Price, size and savings Find your bill. Read across.
Here is the whole answer in one table, with no form standing in front of it. Find your monthly bill in the left column and read across for the system size that matches it. The row also shows what that size generates in Jabalpur, the shadow-free roof it needs, and what it costs once the central subsidy is deducted.
These are indicative Jabalpur market ranges for 2026, covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, galvanised structure, protection and installation. They are not a Heaven Green quotation. Subsidy amounts are the central PM Surya Ghar figures published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shadow-free, roughly south-facing roof.
Size against units, not rupees. The units figure on your MPPoKVVCL bill is what a solar system actually cancels, so start there. The roof column says shadow-free for a reason. An overhead tank, a mobile tower guy wire or a neighbour's stairwell block shading the array for two hours a day removes far more output than owners expect. On the tight plots of Garha and Ghamapur, an elevated structure pays for its extra steel.
The 3 kW cliff is real. Nothing is paid above 3 kW, so the subsidy covers roughly a third of a 3 kW system and barely a seventh of a 10 kW one. If your bill sits on the boundary, 3 kW returns more rupees per rupee spent.
One Jabalpur warning: check who holds the roof. A lot of housing here is Cantonment Board, railway, ordnance factory or MPHB estate property, where the occupier cannot sign a structural alteration on their own. Settle the ownership and the society or board consent before you pay any advance, because a net-metering file will stall on exactly that document.
What a cheap Jabalpur quote actually cuts. The gap between the bottom and the top of each band is almost never the panel. It is galvanising thickness on the mounting structure, cable gauge on the DC run, the earthing pit, and whether surge protection is fitted at all. Those four items decide whether the array is still square after three monsoons. They also decide whether the inverter, the costliest part you will ever replace, survives a lightning season in the Narmada valley. Ask for them line by line, in writing.
Why there is no rupee saving in that table
You will notice the table shows no rupee saving. That figure depends on the slab rate printed on your own MPPoKVVCL bill. Two houses on the same Jabalpur street can pay different rates, depending on sanctioned load and monthly consumption. Guessing it would be dishonest, and a vendor who quotes you a saving before reading your bill has guessed.
