The short answer

Rooftop solar in Nashik costs roughly ₹58,000 to ₹80,000 per kW before subsidy. A 3 kW system runs about ₹1.85 lakh to ₹2.32 lakh, falling to ₹1.07 lakh to ₹1.54 lakh after the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy. Each kW yields 4 to 4.3 units a day here. MSEDCL, trading as Mahavitaran, handles Nashik net metering. Payback lands between three and a half and five years.

Price, size and savings

Find your bill. Read across.

Most Nashik solar pages quote a national average or hide the number behind a callback form. This table answers the whole question in one place. Find your monthly bill in the left column, then read across for system size, monthly units, the shadow-free roof it needs and what it costs once the subsidy lands.

Indicative Nashik market ranges, 2026

Indicative Nashik market ranges for 2026, covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, galvanised structure, protection and installation. These are not a Heaven Green quotation. Subsidy amounts are the central PM Surya Ghar figures published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shadow-free, roughly south-facing roof.

The 3 kW cliff decides your economics. The scheme pays nothing above 3 kW, so the subsidy covers 34 to 42% of a 3 kW system but only 12 to 15% of a 10 kW one. If your bill sits on the border between 3 kW and 5 kW, the smaller system returns more per rupee spent. Size against the units printed on your MSEDCL bill, not the amount, because units are what an array actually cancels.

A cheap Nashik quote is cheap in the steel, not the glass. Galvanising thickness, cable gauge, earthing and surge protection separate the bottom of each band from the top. Ask for a written Bill of Materials naming make, model and quantity for every line. Without one you are comparing two numbers, not two systems.

Nashik-specific warning: watch the wind loading on open plots. Roofs on the Dindori, Trimbak and Pathardi edges of the city sit exposed with nothing upwind of them. A light structure that passes on a sheltered Panchavati terrace will lift there. Ask for the wind-speed figure the structural design assumed, in writing, before you pay an advance.

Why there is no rupee saving in that table

There is no rupee saving in that table on purpose. What you save depends on the slab rate you personally pay, and MSEDCL residential slabs step up sharply as consumption rises. An 800-unit household therefore saves far more per unit than a 200-unit one. Bring your last bill to the free survey and we will work your exact figure out in front of you, on your tariff. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

₹78,000

Maximum central subsidy for a residential rooftop system.

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
  • Nothing paid above 3 kW
  • Credited directly to your bank account
  • We file the entire claim for you
How the subsidy works

Five steps, and we run four of them.

PM Surya Ghar is a central scheme, so the amount is identical in Nashik, Nagpur and Chennai. Anyone advertising a larger "Nashik subsidy" is describing something that does not exist. What changes by city is who processes your file, and here that is MSEDCL.

1

Register on the National Portal

You register at pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your MSEDCL consumer number, mobile, Aadhaar and address. We sit with you for it. A consumer number that does not match Mahavitaran's records is the commonest reason a Nashik application stalls before it starts.

2

Apply for feasibility, then pick your vendor

MSEDCL checks the application against your sanctioned load and the distribution transformer feeding your street. You then choose an empanelled vendor. Heaven Green Energy is empanelled, so we map straight onto your application without a second registration.

3

Install only after approval

Installing before feasibility clears puts the whole subsidy at risk, and no vendor can undo that later. Once approved we supply Adani modules with traceable serial numbers, and hand you a Bill of Materials plus the warranty schedule on commissioning day.

4

Inspection and net meter

MSEDCL inspects the installation, fits the bidirectional meter and issues the commissioning certificate on the portal. Our engineer attends the inspection so queries are settled on the roof instead of over a fortnight of email.

5

Claim and credit

We file the claim as soon as the commissioning certificate issues, using the bank details you entered on the portal. Government credits the money straight to your account. It never passes through us, so treat any Nashik vendor offering to collect it for you as a warning sign.

If you are a business, this section does not apply

PM Surya Ghar covers residential consumers only. A Nashik winery, cold store, MIDC unit, clinic or shop cannot claim it. Businesses claim accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, which for a taxpaying entity often returns more than the residential subsidy would ever have paid.

MSEDCL (Mahavitaran)

Net metering: who you actually file with.

Net metering is where rival Nashik pages go wrong, and naming the wrong licensee costs you every export credit you were counting on.

Nashik is supplied by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), which trades as Mahavitaran. MSEDCL distributes power across the whole of Maharashtra apart from parts of Mumbai. Nashik Zone is one of its zonal offices, covering the city, Nashik Road and the surrounding rural circles. This matters because Mumbai has three separate licensees of its own: Adani Electricity Mumbai, Tata Power and BEST. A page telling you to apply through an Adani or Tata Power portal has pointed a Nashik consumer at a utility that does not serve the city.

Commercial terms come from the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC), not from the discom and not from us. Under the MERC Grid Interactive Rooftop Renewable Energy Generating Systems Regulations, 2019, your system is capped at your sanctioned load in kW or contract demand in kVA. It must also sit within 70% of the local distribution transformer capacity. Every consumer category may apply, residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and housing-society common loads alike.

Consumers carrying arrears with MSEDCL are not eligible until the dues clear. Exported units are credited against consumption on the same connection and carried forward through the settlement year, which is why an oversized array on a small sanctioned load helps nobody.

1

Application

Consumer details, sanctioned load, system rating, the single-line diagram and equipment datasheets go to MSEDCL through the Mahavitaran rooftop portal, under your consumer number.

Filed by us
2

Technical feasibility

Mahavitaran tests whether your sanctioned load and the local transformer carry the proposed capacity. Oversized systems fail here, which is why we size against sanctioned load on the first visit.

MSEDCL
3

Installation and inspection

We install to the approved drawing. MSEDCL then inspects earthing, protection, isolation and metering compliance before anything is energised, and our engineer attends the visit.

Us, then MSEDCL
4

Bidirectional meter

Your existing meter is swapped for a bidirectional net meter and the commissioning certificate issues. Export credits start from that date, not from the day the panels went up.

Not a home?

Solar for Nashik's businesses.

Running a winery, a cold store, a press shop or a clinic rather than a home? The economics differ, and this page is written for homeowners.

Businesses in Satpur MIDC, Ambad MIDC, Sinnar MIDC, Igatpuri, Dindori and the Vinchur wine park get no PM Surya Ghar subsidy. They claim accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, which for a taxpaying business usually beats the residential route, and they can avoid capital outlay altogether through OPEX or RESCO models.

We deliver turnkey commercial and industrial EPC across the Nashik belt, with structural design to wind-load standards, MSEDCL registration, HT metering coordination and long-term O&M. Nashik has an unusually good load profile for solar, because so much of its demand is refrigeration that runs while the sun is up.

  • Wineries and grape cold stores around Vinchur, Dindori and Niphad draw their heaviest chilling load through the day. A large share of generation is therefore consumed on site rather than exported.
  • Auto-component and engineering units in Satpur and Ambad have long shed spans, which suits 100 kW upwards without terrace clutter.
  • Pharma and electronics plants in Ambad run cleanroom HVAC on a flat daytime curve, the easiest commercial profile to offset.
Why us

Why Nashik customers choose Heaven Green Energy

We have built solar since 2017 and delivered more than 10,000 installations across India, from single terraces to industrial plants running into hundreds of kilowatts.

Authorised Adani Solar distributorGenuine Adani modules, traceable serial numbers and the full manufacturer warranty registered in your name. No grey-market stock, and no throwaway brand that has vanished by year eight when a performance claim finally matters.
We build our own invertersQbits is our in-house inverter brand. Service on the component most likely to need it within fifteen years runs through us directly, not through an importer's ticket queue and a spare part waiting on customs.
The paperwork is our jobPortal registration, vendor mapping, MSEDCL feasibility, the net-metering file, inspection attendance and the subsidy claim all sit with our team. Your job is to sign documents, attend the survey and keep your bills handy.
Industrial work, not just terracesCold stores, wineries and MIDC sheds need load-profile analysis, wind-load structural design and HT metering coordination. We do that work in-house, so a Nashik business gets the same team that handles the houses.

Where we are based

Heaven Green Energy is headquartered at Mota Varachha, Surat. We serve Nashik and the wider North Maharashtra region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They run the surveys, supervise installation and handle MSEDCL coordination on the ground. There is no Heaven Green branch office in Nashik, and we say so before you sign rather than after.

How we work

From first call to a spinning net meter.

Four steps to a spinning net meter, including the parts that belong to MSEDCL rather than to us.

01

Free site survey

We measure shadow-free area, check slab and parapet condition, and read your sanctioned load and twelve months of MSEDCL consumption. We also log shading from tanks, lift rooms and neighbouring buildings through the day.

Day 1–2
02

Written proposal

System size, module layout, a Bill of Materials with makes and models, generation modelled at Nashik irradiance, your subsidy and your payback. Nothing to pay, and the document is yours to compare against any rival quote.

Day 3–5
03

Applications and installation

We file with the national portal and with MSEDCL, then install once feasibility clears. A typical Nashik residential terrace takes two to four working days, including structure, DC wiring, earthing and inverter commissioning.

Day 5–15
04

Inspection, meter, subsidy

MSEDCL inspects the installation, replaces your meter with a bidirectional one and issues the commissioning certificate. We then file your subsidy claim and government pays it into your bank account.

What Nashik weather does to a solar system

Nashik sits on high ground below the Sahyadri crest, several hundred metres above the plains, and that shows up in the engineering. Three local conditions change what a system needs, and a vendor who ignores them quotes you less and delivers less.

Heavy, concentrated monsoon rain

Most of Nashik's rain falls between June and September, with July and August the wettest months by a long way. The western talukas towards Igatpuri and Trimbak catch far more than the city itself. That is a water-ingress problem before it is a light problem. Junction boxes, DC cable glands and conduit entries decide whether an array survives ten monsoons. Insist on properly rated enclosures, downward-facing glands and cable runs that never sit in standing water.

Cooler summers than the Vidarbha belt, and that helps

April and May are hot here, with highs above 35°C, but Nashik's elevation keeps it below the 45°C-plus stretches that Nagpur and Akola see every May. Module output falls as cell temperature rises, so a cooler summer is quietly worth real units. Do not throw that advantage away with a structure bolted flush to the slab. Keep proper clearance under the modules so air moves and heat escapes.

Dry-season dust and agricultural soiling

From November to May Nashik is dry and clear, which is when most of your annual generation is earned. It is also when soiling costs you most. Highway dust along the Mumbai-Agra corridor, cement dust from construction on the Pathardi and Dindori fringes, and field dust off harvested grape and onion land all settle on glass. Soiling is invisible from ground level. Plan cleaning every two to three weeks through that window. Our AMC covers it.

Questions

Solar in Nashik: every question answered.

17 questions Nashik buyers actually search for, including the ones competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.

Cost & subsidy

What is the price of a 3 kW solar system in Nashik?
About ₹1.85 lakh to ₹2.32 lakh installed, before subsidy. After the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy you pay roughly ₹1.07 lakh to ₹1.54 lakh. The range reflects module tier, inverter brand and structure quality, not a negotiating margin. Ask for the split between modules, inverter and balance of system.
How much solar subsidy will I get in Nashik?
Up to ₹78,000. The scheme pays ₹30,000 per kW for the first two kW and ₹18,000 for the third, then nothing above 3 kW. It is a central scheme, so Nashik gets exactly what every other Indian city gets. Money reaches your bank after MSEDCL issues the commissioning certificate.
Is solar cheaper in Nashik than in Mumbai or Pune?
Usually a little, yes. Metro projects carry access, crane and society compliance costs that a Nashik bungalow or MIDC shed does not. The gap is a few percent of system cost, not a different order of price. Nashik's open plots and low-rise stock make installation simpler.
Can my Nashik shop or MIDC unit claim the subsidy?
No. PM Surya Ghar is residential only, so a Satpur or Ambad unit, a winery, a cold store or a shop cannot claim it. Businesses claim accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, and for a taxpaying entity that often returns more than the residential subsidy would.

Net metering & DISCOM

Which electricity company handles solar net metering in Nashik?
MSEDCL, trading as Mahavitaran, is Nashik's distribution licensee. Applications go through the Mahavitaran rooftop portal under your consumer number. Adani Electricity, Tata Power and BEST are Mumbai licensees and have no role here. Check any page that tells you otherwise before trusting its prices.
How big a system can MSEDCL approve for my Nashik house?
Up to your sanctioned load in kW, under the MERC Grid Interactive Rooftop Regulations 2019. The system must also fit within 70% of your distribution transformer's capacity. If you want more, apply to raise sanctioned load first, because that is a separate MSEDCL process.
What happens to the units I export to Mahavitaran?
They are credited against consumption on the same connection and carried forward through the settlement year, under the MERC framework. Credits start from the date the bidirectional meter is commissioned, not from the day panels were installed. Consumers with arrears are not eligible until dues clear.
How long does MSEDCL net metering take in Nashik?
Feasibility and the net meter are MSEDCL's timelines, not ours, and they move faster when the file is complete on day one. We submit the single-line diagram, datasheets and load details together, then attend the inspection so questions are answered on site rather than by email.

Sizing & performance

How many units will a solar system generate in Nashik?
About 4 to 4.3 units per kW per day as an annual average, on a shadow-free roof, which works out near 5 peak sun hours. Output runs high from November to May and drops through the monsoon. Size on your annual units, not on a good month.
What size system suits a Nashik bill of ₹4,000 a month?
A 5 kW system is the usual answer for that band, needing roughly 500 sq ft of shadow-free roof. Confirm it against the units on your bill rather than the rupee figure, because MSEDCL slab rates differ and two ₹4,000 bills can mean very different consumption.
Does the Nashik monsoon make solar a bad idea?
No, it reduces output for about four months and the rest of the year makes up for it. The annual figures quoted here already include the monsoon. Rain also rinses the glass, which is why soiling costs you more in the dry season than in July.
Does Nashik's cooler climate help generation?
Yes, modestly. Modules lose output as cell temperature climbs, and Nashik's elevation keeps May peaks below the levels reached in the Vidarbha plains. The gain only shows up if the structure allows airflow beneath the array, so do not accept modules bolted flush to the slab.

Installation & service

How long does installation take in Nashik?
Two to four working days on a typical residential terrace, covering structure, DC wiring, earthing and inverter commissioning. The longer part of the calendar is MSEDCL feasibility and the net meter, which we file early precisely because they sit outside our control.
Who cleans the panels, and how often?
You or our AMC team. Through the dry months, from November to May, plan a clean every two to three weeks, more often near the Mumbai-Agra highway or active construction. Use water and a soft brush in the early morning. Never wash hot glass at midday.
Do you install on wineries and cold stores around Nashik?
Yes. Refrigeration load runs while the sun is up, so a large share of generation is used on site rather than exported, which is the best case for commercial solar. These projects need load-profile analysis, wind-load structural design and HT metering coordination, all of which we handle.

About Heaven Green

Do you have an office in Nashik?
No. Heaven Green Energy is headquartered at Mota Varachha, Surat, and serves Nashik through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They run surveys, supervise installation and handle MSEDCL coordination here. We state that before you sign rather than after.
What equipment do you use?
Adani Solar modules, as an authorised distributor, with traceable serial numbers and the manufacturer warranty registered in your name. Inverters are Qbits, our in-house brand, so service runs through us directly instead of an importer. Both appear by make and model on your Bill of Materials.
