Subsidy slabs: pmsuryaghar.gov.in (MNRE), central scheme, the same in every state. Bill, roof-area and payback ranges are Heaven Green planning ranges and move with your tariff and generation.
What affects the quoted price
These are the factors, not prices. Your proposal puts a number on each one.
System size
The cost grows with the kW installed, while the subsidy is a fixed slab, so it covers a bigger share of a 3 kW quote than of a 10 kW one.
Roof type and structure
Flat RCC, sloped metal sheet and tin shed roofs are mounted differently. The survey checks the structure and any shadow.
Modules and inverter
Module and inverter choice sets price and warranty. For the subsidy, the modules must be DCR (Indian cells and modules) on the ALMM list.
Cabling, earthing and meter
The distance from roof to inverter to meter, plus earthing and protection hardware, differs from one house to the next.
GST
5% on solar systems since 22 September 2025. On a supply-and-install contract the whole invoice blends to about 8.9%. See the GST guide.
Financing
