The short answer

A 3 kW rooftop solar system in Amreli costs roughly ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh before subsidy. That falls to ₹1.02 lakh to ₹1.47 lakh once the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy is credited. Every installed kW yields 4 to 4.5 units a day here. Net metering runs through Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL), and a home system usually pays for itself in three and a half to five years.

Price, size and savings

Find your bill. Read across.

Start with the units printed on your PGVCL bill, not the rupee total. The table below turns that into a system size, the monthly generation you should expect in Amreli, the roof it needs and the price band before and after subsidy.

Indicative Amreli market ranges, 2026
Your monthly bill System Generates Roof needed Cost after subsidy Payback

Indicative Amreli market ranges for 2026. They cover Tier-1 modules, an inverter, a galvanised structure, protection gear and installation, and they are not a Heaven Green quotation. Subsidy figures are the central PM Surya Ghar amounts published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Rooftop solar systems attract 5% GST on the equipment since 22 Sep 2025. A supply-and-install contract taxes 30% of the value as installation service at 18%, so the blended rate on a typical quote is about 8.9%. Generation assumes a shadow-free roof facing roughly south.

Units first, then sanctioned load. Your bill shows two numbers that matter: the units you consumed and the sanctioned load in kW. The units tell us how big the array should be. The sanctioned load tells us how big PGVCL will let it be. When the two disagree, a load enhancement goes in before the solar application, and we check that on the survey rather than discovering it at inspection.

Why 3 kW is the sweet spot for a household. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 per kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third. Nothing more is paid beyond that. On a 3 kW system the subsidy covers about a third of the cost; on 10 kW it is closer to an eighth. If your bill sits between two sizes, the smaller one usually earns more per rupee you spend.

Compare the paperwork behind the price. Two Amreli quotes of the same size can differ in the parts you never see from the street. The difference lies in the coating on the structure, the cable size, the number of earthing pits and the surge protection. Ask each installer for a written Bill of Materials with make, model and quantity. A quote that will not list those lines has not told you what you are buying.

Why there is no rupee saving in that table

The table stops at units and does not print a rupee saving. That is on purpose. What a unit is worth to you depends on your own PGVCL tariff and slab. A domestic meter in Bhojalpara is billed differently from a shop meter on Station Road or a farmhouse connection outside Chakkargadh. At the survey we put your last bill on the table and calculate the saving from your slab, not from a state average. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

₹78,000

Maximum central subsidy for a residential rooftop system.

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
  • Nothing paid above 3 kW
  • Credited directly to your bank account
  • We file the entire claim for you
How the subsidy works

Five steps, and we run four of them.

The subsidy for Amreli homes is the same national PM Surya Ghar amount paid anywhere in India. Gujarat adds no separate top-up and Amreli has no scheme of its own. The only local part is the utility that clears your file, and here that is PGVCL.

1

Create your portal account

Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your PGVCL consumer number, Aadhaar, mobile number and the address on your connection. We do this with you, because a typo in the consumer number or a name that does not match PGVCL records holds the file up for weeks.

2

Feasibility and vendor selection

PGVCL compares the request with your sanctioned load and the transformer serving your street, then marks it feasible. You select an empanelled vendor on the portal. Heaven Green Energy is on that list, so the application links to us directly.

3

Install after the approval, never before

An array that goes up before feasibility is cleared can lose its subsidy outright. After approval we fit Adani modules with traceable serial numbers and a Qbits inverter, then hand over the Bill of Materials and warranty papers on the day of commissioning.

4

Inspection and new meter

A PGVCL engineer from your sub-division inspects the system, and a bidirectional meter replaces the old one. That generates the commissioning record on the portal. Our engineer is present at the inspection so any query is settled on the roof.

5

Subsidy lands in your bank

We lodge the claim as soon as the commissioning record is live. The central government pays the amount straight into your bank account, without passing through any installer. If an Amreli vendor asks to receive the subsidy for you, walk away.

If you are a business, this section does not apply

Only residential connections qualify for PM Surya Ghar. An oil mill, a market yard firm, a diamond office or a shop in Amreli cannot claim it. Those businesses claim accelerated depreciation on the solar asset instead, and for a profitable firm that tax benefit often outweighs the household subsidy. Farm pumps sit under a different scheme entirely: see PM-KUSUM.

PGVCL (Paschim Gujarat Vij)

Net metering: who you actually file with.

In Amreli the licensee is PGVCL, and the office that handles your file depends on where your meter sits. Here is how that works.

Amreli town draws its power from Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL), the GUVNL distribution company for Saurashtra and Kutch, headquartered in Rajkot. PGVCL runs a separate Amreli Circle. Its tender listings on pgvcl.com name an Amreli Division-1 that covers the Amreli Town and Amreli Rural sub-divisions, with the Chital sub-division in the same division. A meter inside the municipal area normally sits with Amreli Town; a farmhouse or village connection usually sits with Amreli Rural or Chital. The sub-division printed on your bill is the one that counts.

No other licensee operates here. Torrent Power's licences cover Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Surat city, and DGVCL, MGVCL and UGVCL serve south, central and north Gujarat. Amreli is not inside any of those areas.

The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) writes the commercial rules. The system you install is capped against your sanctioned load, and every consumer category may apply. Exported units are offset against imported units in the billing cycle rather than paid out in cash. Gujarat has also kept farm supply on agricultural feeders separate from village feeders since the Jyotigram scheme, so a pump connection carries its own tariff. Rooftop net metering applies to the house or farmhouse meter, not to the pump.

1

File with your sub-division

Consumer number, sanctioned load, proposed kW rating, single-line diagram and roof layout go to the PGVCL sub-division named on your bill, with the registration fee.

2

Feasibility check

PGVCL engineers check the distribution transformer and the feeder serving your connection against the proposed rating, then approve feasibility so installation can begin.

Solar for Amreli's businesses.

Amreli is a farm market town first. Its businesses process, store and trade what the taluka grows, and the solar case for them rests on depreciation and large flat roofs.

Amreli taluka grows groundnut, cotton and cereals, and the town is where that crop is sold and processed. Oil mills sit along Chakkargadh Road, Kundla Road and Varasada Road, and the market yard runs off Market Yard Road. Small workshops and units occupy the GIDC estate near Hanumanpara and Udhyog Nagar opposite the station. There is also a diamond market on Liliya Road. A mill running expellers and conveyors through the day uses power exactly when the panels produce it, which is the strongest case for solar there is.

Businesses do not get PM Surya Ghar. They claim accelerated depreciation on the solar asset, and a zero down payment structure can keep the instalment under the bill the system removes.

Farmers are a separate case. A rooftop on the farmhouse is net-metered like any home, but solar for an irrigation pump runs through PM-KUSUM, not PM Surya Ghar. Our PM-KUSUM page and the GEDA guide for Gujarat cover pump eligibility and the application route.

  • Mill and warehouse sheds need a structural check before any kW figure is promised.
  • Seasonal load matters: a mill that runs hard after the kharif harvest and idles in summer needs sizing against twelve months of bills, not one.
  • Roofs near expellers and unpaved yards collect oily dust and husk, so cleaning belongs in the maintenance contract.
Why us

What Amreli customers get from Heaven Green Energy

We started installing in 2017 and have completed more than 10,000 installations in Gujarat. Here is what that means in practice for an Amreli home or business.

PGVCL file handled end to endApplication, feasibility follow-up, test reports, inspection and the meter change sit with our team. You do not have to queue at the sub-division office or learn its paperwork.
Adani modules, Qbits invertersWe are an authorised channel partner of Adani for modules and fit only Adani panels. Inverters are Qbits, our group's own brand, so warranty claims stay with one accountable company.
Bill of Materials in writingEvery component is listed with make, model and quantity on handover. That sheet is what lets you compare our quote with any other Amreli offer line by line.
Survey before any priceAn engineer measures the roof, maps shade from tanks and neighbouring floors, and reads your bill before quoting. The survey is free and there is no advance to start.

Where we are based

Heaven Green Energy is headquartered at Mota Varachha, Surat, and that is our only office. We serve Amreli and the wider Saurashtra region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They carry out the surveys, supervise installation and handle PGVCL coordination on the ground. We have no branch, address or local phone line in Amreli, and we would rather you heard that before signing than after.

How we work

From first call to a spinning net meter.

Going from first call to the first export credit on your PGVCL bill takes four stages. The durations are typical for Amreli and depend mostly on the sub-division queue.

01

Bill check by phone

From your PGVCL bill we note units, tariff category and sanctioned load, then give an indicative size and price band before any visit.

Same day
02

Roof survey

An engineer measures the shadow-free area, inspects the slab or shed, plans the cable route and fixes a cool spot for the inverter.

1–3 days
03

Approvals

Portal registration, the PGVCL application and feasibility approval. We send you updates at each stage instead of going quiet.

How Amreli's climate shapes the system

Amreli sits inland in Saurashtra, so salt mist is not the main threat. Heat, a long dry season and one concentrated monsoon are. India Meteorological Department normals for 1991 to 2020 show all three clearly.

Summer heat that peaks in May

Amreli's average daily high is 40.4°C in April and 41°C in May, and the station has recorded 46.2°C. Panels lose output as they get hotter, so the structure should hold them high enough for air to pass underneath. The inverter goes on a shaded, ventilated wall, never a west-facing one that bakes all afternoon.

Seven dry months and farm dust

From November to May Amreli gets almost no rain, and afternoon humidity drops to about 19% in March and April. Dust from fields, unpaved society lanes and harvest traffic settles on the glass without rain to wash it. On a roof near the mills or the market yard, cleaning every fortnight is a sensible starting point; we set it after seeing the site.

A short, heavy monsoon

Amreli receives about 615 mm of rain a year, and June to September bring nearly all of it. July alone averages about 213 mm over nine rain days. Cable entries need glands and sealing, the structure needs proper anchoring for monsoon gusts, and every earthing pit should be tested. Winter mornings dip to about 12°C, and those cool clear days are the best generating weather of the year.

Service area

Areas of Amreli we install in.

We cover the whole of Amreli municipality and the villages of Amreli taluka. If your street or village is missing from the list, send your pin code and we will confirm coverage the same day.

Questions

Solar in Amreli: every question answered.

17 questions Amreli buyers actually search for, including the ones competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.

Cost & subsidy

What does a solar panel system cost in Amreli in 2026?
A 3 kW home system runs about ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh before subsidy and ₹1.02 lakh to ₹1.47 lakh after the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar credit. A 5 kW system runs ₹2.85 lakh to ₹3.45 lakh before subsidy. These are indicative Amreli market ranges, not a quotation.
How much is the Amreli solar subsidy?
Up to ₹78,000 for a home. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 for each of the first two kW and ₹18,000 for the third. A 2 kW system therefore gets ₹60,000, and 3 kW or larger gets the full ₹78,000. It is a central scheme, identical across India.
Can an Amreli oil mill or market yard trader claim the subsidy?
No. PM Surya Ghar is for residential connections only. A mill, a trading firm or a shop on Tower Road claims accelerated depreciation on the solar asset instead, which for a profitable business often beats the household subsidy. Financing can keep the instalment under the bill being removed.
Is GST charged on rooftop solar in Amreli?
Yes. Rooftop solar systems attract 5% GST on the equipment since 22 Sep 2025, the same rate across Gujarat. A supply-and-install contract taxes 30% of the value as installation service at 18%, so the blended rate on a typical quote is about 8.9%. The price ranges on this page are indicative market figures. Your written quote should show the tax line separately so you can check it against the system price.

Net metering & DISCOM

Which PGVCL office handles net metering in Amreli?
PGVCL's Amreli Circle. Its listings place the Amreli Town, Amreli Rural and Chital sub-divisions under Amreli Division-1. Town meters usually fall under Amreli Town, and village or farmhouse meters under Amreli Rural or Chital. The sub-division printed on your bill is the one that receives your file.
How does PGVCL net metering work for an Amreli home?
PGVCL swaps your meter for a bidirectional one. Units your roof exports during the day are set against units you draw at night within the billing cycle, so you pay only for the net. GERC, the state regulator, fixes these terms, not PGVCL or the installer.
Can I put solar on my farmhouse outside Amreli under net metering?
Yes, on the farmhouse's domestic meter, and that connection can claim PM Surya Ghar. The agricultural pump connection is different: Gujarat runs farm supply on separate feeders with its own tariff, and solar for a pump goes through PM-KUSUM. See our PM-KUSUM page for that route.
How long does PGVCL approval take in Amreli?
Usually two to five weeks from application to feasibility approval, followed by inspection and the meter change after installation. The variable is the sub-division's workload. We file the papers, follow up with the office and tell you exactly where the file sits.

Sizing & performance

What monthly generation should I expect from solar in Amreli?
Expect 4 to 4.5 units per installed kW per day on about 5.5 peak sun hours. That means 360 to 405 units a month from 3 kW and 600 to 675 units from 5 kW. Output dips in July and August cloud and peaks in the clear winter months.
What size system suits my Amreli electricity bill?
As a guide, 2 kW suits bills up to ₹1,800 a month and 3 kW suits ₹2,000 to ₹3,500. A 5 kW system fits ₹3,500 to ₹6,000, and 10 kW fits ₹6,000 to ₹13,000. Above ₹13,000 you are into 25 kW and commercial sizing. Work from units, not the rupee total.
My house in the old town has a small roof. Will solar still work?
Often, yes. Homes in Manekpara, Jesingpara and the bazaar lanes are close-packed, so the question is shade, not size. About 300 sq ft of shadow-free roof fits 3 kW. A water tank or a taller neighbour can shade part of it, and the survey maps that before we quote.
How often should panels be cleaned in Amreli?
Plan on regular cleaning from November to May, when there is almost no rain and dust from fields and roads settles daily. Roofs near the oil mills, the market yard or unpaved society lanes may need it every week or two. The monsoon does part of the job from June to September.

Installation & service

How long does an Amreli installation take?
Two to four days on the roof for a home system once PGVCL feasibility is approved. From first call to generation usually takes four to eight weeks, and most of that is approval time at the sub-division rather than work on site.
Will the system cope with Amreli's 46°C summers and monsoon storms?
It should, if it is built for them. Look for a galvanised structure that keeps panels raised for airflow, an inverter mounted in shade, sealed cable glands and tested earthing. Amreli's rain falls mostly between June and September, so the first heavy storm tests the anchoring.
Who handles warranty claims after installation?
We do, through our field team. Modules are Adani, supplied through our authorised channel partnership, and inverters are Qbits, our group's own brand. Serial numbers are on your Bill of Materials, so any claim can be traced to the exact panel or inverter on your roof.
