The short answer

In Vyara a 3 kW rooftop solar system costs roughly ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh before subsidy. After the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar credit, it falls to ₹1.02 lakh to ₹1.47 lakh. Averaged across the year, each kW produces 4 to 4.5 units a day even after the Tapi monsoon. Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL) supplies Vyara and handles net metering through its Vyara division. Most homes recover the cost in three and a half to five years.

All figures are indicative 2026 market ranges for Vyara, covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, a hot-dip galvanised structure, protection gear and installation. They are not a Heaven Green quotation, and your survey sets the final price. Subsidy amounts are the central PM Surya Ghar values published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shade-free roof facing roughly south. GST on rooftop solar systems has been 5% on the equipment since 22 Sep 2025. A supply-and-install contract taxes 30% of the value as installation service at 18%, so the blended rate on a typical quote is about 8.9%.

Read the units, then the sanctioned load. Your DGVCL bill prints the units you consumed and the kilowatt load sanctioned on your connection. Those two lines decide the size. The rupee total swings with slab and fuel surcharge, so it is a poor guide on its own. If the load is lower than the array you want, a load enhancement request goes to DGVCL before anything else.

Trees are the Vyara shading problem. This is a green town in a district with large forest cover, and mango, neem and coconut trees often stand right beside the house. A canopy that covers the roof from three in the afternoon removes far more yield than its size suggests. Our survey marks every tree and parapet on a sun path before a panel layout is drawn, and we tell you plainly if a branch needs trimming.

The subsidy curve flattens at 3 kW. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 for each of the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, then stops. On a 3 kW system it covers about a third of the cost, on a 10 kW system well under a sixth. A household that sits between two sizes usually gets a better return per rupee from 3 kW.

Compare the steel and the wiring, not only the panel. Four wet months test galvanising thickness, clamp quality, cable glands and earthing harder than any other part of the job. Insist on a written Bill of Materials naming make, model and quantity for each item. Two quotes without that sheet cannot be compared fairly.

Why there is no rupee saving in that table

The table leaves out a rupee saving figure on purpose. What a solar unit is worth to you depends on the slab you are billed at. A domestic connection near Vyara Fort is charged differently from a commercial meter on Station Road or a farm pump in Paniyari. At the free survey we take your own DGVCL bill and calculate the monthly saving against your slab, line by line. That way the number you get is yours rather than an average. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

₹78,000

Maximum central subsidy for a residential rooftop system.

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
  • Nothing paid above 3 kW
  • Credited directly to your bank account
  • We file the entire claim for you
How the subsidy works

Five steps, and we run four of them.

Vyara gets no special subsidy of its own and Gujarat adds no top-up to the central scheme. PM Surya Ghar pays the same ₹78,000 maximum in Tapi as in any other district of India. The local part is the utility: in Vyara your file is checked and closed by DGVCL.

1

Register with your DGVCL consumer number

Registration happens on pmsuryaghar.gov.in using the consumer number printed on your DGVCL bill, plus your mobile, Aadhaar and address. We help you enter it, because a name or number that does not match DGVCL's records holds the file up for weeks.

2

Feasibility from DGVCL, then pick the vendor

DGVCL checks your sanctioned load and the transformer serving your lane, then clears technical feasibility. You choose an empanelled vendor on the portal. Heaven Green Energy is on that list, so the application links to us directly.

3

Wait for approval before any panel goes up

Anything installed before feasibility is approved can lose the subsidy outright. Once clearance arrives we deliver Adani modules with traceable serial numbers, and you receive the Bill of Materials and warranty papers on the day of commissioning.

4

DGVCL inspection and the new meter

A DGVCL engineer inspects the system and the office fits a bidirectional meter. That inspection produces the commissioning record on the portal. Our engineer is present on the roof so any query is closed there and then.

5

Claim filed, money paid to you

We submit the claim as soon as commissioning shows on the portal. The central government pays the subsidy straight into your bank account, never into ours. A vendor who asks to receive the subsidy on your behalf is a vendor to avoid.

If you are a business, this section does not apply

PM Surya Ghar applies to residential connections only. A clinic, a shop, a school trust or a processing unit in Vyara cannot claim it, and neither can an agricultural pump connection. Businesses claim accelerated depreciation instead, and farm pumps fall under PM-KUSUM, which is covered further down this page.

DGVCL (Dakshin Gujarat Vij)

Net metering: who you actually file with.

Vyara sits squarely inside DGVCL's licence area, and that fact shapes every form you will sign. Here is who does what.

Electricity in Vyara is distributed by Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL), the GUVNL subsidiary responsible for South Gujarat. Its licence covers Bharuch, Narmada, Surat (except the part of Surat city served by Torrent Power), Tapi, the Dangs, Navsari and Valsad. Tapi district was carved out of Surat district in 2007 with Vyara as its headquarters. The power supply never changed hands: it was DGVCL before and it is DGVCL now.

The Tapi district administration lists the DGVCL office at Kanpura, Vyara 394650, on the old national highway side of town, and DGVCL runs a Vyara division for the area. Your application is processed by the local DGVCL sub-division office that serves your connection. Torrent Power does not supply Vyara, and neither do MGVCL, UGVCL or PGVCL. A net-metering form addressed to any of them has gone to the wrong company.

The rules themselves come from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC). Under its rooftop framework every consumer category may apply and system capacity is capped against your sanctioned load. Exported units are set off against imported units in the billing cycle instead of being paid out as cash. Units your roof sends to the grid on a bright October afternoon cover what the house draws at night.

1

File with the sub-division

Consumer details, sanctioned load, system rating, single-line diagram and a roof layout are submitted to the DGVCL sub-division serving your connection, along with the registration fee.

Solar for Vyara's businesses.

Vyara is a district headquarters, so its larger connections are hospitals, offices, schools, traders and the farm economy around it rather than heavy industry.

As the seat of Tapi district, Vyara draws patients, students and shoppers from across a district where scheduled tribes make up more than four-fifths of the population. That shows in the connections we are asked about: private hospitals and nursing homes running ACs and equipment all day, coaching classes and schools. Hotels and wholesale shops around the Old Bus Stand and Station Road ask too, as do petrol and CNG stations on the highway side near Kanpura. Daytime load lines up well with solar generation, which is what makes these buildings strong candidates.

Agriculture is the other half of the Vyara economy. Tapi's plains are heavy black soil under paddy and sugarcane, with banana and mango orchards alongside. Navsari Agricultural University runs its Regional Rice Research Station and Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Vyara. The cooperative sugar mill, Shri Ukai Pradesh Sahakari Khand Udyog Mandli, stands at Khushalpura, about 3 km from town. If you run a rice mill, a cold room or a produce business on a commercial connection, its daytime load is worth examining.

None of these businesses can claim PM Surya Ghar. They can claim accelerated depreciation on the solar asset, which for a profitable taxpayer often outweighs the residential subsidy. They can also pair it with a zero down payment structure that keeps the instalment at or below the bill the plant removes.

  • Sheet and sloped roofs need a structural check and a wind-load design before a rating is quoted.
  • Capacity is capped against sanctioned load, so a load enhancement may need to come first.
  • Farm pumps are a separate matter: see PM-KUSUM solar pumps and our Gujarat KUSUM and GEDA guide.

Farmhouses and farm connections. Gujarat's Jyotigram Yojana separated agricultural feeders from village feeders, so the pump on your field and the house beside it are normally two different connections. Rooftop solar on the farmhouse goes through PM Surya Ghar if that connection is domestic. A solar pump for the borewell or the canal-side lift is a KUSUM question. We will tell you which applies before quoting anything.

Why us

Why Vyara households pick Heaven Green Energy

We have installed solar since 2017 and passed 10,000 installations in Gujarat. Years in business prove little by themselves, so this is what they mean for a Vyara customer in practice.

DGVCL paperwork stays with usPortal entries, the sub-division application, feasibility follow-up, test reports and the inspection visit are handled by our team. You do not have to learn DGVCL's forms or make repeated trips to Kanpura.
Adani panels and Qbits invertersWe are an authorised channel partner of Adani and install only Adani modules. Inverters are Qbits, our group's own brand. Every serial number is recorded, so a warranty claim has a clear owner.
Engineering for the monsoonSealed entries, rated junction boxes, surge protection and tested earthing are written into the design. Those are the parts that decide whether a Tapi system is still clean and safe after ten wet seasons.
Free survey, no money upfrontAn engineer walks the roof, maps tree shade, checks the slab or sheet and reads your bill before giving any figure. You pay nothing to begin.

Where we are based

Heaven Green Energy has one office, at Mota Varachha in Surat, about 65 km from Vyara. We serve Vyara and the wider South Gujarat region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They carry out the surveys, supervise installation and handle DGVCL coordination on the ground. We have no branch, address or local phone number in Vyara, and we would rather you know that before you sign.

How we work

From first call to a spinning net meter.

From the first phone call to the first export credit on your DGVCL bill there are four stages. These timelines are typical for Vyara, not guarantees.

01

Bill check by phone

We take units, tariff category and sanctioned load off your DGVCL bill and give you a likely size and price band before anyone drives out from Surat.

Same day
02

Roof survey

An engineer measures shade-free area, maps trees and water tanks, checks whether the roof is RCC slab, tile or sheet, and fixes a dry, ventilated spot for the inverter.

2–4 days
03

Approvals

Portal registration, the DGVCL application and feasibility. The sub-division's workload sets the pace, and we keep you informed while we wait.

2–5 weeks
04

Build, inspect, switch on

Structure, modules, inverter, earthing and protection are installed, then DGVCL inspects and changes the meter. During the monsoon we schedule roof work around dry spells.

2–4 days on site

How Vyara weather treats a solar system

Vyara is inland, about 65 km from Surat, so it escapes the salt air of the Navsari and Valsad coast. What it does get is a long, very wet monsoon and humid heat around it. Generation from October to May is excellent. The wet season is what the hardware must be designed to survive.

Around 1,500 mm of rain in under four months

The agriculture contingency plan for Tapi district, prepared by Navsari Agricultural University, gives a normal of 1,536 mm a year over about 58 rainy days. The rains start in the third week of June and end in the fourth week of September. That is constant wetting for every joint on the roof. We seal roof penetrations, fit DC junction boxes with a real ingress rating and route cables so water drains away from connectors.

Lower output in July and August, and why that is fine

Cloud cover drops generation through the core monsoon months, and a good design accounts for it. The 4 to 4.5 units per kW we quote is a twelve-month average with those weeks already inside it. Bright, clean post-monsoon months make up the gap, and net metering banks surplus units against the bills you pay in cloudy weeks.

Damp, green surroundings and monsoon storms

Humidity stays high from June into autumn and the town is full of trees. Leaf litter, bird droppings and moss at panel edges therefore build up faster than in dry north Gujarat. Pre-monsoon storms also bring lightning and gusts. We specify surge protection on both the DC and AC side, a tested earthing pit, anchored galvanised structure and a cleaning plan set for your roof.

Questions

Solar in Vyara: every question answered.

17 questions Vyara buyers actually search for, including the ones competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.

Cost & subsidy

How much does rooftop solar cost in Vyara in 2026?
A 3 kW system costs about ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh before subsidy and ₹1.02 lakh to ₹1.47 lakh after the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar credit. A 5 kW system runs ₹2.85 lakh to ₹3.45 lakh before subsidy. These are indicative market ranges, not a quotation.
What is the Vyara solar subsidy for a house?
Up to ₹78,000 under PM Surya Ghar: ₹30,000 for each of the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, with nothing more above 3 kW. A 2 kW system gets ₹60,000. The scheme is central, so Tapi district receives exactly what every other district does.
Can I claim the subsidy for solar on my farmhouse near Vyara?
Yes, if the farmhouse has its own domestic DGVCL connection. PM Surya Ghar follows the connection type, not the location. An agricultural pump connection does not qualify, and a solar pump for the borewell is handled under PM-KUSUM instead.
Is zero down payment solar available in Vyara?
Yes, through financing. The monthly instalment is set close to or below the bill the system replaces, so cash flow stays roughly even from the first month. It works for homes and for businesses such as nursing homes and shops. Bring your bill and we will show both options.

Net metering & DISCOM

Which DISCOM handles net metering in Vyara?
Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited, DGVCL, the GUVNL subsidiary for South Gujarat. The Tapi district administration lists its Vyara office at Kanpura, Vyara 394650. Torrent Power, MGVCL, UGVCL and PGVCL do not supply Vyara.
How does DGVCL net metering work for a Vyara home?
DGVCL replaces your meter with a bidirectional one. Units exported in the daytime are set off against units imported at night within the billing cycle, so you pay only for the net. GERC sets the terms, not DGVCL and not your installer.
My village is outside Vyara town. Does the process change?
No. Villages such as Kapura, Lakhali or Khushalpura are still DGVCL connections and follow the same portal, feasibility and inspection steps. Only the sub-division handling your file differs. We read it off your bill and file it with the right office.
How long does DGVCL approval take for a Vyara rooftop?
Usually two to five weeks from application to feasibility, then inspection and meter replacement after installation. Workload at the sub-division decides the pace. We file, follow up and tell you where the file sits instead of leaving you to chase it.

Sizing & performance

How much electricity will solar produce in Vyara with so much rain?
About 4 to 4.5 units per kW a day, averaged over the year. July and August produce less under cloud, but October to May is strong. A 3 kW system gives 360 to 405 units a month and a 5 kW system 600 to 675 units on that annual basis.
What size system suits my DGVCL bill?
As a guide, 2 kW suits bills up to ₹1,800 a month and 3 kW suits ₹2,000 to ₹3,500. A 5 kW system fits ₹3,500 to ₹6,000, and 10 kW fits ₹6,000 to ₹13,000. Above ₹13,000 you are into 25 kW and commercial sizing. Check units and sanctioned load before settling.
How much roof space do I need?
About 200 sq ft for 2 kW, 300 sq ft for 3 kW, 500 sq ft for 5 kW and 700 to 1,000 sq ft for 10 kW. All of it must be free of shade. In Vyara the usual culprit is a tree beside the house, followed by water tanks and stair cabins.
Will trees around my Vyara house affect the panels?
They can, quite a lot. Even partial afternoon shade on one module pulls down the output of the string. Our survey maps each tree on a sun path, places panels on the clearest part of the roof and tells you honestly if trimming would change the result.

Installation & service

Can you install during the Vyara monsoon?
Yes, but roof work is scheduled around dry spells, and the paperwork stage often fills the wettest weeks anyway. Starting approvals in the monsoon means installation lands in October, when the sun returns. Site work itself takes two to four days.
What happens if a panel or inverter fails?
Modules are Adani and inverters are Qbits, our group's own brand. Serial numbers are listed on your Bill of Materials, so a claim goes straight to an identifiable manufacturer. Our field team in South Gujarat handles the visit and the replacement.
How do you protect the system from Tapi monsoon rain and lightning?
Sealed and flashed roof entries, junction boxes with a genuine ingress rating, surge protection on DC and AC sides, and an earthing pit that is tested, not assumed. The galvanised structure is anchored for storm gusts. Ask any vendor to put these in writing.

About Heaven Green

Does Heaven Green Energy have an office in Vyara?
No. Our only office is at Mota Varachha in Surat, about 65 km away. Vyara and the surrounding villages are served by our channel partner network and field engineers, who survey, supervise installation and deal with DGVCL. We say this upfront.
Why choose Heaven Green over a local Vyara installer?
Installing since 2017, more than 10,000 installations, an authorised channel partner of Adani with Qbits inverters from our own group, and a written Bill of Materials on every job. We handle DGVCL and PM Surya Ghar filings ourselves. Compare any local quote against that list.
