Chhota Udaipur is supplied by Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL), the GUVNL distribution company for central Gujarat, headquartered in Vadodara. MGVCL's own contact directory lists a Chhota Udaipur sub-division, spelt Chotaudepur there and Chhota-udepur by India Post. It sits under the Bodeli O&M Division, which reports to the Baroda O&M Circle. The same division runs separate sub-divisions for Kawant, Tejgadh, Pavi Jetpur, Naswadi and Bodeli. A village house near Kawant or Tejgadh may therefore sit with a different sub-division from a house in town. The name is printed on your bill.
The town is outside every Torrent Power licence area, and UGVCL, DGVCL and PGVCL have no role in this district. Across the border in Madhya Pradesh a different state utility applies, so a home on that side cannot use a Gujarat MGVCL application.
The terms come from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), which publishes the rooftop solar and net-metering framework for every licensee in the state. Your sanctioned load limits your system size, and both domestic and non-domestic consumers may apply. Exported units are set off against imported units on the bill instead of being paid out in cash.
Two figures on the bill therefore decide the design: the units you consume each month and your sanctioned load in kW. If the array you need is bigger than the load allows, an application to raise the load goes to MGVCL first. We check both before quoting.
