The short answer

Rooftop solar in Pimpri-Chinchwad runs about ₹2.00 lakh to ₹2.50 lakh for 3 kW before subsidy. That falls to ₹1.22 lakh to ₹1.72 lakh once the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy lands. Each kW makes 4 to 4.5 units a day here. MSEDCL, trading as Mahavitaran, runs net metering across the twin city under MERC rules. Payback sits between three and a half and five years.

Price, size and savings

Find your bill. Read across.

Most Pimpri-Chinchwad solar pages hide the price behind a call-back form or quote a national average that ignores metro Maharashtra costs. One table answers the question instead. Find your monthly bill on the left, then read across for size, generation, roof area and price after subsidy.

Indicative Pimpri-Chinchwad market ranges for 2026, covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, galvanised structure, protection and installation. These are not a Heaven Green Energy quotation and no price here is an offer. Subsidy amounts are the central PM Surya Ghar figures published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shadow-free, broadly south-facing roof.

Size against units, not rupees. Pull the units consumed off your last Mahavitaran bill rather than the amount payable. Units are what an array cancels, and the rupee figure moves with slab rates and fuel adjustment charges. The roof column says shadow-free for a reason. Twin-city terraces carry overhead tanks, lift machine rooms and society parapets. On the tight plots of Pimpri, Kalewadi and Sangvi, an elevated structure usually earns back the extra steel within two summers.

The 3 kW cliff decides most residential orders. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 per kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, then stops. So the subsidy wipes out 31 to 39% of a 3 kW system and only 11 to 14% of a 10 kW one. If your bill sits on the boundary, 3 kW returns more per rupee spent.

A cheap twin-city quote is cheap in the steelwork, not the modules. Galvanising thickness, cable gauge, earthing and surge protection separate the bottom of each band from the top. One warning specific to Pimpri-Chinchwad: a large share of stock here sits in tall society towers, and a flat society roof is common property. Get written managing-committee permission before you pay an advance, because a vendor who skips that step leaves you holding an undeliverable order.

Why there is no rupee saving in that table

You will notice the table shows no rupee saving. That figure depends on the tariff slab you personally reach and the fixed charge on your connection. It also turns on the wheeling and fuel adjustment lines on your own Mahavitaran bill, all of which differ between consumers on the same street. Guessing it here would be dishonest. Bring your last bill to the free survey and we will work the number out in front of you. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

₹78,000

Maximum central subsidy for a residential rooftop system.

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
  • Nothing paid above 3 kW
  • Credited directly to your bank account
  • We file the entire claim for you
How the subsidy works

Five steps, and we run four of them.

Anyone advertising a bigger Pimpri-Chinchwad subsidy is selling something that does not exist. PM Surya Ghar is a central scheme, so the amount is identical in Chinchwad, Chennai and Chandigarh. What changes by city is which utility processes the file, and here that is MSEDCL.

1

Register on the National Portal

You register at pmsuryaghar.gov.in using your MSEDCL consumer number, mobile, Aadhaar and address. We sit with you for this step. A consumer number typed off an old receipt, or one still in a previous owner's name, is the commonest reason a twin-city application stalls before it starts.

2

Apply for feasibility, then pick your vendor

MSEDCL checks the requested capacity against your sanctioned load and the local distribution transformer. You then select an empanelled vendor from the portal list. Heaven Green Energy is empanelled, so we map straight to your application without you re-keying anything.

3

Install only after approval

Work starts once feasibility clears, never before. We supply Adani modules with traceable serial numbers, a Qbits inverter, galvanised structure and surge protection. On handover day we give you a Bill of Materials and the warranty schedule in writing.

4

Inspection and net meter

MSEDCL inspects earthing, isolation and protection, then swaps your meter for a bidirectional one and raises the commissioning certificate on the portal. Our engineer attends the inspection so queries are answered on the spot rather than by email a week later.

5

Claim and credit

We file the subsidy claim as soon as the certificate issues, with your bank details and cancelled cheque. Government credits the money directly to your account. It never passes through us, so treat any vendor offering to collect the subsidy for you as a reason to walk away.

If you are a business, this section does not apply

PM Surya Ghar covers residential consumers only. The engineering firms, tool rooms and warehouses around Bhosari and Chinchwad cannot claim a rupee of it. They claim accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, which for a profitable taxpayer usually returns more than the residential subsidy ever would.

MSEDCL (Mahavitaran)

Net metering: who you actually file with.

Net metering is where rival Pimpri-Chinchwad pages get sloppy, and a wrong licensee costs you every export credit you were counting on.

Pimpri-Chinchwad is supplied by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), which trades as Mahavitaran, through its Pune Zone. MSEDCL distributes power across almost all of Maharashtra. The exceptions are the separately licensed Mumbai areas served by BEST, Adani Electricity and Tata Power, plus a handful of distribution-franchise pockets such as Bhiwandi. None of those apply here. A page that sends a Chinchwad homeowner to a Mumbai licensee's portal is sending them to a utility with no connection to their meter.

Being a separate municipal corporation from Pune changes your civic approvals, not your electricity supplier. PCMC handles the building and society side. MSEDCL still owns the connection, the sanctioned load and the meter, and the application is filed in the Pune Zone either way.

Commercial terms come from the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC), not from the utility and not from us. Under the MERC rooftop net-metering framework your system is capped against sanctioned load, and every consumer category may apply. Surplus units you export are credited against units you draw at night or through the monsoon. Grid support charges apply to larger connections, which is one more reason to size honestly at survey stage.

1

Application

Consumer details, sanctioned load, system rating, single-line diagram, structural load certificate and equipment datasheets go to MSEDCL together, as one complete file.

Filed by us
2

Technical feasibility

Mahavitaran tests whether your sanctioned load and the local distribution transformer carry the proposed capacity. Oversized systems fail here, which is why we size against sanctioned load on the first visit.

MSEDCL
3

Installation and inspection

We install once feasibility clears. MSEDCL then inspects earthing, protection, isolation and metering compliance. Larger systems also need electrical inspectorate clearance before energisation.

Us, then MSEDCL
4

Bidirectional meter

Your existing meter is replaced with a bidirectional net meter and the commissioning certificate issues on the portal. Export credits begin counting from that date, not from installation day.

Not a home?

Solar for Pimpri-Chinchwad's businesses.

Running a machine shop, warehouse or clinic rather than a home? The maths works differently and this page is written for householders.

Commercial and industrial consumers across Bhosari MIDC, Chinchwad MIDC, Talawade, Kudalwadi and the Chakan and Talegaon corridor on the city's northern edge get no PM Surya Ghar subsidy. They claim accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, which for a taxpaying engineering firm often beats what the residential subsidy would have paid. They can also avoid capital outlay altogether through OPEX or RESCO structures.

We deliver turnkey C&I EPC across the twin-city belt: shed-roof structural design to wind-load standards, HT and LT coordination with MSEDCL, and long-term O&M. Two-shift auto component plants are close to an ideal solar load, because their draw peaks in exactly the hours the array is generating.

Why us

Why Pimpri-Chinchwad customers choose Heaven Green Energy

We have built solar since 2017 and delivered more than 10,000 installations across India, from single terraces to industrial plants running into hundreds of kilowatts.

Authorised Adani Solar distributorGenuine Adani modules with traceable serial numbers and the full manufacturer warranty behind them. No grey-market stock bought on price, and no badge-engineered brand that has disappeared by the time you need a performance claim honoured in year eleven.
We build our own invertersQbits is our in-house inverter brand. The component most likely to need service in twenty-five years is therefore supported by the company that made it, not by an importer who may have dropped the product line.
The paperwork is our jobPortal registration, vendor mapping, MSEDCL feasibility, net metering, inspection attendance and the subsidy claim all sit with our team. Your part is signing, attending the survey, and getting society permission where the roof is common property.
Nothing to pay for the surveyThe survey and written proposal cost nothing and commit you to nothing. You keep the Bill of Materials, the shadow analysis, the generation estimate and the payback figure. You are welcome to price all four against any rival in the twin city.

Where we are based

Heaven Green Energy is headquartered at Mota Varachha, Surat. We serve Pimpri-Chinchwad and the wider Western Maharashtra region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They run the surveys, supervise installation and handle MSEDCL coordination on the ground. We have no branch office in the twin city and we say so before you sign, not after.

How we work

From first call to a spinning net meter.

Four steps to a spinning net meter, including the parts that belong to MSEDCL rather than to us.

01

Free site survey

We measure genuinely shadow-free area, check the slab and parapet, read your sanctioned load and twelve months of Mahavitaran consumption, and log shading from tanks, lift rooms and neighbouring towers.

Day 1–2
02

Written proposal

System size, layout drawing, Bill of Materials with makes and models, generation estimate at local irradiance, your subsidy figure and payback. No obligation, and the document is yours to keep.

Day 3–5
03

Applications and installation

We file on the national portal and with MSEDCL, then install once feasibility clears. A typical residential terrace takes two to four working days of actual site work.

Day 5–15
04

Inspection, meter, subsidy

Mahavitaran inspects and fits the bidirectional meter, the commissioning certificate issues, and we file your claim. Government pays the subsidy straight into your bank account.

What Pimpri-Chinchwad weather does to a solar system

A design drawn for a coastal Gujarat roof is wrong for the Deccan plateau. Three local conditions change the engineering here, and a vendor who ignores them quotes you less and then delivers less.

A long, wet south-west monsoon

June to September delivers the bulk of the year's rain. The twin city sits on the Pawana and Indrayani catchments, with roughly twenty-five rain days a month at the peak. Output drops through those weeks, which is fine, because the array is sized on annual generation. What matters is waterproofing: correct ballast or chemical anchors, sealed penetrations and cable entries dressed downward so nothing tracks water into a junction box.

Construction and highway dust

PM10 readings across the twin city commonly sit in the 45 to 60 microgram range. The drivers are the Mumbai-Pune highway, MIDC traffic and constant redevelopment through Moshi, Chikhali, Punawale and Ravet. That dust settles as a soiling film that costs output with no visible fault and no alarm. Plan on cleaning every two to three weeks from January to May, and less often once the rain takes over. Our AMC covers it.

Heat derating and pre-monsoon squalls

Plateau afternoons run hot in April and May, and module output falls as cell temperature climbs, so airflow beneath the array is not optional. Real clearance between module and slab lets heat escape. The same weeks bring sharp pre-monsoon wind events. Galvanising thickness, foundation design and fastener grade are what keep the array on a fifth-floor terrace, and they are the first items a cut-price quote quietly thins.

Questions

Solar in Pimpri-Chinchwad: every question answered.

17 questions Pimpri-Chinchwad buyers actually search for, including the ones competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.

Cost & subsidy

What is the cost of solar panel installation in Pimpri-Chinchwad in 2026?
Roughly ₹2.00 to ₹2.50 lakh for 3 kW, ₹3.10 to ₹3.80 lakh for 5 kW and ₹5.65 to ₹6.90 lakh for 10 kW, all before subsidy. Metro Maharashtra sits slightly above the state average because of access, crane hire and society compliance. Structure quality and protection specification drive the spread, not the panel brand.
What is the price of a 3 kW solar system in Pimpri-Chinchwad after subsidy?
Between ₹1.22 lakh and ₹1.72 lakh net, from ₹2.00 to ₹2.50 lakh less the ₹78,000 subsidy. A 3 kW array generates 360 to 405 units a month here, which covers a household consuming 300 to 400 units. It is the smallest system earning the full subsidy, which is why it outsells every other size.
How much solar subsidy do I get in Pimpri-Chinchwad?
Up to ₹78,000. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kW, and nothing above that. So 1 kW earns ₹30,000, 2 kW earns ₹60,000, and 3 kW or larger earns ₹78,000. The amount is national and government credits it straight to your bank account.
Can I buy rooftop solar on EMI in Pimpri-Chinchwad?
Yes. Residential rooftop solar falls under priority-sector lending, so several banks and NBFCs finance it. Most twin-city households borrow the pre-subsidy amount, then prepay principal when the ₹78,000 lands. We can introduce financing partners, though checking their rate against your own salary-account bank is usually the smarter move.

Net metering & DISCOM

Which electricity company handles solar net metering in Pimpri-Chinchwad?
MSEDCL, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, which trades as Mahavitaran, through its Pune Zone. MSEDCL supplies almost all of Maharashtra outside the separately licensed Mumbai areas held by BEST, Adani Electricity and Tata Power. Being a separate municipal corporation from Pune does not change your electricity licensee.
Is net metering available in Pimpri-Chinchwad, and what happens to surplus units?
Yes. Under the MERC rooftop framework your system is capped against sanctioned load and all consumer categories may apply. Your home uses solar first by day and exports the surplus to MSEDCL as credit. The strong February to May output then banks against what you draw through the monsoon and after dark.
How long does MSEDCL net metering take in Pimpri-Chinchwad?
Plan on several weeks from application to energised net meter, covering feasibility, installation, inspection and the meter swap. Installation itself is only a few days of that. The Mahavitaran-controlled steps set the pace and no installer can compress them, so a guaranteed one-week net meter is a claim worth distrusting.
Do I need MSEDCL approval before installing solar on my roof?
Yes, for any grid-connected system, which is nearly everybody. The correct order is application, feasibility approval, installation, then inspection and meter. Installing first is how roofs end up generating with no export credit and how oversized systems get rejected outright. We file in the right sequence for you.

Sizing & performance

How many units does 1 kW of solar generate per day in Pimpri-Chinchwad?
About 4 to 4.5 units daily, averaged over the year. The twin city gets roughly 5.5 peak sun hours, a strong plateau resource. Output beats that average from February to May and falls below it through the June to September monsoon. Judge a system on the annual total rather than one wet week.
What size solar system suits a 2 BHK or 3 BHK home in Pimpri-Chinchwad?
A 2 BHK typically needs 2 to 3 kW and a 3 BHK 3 to 5 kW, but size against consumption rather than floor plan. Take the units from twelve months of Mahavitaran bills, average them, and pick the system that covers a normal month. Two identical flats can differ by half a system.
How many air conditioners can a 3 kW or 5 kW system run?
A 1.5-ton split AC draws roughly 1.2 to 1.5 units an hour while the compressor runs. A 3 kW system making 12 to 13.5 units a day supports one AC through the afternoon plus normal household load. Two ACs across an April heat spell needs 5 kW. At night you draw grid power against banked export credits.
Does solar work through the Pimpri-Chinchwad monsoon?
Yes, at reduced output, because modules still generate from diffuse light on an overcast day. This is precisely why net metering beats batteries for a grid-connected home here. The surplus you export through the dry months returns as bill credits that offset the monsoon shortfall, so the array is sized on the year.

Installation & service

How long does solar installation take in Pimpri-Chinchwad?
Two to four days of site work on a typical residential terrace. The whole process, from survey and proposal through the portal and MSEDCL applications to inspection and net meter, runs several weeks, with the utility steps as the variable. We name a date range at proposal stage and say which steps are ours.
What maintenance do solar panels need in Pimpri-Chinchwad?
Mainly cleaning. Highway, MIDC and construction dust through Moshi, Chikhali, Punawale and Ravet builds a soiling film that cuts output with no visible fault. Wash the glass every two to three weeks from January to May, less during the rains, and check connections, earthing and fasteners twice a year. Our AMC covers both.
Can I add more panels to my system later?
Usually yes, inside two limits: your inverter capacity and your MSEDCL sanctioned load. Tell us at survey stage if you expect an EV or a second AC and we will specify an inverter with headroom and lay the structure out for expansion. Going past sanctioned load needs a load-enhancement application first.
