The short answer
Rooftop solar in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar costs roughly ₹58,000 to ₹77,000 per kW before subsidy. A 3 kW system therefore runs ₹1.85 lakh to ₹2.32 lakh, falling to ₹1.07 lakh to ₹1.54 lakh after the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy. Each kW makes 4 to 4.5 units daily on roughly 5.5 peak sun hours. MSEDCL handles net metering. Payback runs three and a half to five years.

Price, size and savings
Find your bill. Read across.
Most pages written for this city either park the price behind a callback form or repeat a national average that nobody was ever quoted. One table settles it instead. Find your monthly bill in the left column, then read across for the system size that suits it and what it generates in a month. The same row gives the shadow-free roof it needs and what it costs after subsidy.

These are indicative market ranges for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in 2026, covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, galvanised structure, protection and installation. They are not a Heaven Green Energy quotation. Subsidy figures are the central PM Surya Ghar amounts published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shadow-free, roughly south-facing roof.
Size against units, not rupees. The units figure on your MSEDCL bill is what a solar system actually cancels. The rupee figure moves with slab rates, fuel adjustment charges and fixed charges that solar never touches. Pull twelve months of units, not one summer month. A Garkheda household reads very differently in May than in August, and a system sized off the May bill is a system you overpaid for.
The 3 kW cliff is real. PM Surya Ghar pays nothing above the third kilowatt. So the subsidy wipes out 34 to 42% of a 3 kW system and only about 12 to 15% of a 10 kW one. If your consumption sits on the border between 3 kW and 5 kW, 3 kW almost always returns more rupees per rupee spent.
Here, the cheap quote is cheap in the mounting structure. This is a windy plateau city at roughly 580 metres, and terraces on the Beed Bypass and Satara ridge take gusts that flat CIDCO rooftops do not. Galvanising thickness, fastener grade, cable gauge and surge protection separate the bottom of each band from the top. Ask for a written Bill of Materials listing make, model and quantity. Without one, you are comparing two numbers, not two systems.
Why there is no rupee saving in that table
You will notice the table shows no rupee saving. That is deliberate. Your saving depends on the MSEDCL tariff slab you personally land in, which is printed on your own bill and differs between a CIDCO flat and a Waluj workshop. We will not guess it in public. Bring your last bill to the free survey and we will work the real number out with you, line by line. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our

How the subsidy works
Five steps, and we run four of them.
There is no separate Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar subsidy, and anyone advertising one is selling you a story. PM Surya Ghar is a central scheme, so the amount is identical in Marathwada, Mumbai and Madurai. What changes locally is who processes the file, and here that is MSEDCL.
1
Register on the National Portal
You register at pmsuryaghar.gov.in using your MSEDCL consumer number, mobile, Aadhaar and address. We sit with you for this step. A consumer number that does not match Mahavitaran's records is the single commonest reason an application stalls for weeks.
2
Apply for feasibility, then pick your vendor
MSEDCL checks the application against your sanctioned load and the local transformer. You then select an empanelled vendor from the portal list. Heaven Green Energy is empanelled, so we map straight onto your application with no detour.
3
Install only after approval
Installation before feasibility clearance risks rejection and loses the subsidy. Once approval lands we supply Adani modules with traceable serial numbers, and hand you a Bill of Materials plus the warranty schedule on the day.
4
Inspection and net meter
MSEDCL inspects the installation, then swaps your meter for a bidirectional one and raises the commissioning certificate on the portal. Our engineer attends the inspection so queries get answered on site rather than by post.
5
Claim and credit
We file the subsidy claim once the certificate issues. Government credits the money directly to your bank account. It never passes through us, so treat any vendor who offers to collect the subsidy on your behalf as a warning sign.
If you are a business, this section does not apply
PM Surya Ghar covers residential consumers only. A Waluj or Shendra business cannot claim it. What a taxpaying business can claim is accelerated depreciation on the asset, which in practice often returns more than ₹78,000 would have. That suits this city's industrial base better anyway.
MSEDCL (Mahavitaran)
Net metering: who you actually file with.
Net metering is where rival pages for this city get sloppy, and the mistake costs you every export credit you were counting on.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the city many people still search for as Aurangabad, is supplied by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), which trades as Mahavitaran. The city and the surrounding talukas sit in Mahavitaran's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Zone, with urban divisions in the city and rural sub-divisions at Waluj, Gangapur, Phulambri and Khultabad. MSEDCL distributes to almost all of Maharashtra. The exceptions are in Mumbai, where Adani Electricity Mumbai, Tata Power and BEST hold their own licences. Any page that sends a Marathwada consumer to an Adani or Tata Power solar portal has pointed you at a utility with no connection here.
The commercial terms are not set by the discom and certainly not by us. They come from the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC). Under the MERC rooftop regulations your system is capped at your sanctioned load in kW or contract demand in kVA. It must also sit within the headroom available on your distribution transformer. Every consumer category may apply, including a housing society connection serving a common load, which matters in the CIDCO sectors where flats share a single society meter.
Units your roof exports are credited against units you draw later. That is the mechanism that makes a dry-season surplus pay for the cloudy weeks of a Marathwada monsoon. Consumers carrying arrears with MSEDCL are not eligible until the dues are cleared, so check your account before you start.
1
Application
Consumer details, sanctioned load, system rating, single-line diagram and equipment datasheets go to the MSEDCL sub-division that holds your connection.

2
Technical feasibility
Mahavitaran tests whether your sanctioned load and local transformer can carry the proposed capacity. Oversized systems fail here, which is why we size against sanctioned load on the first visit.

Installation and inspection
We install. MSEDCL then inspects earthing, protection, isolation and metering compliance before anything is energised.

Your existing meter is replaced with a bidirectional net meter and the commissioning certificate issues. Export credits begin from that date, not from the day panels went up.
MSEDCL
Not a home?
Solar for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's businesses.
Running a plant, showroom or hospital rather than a home? The arithmetic is different and this page is written for homeowners.
Businesses in Waluj MIDC, Chikalthana MIDC, Shendra MIDC and the AURIC nodes at Shendra and Bidkin get no PM Surya Ghar subsidy. They claim accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, which for a taxpaying auto-component, pharma or packaging unit usually returns more than the residential subsidy would. Capital outlay can be avoided entirely through OPEX or RESCO models, where you pay per unit generated and own nothing.
Large shed roofs across the Waluj and Shendra belt carry substantial arrays without touching usable floor area.
Day-shift industrial load matches solar generation closely, so self-consumption is high and payback is short.
We handle structural design to wind-load standards, MSEDCL registration and long-term operations and maintenance.
High-tension consumers are sized against contract demand in kVA rather than sanctioned load in kW, which changes the feasibility arithmetic entirely.
The city's export base runs to auto components, two-wheeler and engineering plants, pharmaceutical formulations and packaging, plus brewing and beverage lines at Waluj. Those are day-shift, high-load operations with large flat roofs, which is close to the ideal case for rooftop solar. Generation and consumption peak at the same hours, so almost nothing is exported. The payback is driven by the tariff you avoid rather than by the credit you bank.

What Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar weather does to a solar system
A design drawn for a humid coastal roof is wrong for a semi-arid plateau at 580 metres. The climate here is classified hot steppe, with a long dry season and a compressed monsoon. Three local conditions change the engineering, and a vendor who ignores them quotes you less and then delivers less.
Serious summer heat derating
IMD normals put the mean daily maximum near 39°C in April and close to 40°C in May, and the district has recorded 45.9°C. Module output falls as cell temperature climbs, so airflow is the fix: real clearance between module and roof lets heat escape. A structure bolted flat to the terrace to save steel quietly costs you generation every summer for twenty-five years.
Dust, and water you cannot waste on cleaning
This is drought country. Marathwada averages under 800 mm a year and most summers the district runs on water tankers. Dry-season dust still builds a soiling layer that cuts output with no visible fault, so panels need cleaning through March to June. The answer is a low-water routine, dry brushing between light rinses, not hosing a roof in a tanker month.
A short, hard monsoon
Roughly 83% of the annual rain falls between June and September, and it arrives in intense bursts rather than steady drizzle. That combination stresses fastenings, waterproofing and cable entries far more than the total rainfall suggests. Galvanising thickness, foundation design and proper cable glanding keep an array on the roof, and surge protection guards the inverter.

Before you sign
Six things to check on any Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar quote.
Including ours. Take this list to every vendor you speak to.
Ask for a written Bill of Materials with make, model and quantity. A vendor who will not give you one is not quoting a price you can compare.
Check the system fits your MSEDCL sanctioned load and the local transformer headroom. Oversized proposals fail feasibility, and that is the commonest reason a finished roof sits without an approved net meter.
Confirm the vendor is empanelled on the PM Surya Ghar portal. If they are not, your ₹78,000 cannot be claimed at all.
Get the warranty schedule with product cover and performance cover written separately, never blurred into one headline number of years.
Ask what the mounting structure is rated for. Galvanising and wind-load design is the first thing a cheap quote strips out, and this is a windy plateau.
Take the units figure off twelve months of bills, not the rupee figure off one summer bill. Units are what a system is sized against.
Questions
Solar in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: every question answered.
17 questions Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar buyers actually search for, including the ones
competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.
Cost & subsidy
What is the cost of solar panel installation in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in 2026?
Roughly ₹58,000 to ₹77,000 per kW installed before subsidy. That puts 3 kW at ₹1.85 to ₹2.32 lakh, 5 kW at ₹2.92 to ₹3.52 lakh and 10 kW at ₹5.32 to ₹6.45 lakh. Structure quality, protection specification and roof access drive the spread far more than the panel brand does. That is why two quotes for the same wattage can differ by a fifth.
What is the price of a 3 kW solar system in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar with subsidy?
Between ₹1.07 lakh and ₹1.54 lakh net, from ₹1.85 to ₹2.32 lakh less the ₹78,000 subsidy. A 3 kW system makes 360 to 405 units a month here, which covers a household using 300 to 400 units. It is also the smallest system that earns the maximum subsidy.
How much solar subsidy will I get in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?
Up to ₹78,000. Per pmsuryaghar.gov.in, PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kilowatt, then nothing beyond. So 1 kW earns ₹30,000, 2 kW earns ₹60,000 and 3 kW or larger earns ₹78,000, credited straight to your bank account.
Can I buy solar on EMI or a loan here?
Yes. Residential rooftop solar sits under priority-sector lending and several banks and NBFCs fund it. Most households finance the pre-subsidy amount, then prepay principal once the subsidy lands. We can introduce financing partners, though comparing their terms against your own bank is usually the smarter move. An existing relationship often beats a tie-up on rate and on processing fees.
Net metering & DISCOM
Which DISCOM serves Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for rooftop solar?
MSEDCL, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, trading as Mahavitaran. The city sits in its Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Zone. Adani Electricity, Tata Power and BEST are Mumbai licensees with no role here, so a page pointing you at their portals has sent you to the wrong utility entirely. Apply through Mahavitaran.
Is net metering available, and what happens to my surplus units?
Yes. Under the MERC framework your system may be sized up to your sanctioned load, and all consumer categories qualify. Your home uses solar first by day and exports the surplus to MSEDCL as credit against units drawn at night, so a February surplus banks against the July dip.
How long does MSEDCL net metering take in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?
A few weeks from application to installed bidirectional meter, covering feasibility, post-installation inspection and the meter swap. Installation itself is only days of that. The discom-controlled steps set the pace and no installer can compress them, so treat a guaranteed one-week net meter as a red flag.
Do I need MSEDCL approval before installing solar?
Yes, for any grid-connected system, which is nearly everyone. The order runs application, feasibility approval, installation, then inspection and meter. Installing first is how roofs end up generating with no export credit, and how oversized systems get rejected outright. We file in the correct order for you.
Sizing & performance
How many units does 1 kW of solar generate per day in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?
About 4 to 4.5 units daily, averaged across the year, on roughly 5.5 peak sun hours. Output runs above that from February to May and below it during the June to September monsoon. Over a full year, expect 1,450 to 1,600 units per kW from a shadow-free array.
What size system does a 2 BHK or 3 BHK home in CIDCO or Garkheda need?
A 2 BHK usually needs 2 to 3 kW and a 3 BHK 3 to 5 kW, but size against consumption rather than floor plan. Pull the units from twelve months of MSEDCL bills and pick the system that covers your average month, not your worst one.
How many air conditioners can a 3 kW or 5 kW system run?
A 1.5-ton split AC draws 1.2 to 1.5 units per hour while the compressor runs. A 3 kW system making 12 to 13.5 units a day supports one AC through the afternoon plus normal household load. Two ACs through a 40°C May needs 5 kW. At night you draw grid power against banked credits.
How much roof area do I need?
About 90 to 100 sq ft of genuinely shadow-free area per kW, so roughly 300 sq ft for 3 kW and 500 sq ft for 5 kW. Shadow-free is the operative word. A water tank shading the array two hours a day costs real output, and an elevated structure recovers area on a congested terrace.
Installation & service
How long does solar installation take here?
Two to four days on a typical residential roof. The whole process, from survey and proposal through the portal and MSEDCL applications to inspection and net meter, runs several weeks, with the discom steps as the variable. We give you a date range at proposal stage and name which steps are ours.
What maintenance do solar panels need in a drought-prone city?
Mainly cleaning, done with as little water as possible. Dry-season dust from March to June builds a soiling layer that cuts output with no visible fault. We therefore dry-brush between light rinses rather than hosing a roof during a tanker month. Connections and earthing get checked twice yearly. Our AMC covers both.
Can I add more panels to my system later?
Usually yes, within two limits: your inverter capacity and your MSEDCL sanctioned load. Tell us at survey stage if you expect to expand, and we will specify an inverter with headroom and lay the structure out for it. Going beyond your sanctioned load needs a load-enhancement application to MSEDCL first, and that is a separate process with its own timeline.
About Heaven Green
Does Heaven Green Energy have an office in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?
No. Our headquarters is in Mota Varachha, Surat. We serve this city and the wider Marathwada region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They run surveys, supervise installation, handle MSEDCL coordination and provide after-sales service locally. We would rather you knew that before signing.
Can you handle an industrial rooftop in Waluj or Shendra MIDC?
Yes. We deliver turnkey commercial and industrial EPC, including structural design to wind-load standards, MSEDCL registration and long-term operations and maintenance.
