Direct answer. Log in to the official PM Surya Ghar portal. Open your application and note its status, remarks and ID. Check whether it is waiting for feasibility, installation, inspection, commissioning or a subsidy claim. Then identify who must act and what is missing. A completed stage does not guarantee a payment date.

Gujarat process update, 30 October 2026. published DRES instrument, Notification 11 of 2026 retains the PM Surya Ghar waiver of a separate written connectivity agreement. Its process rules still require notice of the start date and surplus rate. Commencement depends on Gazette notification. The 2025 amendment below explains the earlier published rule. Confirm which instrument and workflow apply to the live account.

Where do you check the status safely?

Use the PM Surya Ghar portal, not a search ad or third-party status site. Sign in with the details used for the application. Open its tracking view. Note the application ID, consumer number, licensee, stage and remarks. Screens may change; these are the records to capture, not fixed 2026 button names. The MNRE national rooftop portal directs home applicants to PM Surya Ghar. Its official DISCOM directory can help identify the utility for the account.

First check that you opened the right electricity account. Match the name, address, state, DISCOM and service number to the latest bill. This matters if you have two meters or changed a service number. If no application appears, find the email or SMS receipt. Check which phone number was used. Ask official support whether the first case can be recovered before creating another.

Note the last update date and DISCOM remarks. A “pending” label alone does not tell you who must act. Feasibility may need a revised system size. Installation may need a vendor upload. A claim may need bank proof. The PM Surya Ghar portal-error guide separates login faults from missing or incorrect application details.

The MNRE residential CFA guidelines dated 7 June 2024, hosted by a government DISCOM, set out the roles of the consumer, vendor, DISCOM and payment bodies. A later MNRE notice for a July 2025 amendment confirms that the guidance changed. Check later official changes and the live portal instructions for an active case. An old tutorial may use status labels that no longer appear.

Use a Stage, Owner, Evidence Check. Identify the stage, name the party who can act, then attach the document that proves the step is complete. This is more useful than repeatedly asking for a general payment date.

The table is a tracking habit, not a list of permanent portal labels. The live portal and official messages are the source for an individual application.

What do the main application stages mean?

Register and submit the consumer and electricity details first. Save the receipt or case ID. The DISCOM then reviews technical feasibility unless that category has a waiver or simpler route. It checks the connection and solar size. “Technically feasible” lets the approved-size project proceed to the next steps. It does not show that installation is complete or that subsidy is sanctioned.

After feasibility, the consumer chooses a registered vendor under the scheme. The installer surveys the roof, agrees the equipment and completes the plant. The MNRE 7 June 2024 guidelines state that CFA claims under the programme require a vendor registered on the National Portal. The installer uploads required installation details and completion documents. A status at this stage may be waiting for the vendor even if the physical modules are already on the roof.

The DISCOM then handles inspection, meter work and commissioning under the relevant rules. Installation and commissioning are separate events. The utility must accept the connection and meter setup before the claim can proceed. The Gujarat commissioning guide explains the electrical handover. The how-to-apply guide covers the full application process.

Next, provide bank proof and complete any claim or e-token step shown by the live portal. MNRE’s 2024 guidelines require account details and proof that the consumer owns the account. They name a cancelled cheque, bank e-statement, passbook scan or another accepted electronic record. For a scheme loan, the guidelines allow transfer to the loan account under set conditions. “Commissioned” alone does not mean money has reached a personal savings account.

Technical feasibilityDISCOM, sometimes applicantApproval, capacity or deficiency comment
Installation detailsRegistered vendorAs-built and completion uploads
Inspection and meterDISCOM and vendorInspection and commissioning record
Claim and accountConsumer, then scheme agencyBank proof, e-token and payment status

These are process categories from official guidance, not a claim that the portal uses these exact words in every state or month.

Why can technical feasibility remain pending?

The DISCOM may check the name, sanctioned load, proposed size, service phase and network. A wrong name or service number can stop review before a roof visit. A plant above the connection limit may need a smaller size or more approved load. A transformer or service-line issue needs a written technical decision. Follow the official remark. Uploading the same bill again will not fix every problem.

Ask whether the status is simply awaiting DISCOM action or whether the applicant has a deficiency to correct. If a capacity reduction is requested, have the installer update the roof layout, equipment list and expected generation. Do not keep a quote for one size while the portal approval shows another. The sanctioned-load mismatch guide explains this specific issue, and the sanctioned-load glossary defines the bill term.

For a Gujarat connection, start with the GERC rooftop rules. Maharashtra and MP have their own rules and DISCOM steps. The national subsidy portal does not replace those checks. If you moved house, changed the meter, transferred the account or changed the proposed size, check both records. The portal and utility must show the same current details before the feasibility review can proceed.

For a written follow-up, include the application ID, service number, proposed capacity, submission date and exact portal remark. Ask the DISCOM which document or technical condition remains open. Keep the response. A general message saying “please approve my solar” is less useful because it does not identify the failed check.

If the application says “not feasible,” obtain the reason and ask whether a corrected capacity, network upgrade or another lawful route is available. Do not install and energise a system while assuming the rejection will be reversed later. The homeowner should keep the original decision and any revised approval, since the final plant must match the accepted route.

Feasibility check

Read the exact DISCOM remark. If capacity changes, update the quote, installation design and generation estimate before proceeding.

The best status record is the official approval for the final proposed capacity, not a screenshot showing an earlier request.

What if installation or inspection is shown as pending?

Check whether the work is complete and the vendor has uploaded the as-built details. Fitted panels alone do not complete the portal file. It may still need module serials, inverter details, photos, tests or a completion declaration. Ask the vendor what it uploaded and when. Compare that list with the portal remarks. The low generation diagnosis guide concerns operating systems. A pending commissioning case first needs its paperwork and safety steps resolved.

Inspection or accepted certification is a separate stage. The utility may need tests or meter checks before grid synchronisation. In Gujarat, the GERC Fifth Amendment dated 3 November 2025 binds a PM Surya Ghar consumer to the rooftop rules without a separate written connectivity agreement. The DISCOM must communicate the start date and surplus rate, with receipt recorded. Keep that notice to establish the billing start. It does not replace the portal’s subsidy-claim steps.

If an inspection is pending, check whether the vendor submitted the completion report to the correct DISCOM and whether the meter box, access and documents are ready. Avoid inventing a universal inspection timeline. The site may need a revisit if protection, wiring or approved capacity differs from the submission. The solar-permits Gujarat guide and CEA Safety Regulations, 2023 explain why electrical sign-off is more than a portal checkbox.

When the meter is installed, keep its serial number, opening import and export readings, inspection or commissioning report and first bill. If the portal remains at an earlier stage, ask which party must upload or confirm the commissioning evidence. The homeowner should not mark a process complete merely because the inverter shows generation.

If a vendor has changed mid-project, verify whether the portal still associates the application with the old vendor. The new vendor may need an official reassignment or accepted documents. Keep receipts and warranty papers independent of the portal login so a dispute about vendor responsibility does not erase the installation record.

The practical aim is to make three records agree: the installed system, the DISCOM’s approved meter connection and the portal’s completion data. Subsidy review depends on the recorded process, not the owner’s photograph of panels alone.

Why do bank details block the subsidy claim?

7 June 2024 residential CFA guidelines require the consumer’s bank details and proof of account ownership. Accepted examples include a cancelled cheque, bank e-statement or passbook scan. A filled-in field can still contain an unreadable file or the wrong name. Check the account number, IFSC, name and uploaded proof on the official portal. Do not rely on a message from an unknown intermediary.

The name on the electricity account, scheme application and bank record should be reviewed before the claim. A minor spelling variation may require an official correction or explanation; a different person’s account can be a substantive eligibility problem. The bank-account-not-linked guide covers troubleshooting in more detail. If the applicant has changed the electricity connection holder, resolve that through the DISCOM and portal rather than simply replacing a bank image.

Loan-funded systems need special care. The MNRE guidance says that when a consumer uses a linked loan product, CFA can be transferred to the loan account up to the outstanding amount, with any excess handled under the stated rule. A homeowner looking only at a savings account may conclude that subsidy is missing when it has been applied to a loan. Check the loan statement and portal payment record before filing a missing-payment complaint.

Do not share an OTP, password or full bank credentials with anyone offering to accelerate the subsidy. Use the official portal for entry and the bank’s official channel to verify account status. A vendor may help identify a missing document, but the consumer should control the sensitive bank information. Keep a dated copy of the proof submitted and the portal acknowledgement.

The scheme’s claim process includes DISCOM approval and processing by the programme agency. A status indicating that the claim is under review does not establish a payment date. The guidance describes process duties, but no outcome should be promised for an individual application. Ask which specific validation is still open.

What does claim approval mean before money reaches the account?

Claim approval and a bank credit are separate events. The case may pass a DISCOM check while the national programme still checks claim and transfer details. MNRE’s 7 June 2024 residential guidelines explain the roles of the DISCOM, National Portal and implementing agency. Read the exact stage and any transaction reference. The word “approved” alone does not prove that a transfer is complete.

If the portal shows a claim stage after commissioning, compare four records: the approved plant capacity, commissioning date, beneficiary bank details and any loan account. A mismatch among them can create a query even when the rooftop is operating normally. Ask which record is under review and who owns the correction. The vendor can supply installation evidence; the consumer must verify bank details; the DISCOM can confirm commissioning. Each party should respond within its own scope.

The homeowner should check the destination account directly through the bank’s official statement. If the system was financed through a linked loan, the guidance says the CFA may be applied to that loan account under specified conditions. A personal savings-account balance alone may therefore be the wrong place to look. Conversely, a portal status saying a transfer was initiated does not replace a bank credit entry. Retain the transaction reference and raise a tracing request through the official channel if the two records disagree.

A published processing period is not a personal payment date. The guidance includes an administrative processing provision after DISCOM approval. A live case may still need bank checks or other proof. Find the missing step in that case rather than counting down from a general period.

When contacting support, provide the application ID, claim or transaction reference, date of the last portal update and a concise description of the mismatch. Mask sensitive bank information unless the secure official portal asks for it. Ask whether the claim is awaiting approval, transfer initiation, bank acceptance or correction. Those are different failure points and require different evidence.

Bank evidence

Check the consumer name, account number, IFSC and proof of account ownership. If a loan was used, inspect the loan statement as well as the personal account.

The safest correction route is through the application login and official support, with no private details exposed in public posts or screenshots.

Who should act at each common stuck status?

Assign the issue to the party that controls the next step. A portal login error belongs with portal support. A wrong bill name or sanctioned load belongs with the applicant and DISCOM. A missing installation report belongs with the registered vendor. An inspection queue or meter decision belongs with the DISCOM. A bank-document deficiency belongs with the consumer. A processed claim with no visible credit may require the programme agency or bank to trace the transaction. This role map prevents a homeowner from waiting on the wrong person.

The official national rooftop portal grievance page distinguishes scheme questions from portal technical problems and lists official support channels. The DISCOM directory helps locate the named utility contact. Use the active PM Surya Ghar portal’s grievance function when available and retain the ticket ID. The rejection-reasons guide helps interpret a rejection remark, but the official reason in the live case must lead the correction.

For a good grievance, include application ID, consumer number, state, DISCOM, stage, last update date and the exact problem. Attach only the documents needed to establish that problem. For a bank issue, use the secure portal rather than emailing a full unmasked bank statement to a general address. For an installation issue, attach the vendor’s completion acknowledgement. For a meter issue, attach the DISCOM’s inspection or commissioning record.

If a vendor is unresponsive, ask it for a dated list of outstanding uploads and copy the relevant portal remark. If the portal says the DISCOM must act, contact the DISCOM’s rooftop solar desk with the same case ID. If the scheme claim has cleared DISCOM review but the payment is not recorded, raise a claim-specific ticket through the official scheme support. A single written timeline of events is more effective than multiple unconnected complaints.

Do not promise a response in a fixed number of hours or days. The issue may require a document correction, site visit or bank reconciliation. Track the ticket and follow the portal’s published escalation route. If an earlier complaint is closed without a correction, reference that ticket in the next one.

The table is a triage guide. The live portal remark can override a general assumption about ownership of a step.

How can you avoid a repeat rejection after a correction?

Make one controlled correction at a time. If the issue is a name mismatch, decide which official record is wrong and update it through the responsible authority. If the issue is system capacity, revise the quote, design and portal submission together. If the issue is a missing bank document, upload a clear accepted proof showing the beneficiary’s name and account number. Retain the old and new acknowledgement so the correction can be traced.

The PM Surya Ghar rejection guide lists broad causes. The joint-property NOC guide covers roof consent, while the sanctioned-load mismatch guide covers load data. These are distinct problems. A co-owner NOC will not fix a transformer constraint, and a larger inverter will not fix a bank-name mismatch.

Ask the vendor to show the final module and inverter details recorded in the portal. If equipment was substituted during installation, the as-built documents should reflect the actual hardware. The DISCOM should inspect or accept the plant that exists, not an earlier quotation. Keep the invoice and tests consistent with the portal record. A claim may be delayed when serials, capacity or vendor data disagree across documents.

After resubmitting, record the new status and last-update date. A portal may not immediately display a completed downstream stage. Ask the responsible party whether the correction has been accepted and whether any further action is required. Avoid repeatedly uploading a different document without understanding the stated deficiency; that can create conflicting versions.

If the case is rejected as ineligible, ask for the rule and facts used. A household should not infer eligibility from a neighbour’s approval. Residential connection status, applicant identity, prior subsidy history and scheme-compliant equipment can matter. The MNRE guidelines are the official starting point, with later amendments and the live portal instructions controlling the current process.

The goal of correction is a clean audit trail from application to bank claim. A single aligned record is easier for a reviewer to approve and for the homeowner to understand later.

Get a home application reviewed: Bring the application ID, latest bill and exact portal remark to the residential solar enquiry. Ask which document or utility stage needs action before making another submission.

How Heaven Green Energy helps organize a Home Case

For a new or stalled case, bring the latest bill, applicant ID details and portal receipt. Add the vendor’s name, proposed and approved size, and the exact status remark. If installed, add the commissioning record. Keep bank records in the official secure channel. Heaven Green Energy files PM Surya Ghar and DISCOM paperwork for its customers. Keep your own copies of approvals and the portal’s tracking and grievance records.

The relevant routes are:

The first review should identify the stage and responsible party, then compare the portal record with the bill, installed plant and bank evidence. If the project has not been installed, focus on feasibility and roof readiness. If it has been installed, focus on completion uploads, inspection, meter and claim. Do not interpret a payment stage before confirming the DISCOM commissioning record and beneficiary account details.

Use this sequence:

  1. Log in officially. Record application ID, stage, remark and update date.
  2. Match the bill. Verify consumer, service number and DISCOM.
  3. Name the owner. Identify applicant, vendor, DISCOM or scheme agency.
  4. Collect evidence. Use the document relevant to that stage.
  5. Correct once. Keep acknowledgement of the revised submission.
  6. Track the ticket. Escalate through official channels if the issue remains.

The residential solar route is the home enquiry path. A useful review narrows the problem to one stage and one next action rather than promising a payment date.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check my PM Surya Ghar subsidy status?

Sign in to the official PM Surya Ghar portal with the registered account, open the application tracking details and record the stage, remarks, application ID and last-update date. Compare the consumer and DISCOM with the electricity bill. Use the portal’s live wording because screens and status labels can change.

Does “technically feasible” mean subsidy is approved?

No. Feasibility addresses the proposed connection and capacity. Installation, vendor uploads, DISCOM inspection or commissioning, account evidence and claim processing remain separate steps. Keep the feasibility letter, but do not treat it as a payment authorization.

Why does my status still say installation pending after panels are fitted?

The vendor may still need to upload the as-built equipment and completion report, or the DISCOM may need to accept the installation. Ask for the portal acknowledgement of the submitted documents. A photograph of panels does not complete the utility or scheme record.

What if the bank account is not linked?

Check the consumer name, account number, IFSC and accepted proof of account ownership in the official portal. If a scheme loan was used, inspect the loan account too. Do not send credentials or OTPs to anyone claiming to release the payment. Use the official correction route.

Who do I contact when inspection is pending?

First confirm the vendor has uploaded the completion and test records. Then contact the named DISCOM with application ID and the portal’s exact remark. Ask which inspection or meter step remains open and retain the written response. No universal day count applies to every site.

Can I file a grievance for a stuck subsidy claim?

Yes, use the official portal grievance route or the official scheme and DISCOM contacts. Include application ID, consumer number, stage, last update and supporting evidence. Keep the ticket ID. For a portal login failure, use portal IT support; for a technical meter issue, use the DISCOM route.

The answers describe process stages rather than permanent portal labels. An active case should follow the latest official remark and any later MNRE amendment.
