Almost no Philippine installer buys a solar-specific CRM, and most use a general one. Cost band: PHP 12,000 to PHP 40,000 per user per year.

Four country facts change which tools are worth paying for.
RA 9513 asymmetry. Under the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 and the Energy Regulatory Commission’s net metering rules, self-consumed energy offsets the full retail tariff while exported energy earns only the distribution utility’s generation charge. An exported kilowatt-hour is worth roughly half a self-consumed one, and the cap is a hard 100 kW of installed capacity. Every financial layer in your stack has to encode that split, and most imported ones do not.
Very high tariffs. Philippine grid electricity is among the most expensive in Southeast Asia, with residential Meralco rates commonly above PHP 12 per kWh. The commercial effect is that payback is short enough to sell itself, so software that improves credibility (hourly modelling, downside scenarios, real monitoring data from your own installed base) returns more than software that improves polish.
Utility fragmentation. Meralco covers Metro Manila and much of southern Luzon with its own net metering application flow and distribution impact study. Visayan Electric, Davao Light and dozens of electric cooperatives run their own variants. No software vendor has automated this, so whichever stack you buy, the utility paperwork remains a human process.
Typhoons and tropical soiling. National Structural Code wind zones reach 250 kph basic wind speed in northern and eastern Luzon, and Metro Manila soiling losses commonly run 4 to 8 percent a year against a 2 percent default in most imported tools. Honest limitations. In the context of a full stack the gaps are specific and worth naming. SurgePV does no monitoring, so it tells you nothing about an asset once it is commissioned. It is not a CRM and has no lead pipeline, no follow-up automation and no Messenger or Viber integration, which is how Philippine residential sales actually runs. Who it suits. Any installer whose fleet is predominantly Huawei, and O&M contractors managing those assets.
Honest limitations. It monitors Huawei and effectively nothing else, so a mixed fleet means several portals open at once. Reporting exports are basic, the alarm logic generates noise on marginal sites, and there is no work order or field crew capability behind the alerts. It also creates a soft procurement lock: the better your operations get with FusionSolar, the harder it becomes to specify a different inverter next year.
3. SOLARMAN Business
What it does best. Multi-brand monitoring. SOLARMAN’s data loggers and portal sit behind a long list of inverter brands common in Philippine residential and small commercial work, including Deye, Solis, Growatt and several white-label hybrids. For an installer whose fleet grew brand by brand, one portal covering most of it is worth more than a technically superior single-brand tool.
Pricing. Free tier for basic plant monitoring, with paid business and portfolio tiers charged per plant.
Who it suits. Residential and small commercial installers with a mixed hardware history, which describes most Philippine installers who have been trading more than three years.
Honest limitations. Depth is shallower than the manufacturer portals: less granular diagnostics, coarser string-level data on some devices, and a data pipeline that depends on the logger staying online over a domestic internet connection. Support is remote and documentation is uneven. It reports problems, it does not help you fix them, so it needs a field operations layer beside it.
4. Sungrow iSolarCloud
What it does best. Commercial fleet monitoring for Sungrow string inverters, which are widely specified on Philippine C&I rooftops. Plant-level dashboards, alarm push, and export of generation data at intervals fine enough to reconcile against a distribution utility bill, which is the report a commercial client actually asks for at the annual review.
Pricing. Free with Sungrow hardware.
Who it suits. EPCs and O&M teams with Sungrow-heavy commercial portfolios.
Honest limitations. Single-brand, like FusionSolar. The interface is dense and takes training. Historical data granularity thins out over time on the free tier, which matters when a client disputes a performance guarantee two years later, so export and archive your own data rather than trusting the portal to keep it.

5. Odoo
What it does best. Odoo covers CRM, quotation, inventory, purchasing, field service and accounting as connected modules, and it is heavily used by Philippine SMEs with local implementation partners available. For an installer who also holds panel and inverter stock, that combination solves a problem no solar-specific tool addresses: knowing what is in the warehouse when the sales team promises a delivery date. The field service module issues work orders, tracks technician time and closes jobs against a customer record, which covers the fifth category properly.
Pricing. Odoo publishes its list prices on its own pricing page and prices them per country. The shape is a free single-app tier with unlimited users, then Standard and Custom tiers charged per user per month with a discount for annual billing. Take the current Philippine figure from Odoo rather than from a range on a comparison page. Implementation cost is separate and usually exceeds the licence in year one.
Who it suits. Installers past ten people who carry inventory, run their own crews, and are currently coordinating all of it in spreadsheets and group chats.
Honest limitations. It knows nothing about solar. No yield modelling, no shading, no net metering logic, no equipment intelligence beyond what you configure as products. Implementation is a real project, not a signup, and a half-configured Odoo is worse than the spreadsheet it replaced. Small teams should not attempt it.
6. QuickEstimate
What it does best. Solar-specific quotation and follow-up. Lead capture, quote generation, pipeline stages that match how a rooftop deal actually moves, and chat-based follow-up rather than email sequences. Philippine residential sales runs on Messenger and Viber, and a CRM that fights that behaviour goes unused.
Pricing. Around PHP 25,000 (US$435) per user per year.

Honest limitations. It does not design and it does not monitor. Its quotation is a commercial document rather than an engineering one, so it belongs beside a design engine, never instead of one. No RA 9513 export logic.
7. OpenSolar
What it does best. A free design and proposal core with real traction across Australia and Southeast Asia. For a new Philippine entrant testing whether solar sales works as a business, it removes the licence question entirely from year one.
Pricing. The core platform is free, and it genuinely is free rather than a trial. From 16 April 2026 OpenSolar begins charging for API Access on a per-project basis and for Connectors as a flat monthly fee. It has not published those rates and they vary by region, so budget for them by asking OpenSolar directly rather than from any number you read online, including from us.
Who it suits. Solo installers and new entrants in Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and the provincial markets.
Honest limitations. No RA 9513 export-credit logic, no Philippine utility library, and weak handling of the above-cap export-limited case that most commercial money sits in. On price it beats every paid tool on this page including ours, and the honest position is that a Philippine installer designing under the cap can run the design layer at zero licence cost. 8. Zoho CRM
What it does best. A cheap, configurable sales pipeline with strong presence and partner availability in the Philippines. Custom fields hold the things solar deals need (roof type, distribution utility, monthly bill, system size), automation chases stale quotes, and the mobile app works for a rep between site visits. At the entry tier it is the lowest-friction way to stop losing deals in a phone.
Pricing. Zoho publishes per-user list prices on its own pricing page and prices them per country. There is a free edition for up to three users, then Standard, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate, each per user per month with a discount for annual billing. Take the current Philippine figure from Zoho rather than from a range on a comparison page.
Who it suits. Sales teams of three or more who want pipeline discipline without a solar-specific product, and companies who already use other Zoho applications.
Honest limitations. It knows nothing about solar and never will. Every solar concept is a custom field you build and maintain. There is no quotation intelligence, no equipment database, no yield logic. Configuration effort is real, and an unconfigured Zoho is an expensive contact list.
9. Fulcrum
What it does best. Mobile field data collection built for crews with patchy connectivity, which describes most Philippine provincial sites. Custom commissioning checklists, geotagged photo capture, inspection forms, cleaning records and offline sync. For an O&M contractor this is the difference between a warranty claim you can evidence and one you cannot.
Pricing. Roughly PHP 35,000 per user per year depending on tier.
Who it suits. O&M contractors, EPCs with in-house maintenance teams, and anyone running preventive cleaning schedules across sites they cannot easily visit.
Honest limitations. It is a forms and workflow platform, not a solar product. No generation data, no performance analysis, no integration with inverter portals out of the box. You design every form yourself, and the quality of the output depends entirely on the quality of that design work. Small residential installers will not get value from it.
10. PVsyst
What it does best. The reference simulation engine. When a bank funding a Philippine commercial or utility-scale project asks for an independent yield opinion, the PVsyst loss diagram is the artefact they expect. Its soiling and thermal loss handling is transparent and adjustable, which matters in tropical conditions where every default is wrong.
Pricing. CHF 700 per user per year for the Professional licence, billed as an annual subscription rather than a perpetual licence, which is about PHP 50,000 at CHF 1 to PHP 72. Education is CHF 420 and group discounts of 5 to 20 percent apply by quantity. Five Professional seats are CHF 3,500, which is materially less than five SurgePV seats at US$6,495, so if bankable simulation is the only thing you need, PVsyst is the cheaper buy and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.
Who it suits. Independent engineers, technical due diligence teams, and EPCs whose term sheets name it.

Field operations stays on checklists and a group chat at this size, and that is a defensible choice. Total: about PHP 415,000 a year.

Monitoring and O&M Deserve More of Your Budget Than They Get
Philippine conditions punish neglected assets faster than most markets, and the software question follows from that.
Soiling in Metro Manila and the Calabarzon industrial corridor commonly costs 4 to 8 percent a year, concentrated in the February to May dry season and largely reset by the June to November rains. That seasonal shape is exactly what a monitoring platform reveals and a spreadsheet hides. A performance ratio that drifts down through March is a cleaning schedule problem, not an equipment problem, and telling those apart requires trend data. After a major storm an O&M team needs to know which of forty sites to visit first, and the answer comes from the monitoring portal rather than from phone calls. None of them, in the sense of filing the application for you. Meralco runs its own net metering flow, including a distribution impact study on larger connections, a specific single line diagram format, an inspection and a bidirectional meter swap, and no vendor has automated any of it. The better design tools produce a clean single line diagram, load schedule and equipment list that transfer into Meralco’s forms with modest editing. The filing itself stays manual.
