The short answer

Rooftop solar in Sagar costs roughly ₹1,85,000 to ₹2,30,000 installed for 3 kW and ₹2,90,000 to ₹3,50,000 for 5 kW, before a PM Surya Ghar subsidy of up to ₹78,000. Expect 4 to 4.3 units per kW each day. Your licensee is MPPoKVVCL, the East Discom, and residential payback usually lands between 3.5 and 5 years.

Price, size and savings

Find your bill. Read across.

Start with your bill, not with a system size. Find the band your monthly MPPoKVVCL bill sits in, read across to the size that covers it, then read the price, the roof area it needs and the payback. Sizing above your bill wastes money.

These are indicative installed market ranges for Madhya Pradesh in 2026, not a Heaven Green Energy quotation. Your real price depends on roof height, structure, cable runs, shadow and metering work, and is fixed only after a site survey. Subsidy amounts are the central PM Surya Ghar slabs published at pmsuryaghar.gov.in.

The subsidy stops climbing at 3 kW. You get ₹30,000 for each of the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, which caps the grant at ₹78,000. A fourth and fifth kilowatt attract nothing. So a 3 kW system in Sagar can land near ₹1,07,000 net while 5 kW lands near ₹2,12,000 net, and the extra two kilowatts cost full price. If your bill sits around ₹3,500, price both and compare rupees returned per rupee spent before you sign.

A quote that undercuts the band above has cut something you cannot see from the ground. Usually it is the mounting structure: thin section, light galvanising, fewer ballast points. Sometimes it is cable gauge, sometimes the earthing and surge protection, sometimes the inverter warranty. Ask for a written Bill of Materials with make, model and rating on every line.

One Sagar warning. A lot of roofs here are old Bundelkhand stone and lime slabs, or added floors over them. Insist the surveyor checks the slab and the parapet before quoting a fixed price, because a structure redesign discovered after booking is where budgets break.

Why there is no rupee saving in that table

We publish no rupee saving figure for Sagar. Your saving depends on your tariff category, your sanctioned load, your slab, your fixed charges and how much of your generation you consume during daylight rather than export. Two neighbours with identical 5 kW arrays can save very different amounts. Bring your last bill to the survey and we will work it out on your numbers. Prefer to work it out yourself first? PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

₹78,000

Maximum central subsidy for a residential rooftop system.

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
  • Nothing paid above 3 kW
  • Credited directly to your bank account
  • We file the entire claim for you
How the subsidy works

Five steps, and we run four of them.

PM Surya Ghar is a central scheme, so Sagar gets exactly what Indore, Jabalpur and Chennai get. The money reaches your bank account after commissioning and after your MPPoKVVCL net meter is installed. No installer touches it at any stage.

1

Register on the national portal

Create a consumer account at pmsuryaghar.gov.in using your MPPoKVVCL consumer number exactly as printed on your bill. Select Madhya Pradesh and the East Discom. A wrong discom selection here stalls the file later.

2

Apply for feasibility

Submit the rooftop application with your proposed capacity. MPPoKVVCL checks your sanctioned load and the distribution transformer feeding you, then issues technical feasibility approval. Nothing should be installed before that approval exists on the portal.

3

Install through a registered vendor

The vendor must be empanelled and the modules and inverter must be on the approved lists. We are empanelled, we supply Adani Solar modules as an authorised distributor, and we upload the installation details against your application.

4

Inspection and net meter

MPPoKVVCL inspects earthing, isolation and protection, then replaces your meter with a bidirectional one and issues the commissioning certificate. That certificate is the document the subsidy release is keyed to, so keep a copy.

5

Bank details and credit

Upload your bank account details and a cancelled cheque on the portal. The subsidy is transferred directly by the government. Anyone in Sagar offering to collect it on your behalf or deduct it from your invoice is not describing the scheme correctly.

If you are a business, this section does not apply

Businesses, shops, offices, schools, hospitals and factories are not eligible for PM Surya Ghar. That scheme is residential only. Commercial and industrial buyers get their return through accelerated depreciation on the asset plus the avoided tariff, which on Sagar commercial slabs usually beats the residential case anyway.

MPPoKVVCL (MP East Discom)

Net metering: who you actually file with.

Name the wrong utility and you lose every export credit you budgeted for. Here is the licensee that actually supplies Sagar, the regulator behind it and the order of events.

Sagar is supplied by Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited, the East Discom, whose head office is in Jabalpur. Madhya Pradesh divides distribution between three state companies and the abbreviations are close enough to cause real damage. Poorv Kshetra runs the east from Jabalpur, Paschim Kshetra runs the west from Indore on mpwz.co.in, and Madhya Kshetra runs the centre from Bhopal on portal.mpcz.in. The three are named as separate licensees in MPERC's retail supply tariff order for FY 2026-27. A Sagar application filed with the Indore or Bhopal company has gone to a utility with no authority over your connection, and it will not be processed.

Practically, that means your consumer number, your sanctioned load, your feasibility approval and your bidirectional meter all sit with the East Discom and its Sagar divisional offices. The consumer portal and billing run on the mpez.co.in domain, short for MP East Zone. Check the name printed on your own bill before you believe any vendor's paperwork.

The commercial terms come from the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission, not from the discom and not from us. Under the MPERC framework your system is capped at your sanctioned load, and every consumer category may apply. Units you export are credited against units you import across the billing cycle.

1

Application

Consumer details, sanctioned load, system rating, single-line diagram and equipment datasheets go to the MPPoKVVCL division office covering your part of Sagar.

Filed by us
2

Technical feasibility

The discom tests whether your sanctioned load and your distribution transformer can carry the proposed capacity. Oversized designs are refused here, which is why we read your sanctioned load on visit one.

MPPoKVVCL
3

Installation and inspection

We install, terminate and commission. MPPoKVVCL then inspects earthing, isolation, protection and metering before anything is allowed to energise against the grid.

Us, then MPPoKVVCL
4

Bidirectional meter

Your meter is swapped for a bidirectional unit that records import and export separately. Your next bill shows both, and exported units are credited against imported ones.

Not a home?

Solar for Sagar's businesses.

Not a home? Sagar's commercial rooftops are often the stronger case, because daytime load and commercial tariffs both work in solar's favour.

We install on shops and godowns around Bada Bazar, Sadar Bazar and the Gallamandi grain market. We also work on the flour, oil and ghee milling units and engineering workshops in the Siddhguwan industrial area. Hotels along the national highway corridor follow, along with the beedi and agarbatti units that Sagar has made for generations. Most of these run their load between nine in the morning and eight at night, which is close to the shape of a solar day.

Two things usually decide the numbers:

Why us

Why Sagar customers choose Heaven Green Energy

We have been installing since 2017 and have passed 10,000 installations. Four things about how we work are worth knowing before you shortlist anyone.

We are honest about where we sitOur office is in Surat. We say so on this page rather than implying a Sagar branch that does not exist. Surveys, installation and discom follow-up run through our field team and channel partners.
The hardware is ours to stand behindAdani Solar modules as an authorised distributor, Qbits inverters manufactured in-house. That shortens the chain when a warranty claim or a replacement is needed, because we are not chasing a third-party importer.
We file your paperwork, you do notPM Surya Ghar registration, MPPoKVVCL feasibility, inspection coordination and the net-meter request are our work. You sign a handful of forms and supply a bank account for the subsidy credit.
The quote is itemised, not a lump sumModule make and model, inverter rating, structure section and galvanising, cable gauge, earthing and protection are all written down. That is the only form of quote you can honestly compare against another vendor's.

Where we are based

Heaven Green Energy is headquartered at Mota Varachha, Surat. We serve Sagar and the wider Bundelkhand region through our channel partner network and field engineering team, who run the surveys, supervise installation and handle MPPoKVVCL coordination on the ground. There is no Heaven Green branch office in Sagar, and we state that before you sign rather than after.

How we work

From first call to a spinning net meter.

Four stages from your first call to a meter that runs backwards on export.

01

Bill reading and roof survey

We read your consumption, tariff category and sanctioned load, then measure the usable shadow-free roof, check the slab and parapet, and map shading from water tanks and neighbouring floors.

2 to 4 days
02

Design, quote and applications

You get a layout, a generation estimate and an itemised price. On acceptance we file the PM Surya Ghar application and the MPPoKVVCL feasibility request in your name.

3 to 5 days
03

Supply and installation

Structure, modules, inverter, DC and AC cabling, earthing and surge protection go up and are commissioned. Most Sagar residential systems are physically complete inside a working week.

2 to 4 days on site
04

Inspection, net meter, subsidy

MPPoKVVCL inspects, installs the bidirectional meter and issues the commissioning certificate. We then track the subsidy release until it reaches your account.

Discom-dependent

What Sagar weather does to a solar system

Sagar sits on a Vindhyan spur in a humid subtropical climate with a hard pre-monsoon summer, a short violent monsoon and a long dry stretch either side of it. Three things follow for the hardware on your roof.

The pre-monsoon heat is the real design constraint

Mean daily maxima reach 41.3 degrees in May and 38.4 in April, and the station record is 47.0 degrees, set in June. Modules lose output as cell temperature climbs, so the structure has to hold the array clear of the slab and let air move underneath. A low-mounted array on a hot Sagar terrace quietly gives away summer yield it was sold on.

Dust sits on glass for most of the year

Sagar records about 55 rainy days a year, which leaves roughly 300 dry ones. Plateau dust, grain-market chaff and construction spoil settle on glass and are not washed off between October and June. A soiled array loses output in exactly the months it should be producing most, so the cleaning schedule matters as much as the panel brand.

The monsoon arrives concentrated, not spread out

Annual rainfall is about 1,192 mm, but July and August alone bring roughly 735 mm of it. That is a lot of water over a short window. Mounting feet, slab penetrations and cable entries have to be sealed and routed for it, and you should expect visibly lower generation through those two months. Budget on the annual figure, not on a good week in May.

Questions

Solar in Sagar: every question answered.

17 questions Sagar buyers actually search for, including the ones competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.

Cost & subsidy

What is the solar panel price in Sagar in 2026?
Indicative installed market ranges are ₹1,30,000 to ₹1,60,000 for 2 kW and ₹1,85,000 to ₹2,30,000 for 3 kW. A 5 kW system costs ₹2,90,000 to ₹3,50,000 and 10 kW ₹5,30,000 to ₹6,40,000, all before subsidy. Your final figure depends on roof height, structure and cable runs.
How much subsidy do I get in Sagar?
Up to ₹78,000 for a residential connection. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 per kilowatt for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, then stops. The scheme is central, so Sagar receives the same slabs as every other Indian city.
Does the subsidy come to me or to the installer?
To you. After commissioning and net-meter installation, the government transfers the amount directly to the bank account you registered on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. No installer handles it. If a Sagar vendor offers to adjust it against your invoice, be careful.
Is a 3 kW or a 5 kW system better value here?
It depends on where your bill sits. 3 kW takes the full ₹78,000 and nothing above it is subsidised, so 5 kW costs roughly two extra kilowatts at full price. If your monthly bill is around ₹3,500, ask for both priced and compare payback, not headline size.

Net metering & DISCOM

Which electricity company supplies Sagar?
Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited, the East Discom, head office in Jabalpur, portal at mpez.co.in. It is a different licensee from the West Discom at Indore and the Central Discom at Bhopal. Your bill carries the name, so check it.
How does net metering work with MPPoKVVCL?
Your meter is replaced with a bidirectional unit that logs import and export separately. Units you export are credited against units you import across the billing cycle. The framework is set by MPERC, the state regulator, not by the discom or by us.
How long does MPPoKVVCL approval take in Sagar?
Feasibility approval usually comes within a few weeks of filing, and inspection plus meter change follows commissioning. Timelines are the discom's, not ours, so we never promise a date. We file correctly first time, which is what actually prevents delay.
Can I install more solar than my sanctioned load?
No. The MPERC framework caps rooftop capacity at your sanctioned load, and MPPoKVVCL rejects oversized proposals at the feasibility stage. If you want a bigger array, apply to enhance your sanctioned load first. It is a routine, inexpensive application.

Sizing & performance

How many units will a solar system generate in Sagar?
About 4 to 4.3 units per kW per day as an annual mean on a shadow-free roof, off roughly 5 peak sun hours. A 3 kW system gives about 355 to 390 units a month and a 5 kW system about 590 to 650 units, averaged over the year.
How much roof do I need?
Around 200 square feet for 2 kW, 300 for 3 kW and 500 for 5 kW, all of it genuinely shadow-free. 10 kW needs 700 to 1,000 square feet. Water tanks, stair-head rooms and a taller neighbouring floor all eat into usable area, so measure before you size.
Does the Sagar monsoon kill generation?
It reduces it for two months rather than killing it. July and August carry roughly 735 mm of Sagar's 1,192 mm annual rainfall, so output dips through them and recovers afterwards. Payback figures are built on the annual mean, which already includes the monsoon dip.
What size suits my bill?
Roughly: up to ₹1,800 a month suits 2 kW, ₹2,000 to ₹3,500 suits 3 kW and ₹3,500 to ₹6,000 suits 5 kW. A bill of ₹6,000 to ₹13,000 suits 10 kW, and above that you are into 25 kW and larger. Your sanctioned load still has the final say.

Installation & service

How long does installation take in Sagar?
Two to four days on site for a typical residential system, after a survey and design stage of about a week. The longer part is discom feasibility, inspection and the meter change, which run on MPPoKVVCL's schedule rather than ours.
How often should panels be cleaned here?
More often than in a wetter city. Sagar has around 55 rainy days a year, so glass stays dusty from October through June and soiling eats output in the strongest months. Agree a cleaning interval in writing before you sign, not afterwards.
Will the structure survive on an old Sagar roof?
Only if someone checks it first. Older stone and lime slabs and added floors need the slab and parapet inspected before a fixed price is quoted. Our surveyor does that on the first visit, because a structure redesign found later is what wrecks budgets.

About Heaven Green

Do you have an office in Sagar?
No. Heaven Green Energy has one office, at Mota Varachha in Surat. We serve Sagar through our channel partner network and field engineering team, who run surveys, supervise installation and handle MPPoKVVCL coordination. We say this before you sign, not after.
What equipment do you install?
Adani Solar modules, which we supply as an authorised distributor, and Qbits inverters, which we manufacture ourselves. Owning both ends of that chain means warranty claims and replacements do not disappear into a third-party importer's queue.
