Price, size and savings Find your bill. Read across.
Start with the figure in rupees, then check it against your own bill. Find the band that matches your last PGVCL bill in the left column. Then read across: system size, monthly units, the roof it needs and the cost once the subsidy is credited.
These are indicative Botad market ranges for 2026 for a complete on-grid system: Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, galvanised mounting, protection gear and installation. They are not a Heaven Green quotation, which follows a site survey. Subsidy figures are the central PM Surya Ghar amounts published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Rooftop solar systems attract 5% GST on the equipment since 22 Sep 2025. A supply-and-install contract taxes 30% of the value as installation service at 18%, so the blended rate on a typical quote is about 8.9%. Generation assumes a roughly south-facing roof with no shade.
Units decide the size, not the rupee total. Your PGVCL bill prints units consumed and the amount payable. Size the array from the units, because the amount swings with slab, fuel surcharge and duty while the units are what the panels actually replace. Two Botad households paying similar amounts can need different systems.
Why 3 kW is the usual answer for a Botad home. The subsidy pays ₹30,000 on each of the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 on the third, and nothing beyond. On a 3 kW system it covers close to a third of the price; on 10 kW it is closer to an eighth. If your bill sits on the border between two bands, the smaller size usually returns more per rupee.
Compare the parts list, not the headline. Two quotes for the same kW can differ in structure steel, cable size, earthing and surge protection, and those are what fail first on a dusty inland roof. Ask each vendor for a written Bill of Materials with make, model and quantity for every item. A quote without one cannot be compared fairly with one that has it.
Why there is no rupee saving in that table
The table gives units, not a rupee saving, and that is on purpose. What a generated unit is worth to you depends on the tariff slab printed on your own PGVCL bill. A residential connection in Sahakar Nagar Society is billed differently from a commercial one near the marketing yard. At the free survey we work the saving out from your bill, your slab and your sanctioned load, so the number you see is yours and not a district average. Prefer to work it out yourself first?
