The short answer
A 3 kW rooftop solar system in Gondal costs about ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh before subsidy. It falls to ₹1.02 lakh to ₹1.47 lakh after the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar credit. Each kW makes 4 to 4.5 units a day. PGVCL, through its Gondal division, handles net metering, and a home system pays back in 3.5 to 5 years.

Find your bill. Read across.
Gondal buyers ask for the price first, so here it is in rupees. Pick the row that matches your usual monthly PGVCL bill, then read across for system size and the indicative installed range before subsidy. The row also gives monthly units on Gondal's sun, the roof space you need and the payback period.

These are indicative Gondal market ranges for 2026, not a Heaven Green Energy quotation. They assume Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, a galvanised structure, protection gear and installation on a straightforward roof. Your own price moves with roof type, structure height, cable runs and civil work. Subsidy figures are the central PM Surya Ghar slabs from pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Rooftop solar systems attract 5% GST on the equipment since 22 Sep 2025. A supply-and-install contract taxes 30% of the value as installation service at 18%, so the blended rate on a typical quote is about 8.9%.
Read units off the bill, not the rupee total. Your PGVCL bill prints units consumed and sanctioned load. Those two numbers decide the array. The amount payable swings with slab and fuel charges, so sizing on it overshoots in summer and undershoots in winter.
The subsidy flattens out after 3 kW. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 a kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third. That is ₹78,000 at most. On a 3 kW system it covers roughly a third of the cost; on a 10 kW bungalow array it covers far less. If your bill sits on the line between two rows, the smaller size usually earns more per rupee.
Compare quotes by the parts list. Two Gondal quotes for the same kilowatts can hide very different steel, cable and earthing. Ask each vendor for a written Bill of Materials with make, model and quantity. A price with no parts list is not a price you can compare.
Why there is no rupee saving in that table
The table leaves out rupee savings on purpose. What a solar unit is worth to you depends on the slab you pay. A domestic connection in Bhagvatpara is billed differently from a shop on Moti Bazar or a mill at Jamvadi. Bring a recent bill to the survey and we will work your saving out from your own tariff, in front of you. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our
solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

How the subsidy works
Five steps, and we run four of them.
Gondal has no town-specific solar subsidy and Gujarat adds no top-up to the central one. PM Surya Ghar pays the same in Gondal as in any Indian city. The local part is the paperwork: your consumer number is with PGVCL, so PGVCL checks feasibility and fits the meter.
1
Register with your PGVCL consumer number
Registration happens on pmsuryaghar.gov.in using the consumer number on your PGVCL bill, plus Aadhaar, mobile number and address. Check the name on the bill first. Older Gondal houses often still carry a late parent's name on the connection, and the portal needs it to match.
2
Feasibility from PGVCL, then vendor selection
PGVCL reviews the request against your sanctioned load and confirms the system is feasible. You then choose an empanelled vendor on the portal. Heaven Green Energy is on that list, so your application links to us directly.
3
Installation after approval, not before
Fitting panels before feasibility is approved can cost you the subsidy outright. Once approval arrives we install Adani modules with recorded serial numbers and hand over the Bill of Materials and warranty papers at commissioning.
4
Inspection and bidirectional meter
A PGVCL officer inspects the system and the bidirectional meter goes in. That triggers the commissioning certificate on the portal. Our engineer is on site for the inspection so any query is settled on the roof.
5
Claim and bank credit
We lodge the claim as soon as the certificate issues. The government pays the subsidy straight into your bank account. It never passes through the installer, so walk away from anyone in Gondal who asks to receive it for you.
If you are a business, this section does not apply
PM Surya Ghar covers residential connections only. An oil mill, a ginning unit, a chilli trader's godown or a shop cannot claim it. Farm pump connections are also outside it; farmers should look at PM-KUSUM instead. Businesses usually recover more through accelerated depreciation than the residential subsidy would ever pay.
PGVCL (Paschim Gujarat Vij)
Net metering: who you actually file with.
Gondal net metering runs through PGVCL and no one else. Getting the licensee and office right at the start saves weeks.
Electricity in Gondal is distributed by Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL), the GUVNL company that supplies Saurashtra and Kutch from its corporate office in Rajkot. PGVCL's own listings place Gondal in its Rajkot Rural circle, under a Gondal division, with a town sub-division (shown as Gondal-T) serving connections inside the town. Village connections across the taluka are handled by rural sub-divisions, so we confirm the exact office from your bill before filing. Gondal is not part of any Torrent Power licence area, and UGVCL, MGVCL and DGVCL do not supply here.
PGVCL processes the file, but it does not write the rules. Those come from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), whose rooftop solar and net-metering framework applies to every licensee in the state. Exported units are set off against imported units on your bill rather than paid as cash, and the system rating is tied to your sanctioned load.
For a Gondal home this boils down to two lines on the bill: monthly units and sanctioned load in kW. A bungalow on Gundala Road that wants a bigger array than its sanctioned load allows needs a load enhancement first. We check that at the bill-review stage, not after the structure is up.
1

Solar for Gondal's businesses.
Gondal runs on groundnut, chilli and cotton, and the roofs that earn most from solar are the sheds that process them.
The town's economy rests on its groundnut oil mills and the Gondal Marketing Yard on the national highway. The yard is one of the busiest agricultural yards in Saurashtra and known across Gujarat for its red chilli arrivals. Oil mills, expellers and refiners cluster in the GIDC estate at Jamvadi (spelt Jamwadi on some signboards) on the Jetpur Road side and around the new market yard. Ginning and pressing units, cold storage and godowns are spread along the highway. These units share two things solar suits: daytime motor loads from expellers and conveyors, and wide sheet-metal roofs already standing.
Oil-mill sheds carry fine husk and seed dust, so the cleaning schedule goes into the AMC from day one.
Older sheds near the yard need a purlin and wind-load check before any rating is quoted.
Sizing is capped against sanctioned load, so a load enhancement may come before the array.
Farmhouses and farm pumps. Gondal taluka is groundnut, cotton and chilli country. Gujarat put farm pumps on separate agricultural feeders under Jyotigram Yojana, so a pump connection and a farmhouse connection are different accounts. A farmhouse on a domestic connection can go rooftop like any home. For pumps, see our PM-KUSUM page and the GEDA guide to KUSUM in Gujarat.

How Gondal's weather shapes the system
Gondal has no weather station of its own in the IMD normals, so the closest reference is Rajkot airport, about 38 km north on the same plateau. Those 1991 to 2020 figures describe a hot semi-arid climate: a long dry season, a short wet one, and summer heat that tests hardware. Three design choices follow.
Eight dry months and farm dust
Rajkot's normals put March humidity near 19% and almost no rain from November to May. Around Gondal, threshing, highway trucks and the yard's chilli and groundnut traffic add dust on top. Panels lose output quietly as dust builds. We set cleaning frequency by where your roof sits, closer to the yard or a mill means more often.
May highs near 41°C
May averages a daily high of about 41°C at Rajkot, with a recorded extreme of 47.9°C. Hot cells produce less, so we leave clear airflow under the modules on flat RCC slabs and mount the inverter in shade. An inverter left on a west-facing wall in a Gondal May will derate on exactly the afternoons you want it most.
A short monsoon that arrives hard
Rajkot averages about 776 mm of rain a year, nearly all of it from June to September, with July the wettest month at close to 290 mm. Most of it lands on about 30 rainy days. That means waterproofed roof penetrations, sealed cable glands, a galvanised frame anchored for squalls and earthing tested on a meter, not assumed.

Before you sign
Six things to check on any Gondal quote.
Including ours. Take this list to every vendor you speak to.
Make sure the paperwork names PGVCL and the sub-division on your bill. A Gondal file sent to Torrent Power or any other licensee goes nowhere.
Size the system on units consumed and sanctioned load, both printed on your PGVCL bill, not on the rupee total.
Get a written Bill of Materials from every vendor before comparing Gondal quotes.
Do not let anyone install before PGVCL feasibility approval arrives, or the ₹78,000 subsidy can be lost.
Mills, traders and farm pump connections cannot use PM Surya Ghar. Businesses look at depreciation; farmers look at PM-KUSUM.
Agree a written cleaning plan. Near the market yard, the GIDC or a threshing floor, dust costs more output than heat does.
Questions
Solar in Gondal: every question answered.
17 questions Gondal buyers actually search for, including the ones
competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.
Cost & subsidy
What is the solar panel price in Gondal in 2026?
A 3 kW rooftop system costs about ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh before subsidy, or ₹1.02 lakh to ₹1.47 lakh after the ₹78,000 credit. A 5 kW system runs ₹2.85 lakh to ₹3.45 lakh before subsidy. These are indicative Gondal market ranges, not a quotation.
How much is the Gondal solar subsidy?
Up to ₹78,000 under PM Surya Ghar: ₹30,000 a kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, nothing beyond. A 2 kW home gets ₹60,000. The scheme is central, so the amount is the same in Gondal as anywhere in India.
Can my oil mill at GIDC Jamvadi get the solar subsidy?
No. PM Surya Ghar is for residential connections only. A mill, ginning unit or trading firm claims accelerated depreciation on the solar asset instead, which for a profitable business is usually worth more. Zero down payment financing is also available.
What GST applies to a rooftop solar system in Gondal?
Rooftop solar systems attract 5% GST on the equipment since 22 Sep 2025. A supply-and-install contract taxes 30% of the value as installation service at 18%, so the blended rate on a typical quote is about 8.9%. Some older quotes still circulating in Gondal were priced at the earlier rate, so ask every vendor to show the tax line separately and check it against the current 5%.
Net metering & DISCOM
Which DISCOM handles net metering in Gondal?
Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited, PGVCL. Gondal falls in its Rajkot Rural circle under the Gondal division, with a town sub-division for connections inside Gondal. Torrent Power, UGVCL, MGVCL and DGVCL do not supply here.
How does PGVCL net metering work for a Gondal rooftop?
PGVCL replaces your meter with a bidirectional one. Units you export are set off against units you import, and you pay for the net. The rules come from GERC, the state regulator, so they are the same for every PGVCL consumer in Gondal.
My farmhouse is near Kolithad. Which PGVCL office handles it?
Village connections are handled by PGVCL's rural sub-divisions, not the town office. Your bill shows the sub-division that reads your meter, and that is where the net-metering file goes. We confirm it from the bill before filing anything.
How long does PGVCL approval take in Gondal?
Usually two to five weeks from application to feasibility approval, followed by inspection and the meter change after installation. The sub-division's queue sets the pace. We file, chase and tell you where the file sits.
Sizing & performance
How many units will solar generate in Gondal?
About 4 to 4.5 units per kW per day on roughly 5.5 peak sun hours. A 3 kW system gives 360 to 405 units a month and a 5 kW system 600 to 675. Inland Saurashtra sits near the top of the Indian range.
What size system suits my Gondal electricity bill?
As a guide, 2 kW covers bills up to ₹1,800 a month and 3 kW covers ₹2,000 to ₹3,500. For ₹3,500 to ₹6,000 it is 5 kW, and for ₹6,000 to ₹13,000, 10 kW. Above ₹13,000 you are into 25 kW and commercial sizes. Check units and sanctioned load too.
Does dust from the market yard and farms cut solar output in Gondal?
Yes. Dust is the biggest avoidable loss here. The yard's truck traffic, threshing season and oil-mill husk all settle on glass during the dry months. Roofs close to the highway or GIDC need more frequent cleaning, which we write into the AMC.
How much roof space do I need on a Gondal house?
About 200 sq ft for 2 kW, 300 sq ft for 3 kW, 500 sq ft for 5 kW and 700 to 1,000 sq ft for 10 kW, all shadow-free. In the older bazaar lanes a neighbour's upper floor or a water tank often decides what fits.
Installation & service
How long does installation take in Gondal?
Two to four days on site for a home once PGVCL approval is in. From first call to generation usually takes four to eight weeks, and nearly all of that is paperwork rather than roof work.
Can you install on an oil-mill or godown shed roof?
Yes, after a structural check. Sheet roofs on older sheds around the yard need their purlins and fixings assessed and a wind-load design for the frame. We do not quote a rating until the survey confirms the shed can carry it.
Who services the system after installation?
Our field team. Modules are Adani, inverters are Qbits, and serial numbers sit on your Bill of Materials, so warranty claims are traceable. An AMC covers cleaning visits, which matter in Gondal's dry season.
About Heaven Green
Does Heaven Green Energy have an office in Gondal?
No. We have one office, at Mota Varachha in Surat. Gondal is served by our channel partner network and field engineering team, who run surveys, supervise installation and coordinate with PGVCL. We would rather you knew that before signing.
Is Heaven Green Energy a solar company I can trust in Gondal?
We have installed since 2017 and passed 10,000 installations. We are an authorised channel partner of Adani for modules, use Qbits inverters and give a written Bill of Materials on every job. Put that list beside any Gondal quote.
