The short answer

Rooftop solar in Dewas costs about ₹1.85 lakh to ₹2.30 lakh for a 3 kW system before subsidy. After the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar grant, it costs ₹1.07 lakh to ₹1.52 lakh. Each kilowatt returns 4 to 4.5 units a day on a shadow-free roof. MPPKVVCL, the West Discom, issues net metering in Dewas. Payback lands between three and a half and five years.

Price, size and savings

Find your bill. Read across.

Here is the whole Dewas price question answered in one table, rather than behind a callback form. Find your monthly bill in the first column. Read across for system size, monthly units, the shadow-free roof it needs, the subsidy that applies and what you actually pay.

Indicative Dewas market ranges, 2026

These are indicative Dewas market ranges for 2026 covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, a galvanised mounting structure, protection devices, cabling and labour. They are not a Heaven Green quotation. Subsidy figures are the central PM Surya Ghar amounts published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shadow-free roof facing broadly south.

Size against units, not against rupees. The rupee total on an MPPKVVCL bill moves with slab rates, fixed charges and whatever duty applies that year. The units figure is the thing an array actually cancels, so read the consumption column on your bill and size to that. Households with an evening-heavy load in the Dewas summer often find a 5 kW array clears the bill that a 3 kW array only dents.

The subsidy stops dead after 3 kW. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 per kilowatt for the first two, ₹18,000 for the third and nothing beyond. The grant therefore covers roughly a third of a 3 kW system and closer to an eighth of a 10 kW one. If you are hovering between the two, price both before you decide, because the decision is financial rather than technical.

In Dewas the cheap quote is cheap in the steel and the cleaning plan. This is a dusty industrial town with a documented water shortage, so galvanising thickness, cable gauge and a realistic washing routine matter more here than a slightly higher module rating. Ask any vendor for a written Bill of Materials with make, model, quantity, galvanising thickness and cable gauge. Without one you are comparing two numbers, not two systems.

Why there is no rupee saving in that table

The table shows no rupee saving, and that is deliberate. Your saving depends on the tariff slab printed on your own MPPKVVCL bill, which shifts with consumer category, sanctioned load and how much you actually draw. An average figure would flatter some Dewas households and mislead others. Bring your last bill to the free survey and we work the real number out in front of you. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

₹78,000

Maximum central subsidy for a residential rooftop system.

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
  • Nothing paid above 3 kW
  • Credited directly to your bank account
  • We file the entire claim for you
How the subsidy works

Five steps, and we run four of them.

There is no special Dewas subsidy, whatever a doorstep salesman tells you. PM Surya Ghar is a central scheme paying identical amounts in every Indian city. What is local is the utility that processes your file, and in Dewas that is MPPKVVCL, the West Discom, through its Dewas circle and city division.

1

Register on the National Portal

You register at pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your MPPKVVCL consumer number, mobile, Aadhaar and address. We sit with you while you do it. A consumer number copied from an old paper bill rather than current discom records is the commonest reason a Dewas file stalls at step one.

2

Ask for feasibility, then map your vendor

MPPKVVCL checks the application against your sanctioned load and the state of your distribution transformer. You then pick an empanelled vendor. Heaven Green Energy is empanelled, so your application maps across to us without being refiled from the beginning.

3

Install only once approval is in hand

Work starts after feasibility is granted and never before. We supply Adani modules with traceable serial numbers, and you get a Bill of Materials plus the warranty schedule at handover. An array built ahead of approval forfeits the subsidy outright, with no appeal.

4

Inspection and net meter

MPPKVVCL inspects the installation and fits the bidirectional meter, which releases the commissioning certificate on the national portal. Our engineer stands on the roof during that inspection so a query gets settled there rather than by email a fortnight later.

5

Claim, then bank credit

We lodge the claim the day the certificate issues, and the government credits your bank account directly. The money never passes through us. Any Dewas vendor offering to collect the subsidy on your behalf is telling you something useful about themselves.

If you are a business, this section does not apply

PM Surya Ghar is residential only. A Dewas soya plant, auto-component unit, hotel, coaching institute or showroom cannot claim a rupee of it. Those buyers take accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, and for a taxpaying business that route often returns more over the first few years than the residential grant ever would.

MPPKVVCL (MP West Discom)

Net metering: who you actually file with.

This is the part competing Dewas pages get wrong, and the error costs you weeks of queue time and the export credits you were counting on.

Dewas is supplied by Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited (MPPKVVCL), the West Discom, headquartered in Indore and operating through mpwz.co.in. Dewas is not an outpost of the Indore office. The district directory lists a Superintending Engineer for the MPPKVVCL Dewas circle and an Executive Engineer for the city division. It also lists separate operation and maintenance divisions at Bagli, Sonkatch and Kannod. Madhya Pradesh runs three distribution companies, legally separate, with separate portals and separate queues. MPMKVVCL, the Central Discom, covers Bhopal, Gwalior and Chambal. MPPoKVVCL, the East Discom, covers Jabalpur, Rewa and Sagar. Neither has any authority over a Dewas connection, and an application sent to either goes nowhere slowly.

Commercial terms come from the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC), not from the discom and not from your installer. Under the MPERC framework your system is capped at your sanctioned load, and every consumer category may apply. Exported units are credited against units you later import rather than paid out as cash. If you want a larger array, raise your sanctioned load first. That is an ordinary MPPKVVCL application and far cheaper than replacing an undersized system in year three.

The practical consequence is that your feasibility check, your inspecting engineer and your escalation route all sit inside MPPKVVCL's Dewas circle. Guidance written for a Bhopal rooftop, down to which portal to log into, simply does not apply here. We file with the correct licensee on day one and follow it up through the same circle office that issued it.

1

Application and feasibility

We submit the net-metering application with your bill, identity proof, roof layout and single-line diagram. MPPKVVCL checks it against your sanctioned load and the loading on your local transformer.

Filed by us
2

Technical approval

The discom returns a technical feasibility approval, sometimes with a condition attached about load or inverter rating. We answer the condition rather than passing the letter to you to decipher.

3

Installation and testing

We build the array, earth it, commission the inverter and test the protection settings. Then we submit the completion report so the inspection can be scheduled without an extra round trip.

4

Inspection and bidirectional meter

MPPKVVCL inspects and installs the bidirectional meter. From that date your exported units start accruing as credit, and your first post-solar bill shows both directions.

Not a home?

Solar for Dewas's businesses.

Not a home? Dewas earns its living from industry, and industrial roofs are where the arithmetic is sharpest.

Dewas is unusually industrial for its size. The Bank Note Press, a currency printing unit of SPMCIL established in 1974, sits on a 185-hectare campus with its own security-ink factory and around 1,400 residential quarters. The Dewas Industrial Estate and the surrounding belt hold soya and food processing, auto components and engineering, and pharmaceuticals. Names on the ground include Kriti Nutrients, Mittal Soya Protein, Prestige Agro-Tech and Adani Agri Logistics in soya. In engineering there are Gajra Gears, Eicher Motors, Cummins Turbo Technologies, John Deere, Kirloskar and Tata International, and in pharmaceuticals Sun Pharma. The town is widely described as India's soya capital.

Renewables are not new to this district either. More than a hundred wind turbines stand on the hills roughly 13 km from Dewas, producing around 60 MW, much of it financed through Suzlon Energy. Local officers are therefore used to handling generation on the network, which makes a commercial rooftop application here a routine file rather than an unfamiliar one. The sizing question for a Dewas plant is still the same as for a house: read the sanctioned load, read twelve months of units, then design. A shed roof that looks enormous often supports a smaller array than the owner expects once sheet condition, purlin spacing and existing services are surveyed properly.

Why us

Why Dewas customers choose Heaven Green Energy

Since 2017 we have completed more than 10,000 installations across residential, commercial and industrial rooftops. Here is what that buys a Dewas buyer specifically.

Adani modules, Qbits invertersWe are an authorised channel partner of Adani and we manufacture our own Qbits inverters. Two of the three cost drivers sit inside our own supply chain, which is why our Bill of Materials survives being read line by line.
The discom paperwork is oursRegistration, feasibility, net-metering application, inspection, commissioning certificate and subsidy claim. We file the lot with the correct MPPKVVCL circle. Your job is signing, not queueing at a division office.
Priced against your bill, not a templateThe survey starts with your last twelve months of units. An array sized from a salesman's guess either overshoots your sanctioned load or leaves half the bill standing. Both mistakes cost more than the survey saves.
Nothing payable to startThe survey, the shadow analysis and the written proposal cost nothing and carry no obligation. If the payback does not work on your roof we say so, which is cheaper for both of us than an unhappy commissioning.

Where we are based

Heaven Green Energy is headquartered at Mota Varachha, Surat. We serve Dewas and the wider Malwa region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They run the surveys, supervise the installation and handle MPPKVVCL coordination on the ground. There is no Heaven Green branch office in Dewas, and we tell you that before you sign rather than after.

How we work

From first call to a spinning net meter.

Four steps from your first call to the day your meter starts running backwards.

01

Bill review and call back

Send your last MPPKVVCL bill and pin code. An engineer reads the consumption history and calls back with an indicative size, cost after subsidy and payback range.

Same day
02

Site survey and proposal

We measure usable shadow-free roof, check the slab and the existing earthing, run a shadow analysis and issue a written proposal with a full Bill of Materials.

2 to 4 days
03

Paperwork and approval

We register you on the national portal, file the net-metering application and chase feasibility through the Dewas circle. Timelines here are the discom's, and we do not pretend otherwise.

04

Install, inspect, commission

Structure, modules, inverter, protection and earthing go up, then MPPKVVCL inspects and fits the bidirectional meter. We lodge the subsidy claim the day the certificate issues.

What Dewas weather does to a solar system

Dewas sits at 535 metres on the Malwa plateau, which buys you clear skies and strong irradiance for most of the year. It also brings heat, dust and a short violent monsoon. Each one changes a design decision.

Pre-monsoon heat cuts module output

Silicon loses output as it heats, so the hottest Dewas afternoons of April and May are not the highest-generating ones. The fix is airflow, not a bigger array. We raise the structure so air moves under the modules, keep string lengths inside the inverter's temperature window, and site the inverter in shade rather than on a west-facing wall.

Industrial and plateau dust is the real thief

Dewas combines black-soil plateau dust with traffic on the Agra–Bombay road and an industrial belt, and a fortnight of undisturbed soiling measurably drops generation. Dewas also has a documented water shortage, so a cleaning plan that assumes unlimited hose water is fiction. We design roof access and a tap point for quick, low-volume cleaning.

The monsoon arrives in concentrated bursts

Rain here is heavily front-loaded into July, with the bulk of the year's total falling between June and September. That means sustained wind loading and water sitting on flat roofs. We fix the structure to the slab rather than ballasting it, route cable above standing-water level, and seal every penetration before the first rain rather than after a complaint.

Questions

Solar in Dewas: every question answered.

17 questions Dewas buyers actually search for, including the ones competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.

Cost & subsidy

What is the price of a 3 kW solar system in Dewas?
Roughly ₹1.85 lakh to ₹2.30 lakh installed before subsidy. After the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar grant you carry about ₹1.07 lakh to ₹1.52 lakh. That is an indicative Dewas market range covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, structure, protection and labour, not a Heaven Green quotation.
How much subsidy do I get for rooftop solar in Dewas?
Up to ₹78,000. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 per kilowatt for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, then nothing. It is a central scheme, so the amount is identical in Dewas, Indore and every other Indian city. There is no separate Dewas top-up.
Is a 5 kW system worth it in Dewas instead of 3 kW?
It depends on your units, not your preference. A 5 kW array runs ₹2.90 lakh to ₹3.50 lakh and produces 600 to 675 units a month, but the subsidy stays capped at ₹78,000. If your bill sits in the ₹3,500 to ₹6,000 band, 5 kW usually clears it outright.
Can I get solar in Dewas with no advance payment?
Yes. The survey, shadow analysis and written proposal cost nothing and carry no obligation. Finance through an EMI partner is available on residential systems, and businesses that cannot budget capex this year should read our zero down payment solar guide before deciding.

Net metering & DISCOM

Which electricity company handles solar net metering in Dewas?
MPPKVVCL, Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited, the West Discom. Dewas has its own MPPKVVCL circle office with a Superintending Engineer and a city division. Files for Bhopal or Jabalpur go to different companies entirely and carry no weight here.
Is Dewas served by MPPKVVCL or MPMKVVCL?
MPPKVVCL, the West Discom. MPMKVVCL is the Central Discom and covers Bhopal, Gwalior and Chambal. MPPoKVVCL is the East Discom and covers Jabalpur, Rewa and Sagar. The three are legally separate companies with separate portals, so applying to the wrong one simply wastes weeks.
How large a system will MPPKVVCL approve on my Dewas roof?
Up to your sanctioned load, under the MPERC framework. If your sanctioned load is 3 kW you will not get a 5 kW net meter approved. Raising the sanctioned load is a routine MPPKVVCL application and far cheaper than replacing an undersized array in year three.
What happens to the units my Dewas system exports?
They are credited against units you import later, not paid out as cash. That is the MPERC framework, and it is why sizing to your own consumption matters more than maximising array size. A system that exports constantly and imports rarely banks credit you never use.

Sizing & performance

How many units will 1 kW generate in Dewas?
Four to 4.5 units a day as an annual mean on a shadow-free roof. Dewas sits at 535 metres on the Malwa plateau with about 5.5 peak sun hours, which is towards the strong end of the Indian range. Monsoon weeks run below that and the dry season above it.
How much roof do I need for solar in Dewas?
About 300 sq ft of shadow-free roof for 3 kW and about 500 sq ft for 5 kW. Shadow-free is the operative word. An overhead water tank, a parapet or a neighbour's stair block can remove two productive hours a day from an otherwise adequate terrace.
Does Dewas dust reduce solar generation?
Yes, measurably. Plateau dust, traffic on the Agra–Bombay road and the industrial belt all soil modules, and a fortnight without cleaning shows up in the generation figures. Dewas also has a documented water shortage, so agree a low-volume cleaning routine and roof access at design stage.
Will my system work through the Dewas monsoon?
It works, at reduced output. Rain here is concentrated into July with the bulk falling June to September, so those months generate below the annual mean and the dry season generates above it. Net metering exists precisely so the surplus months cover the weak ones.

Installation & service

How long does a Dewas solar installation take end to end?
Site work is two to four days. The overall timeline is set by MPPKVVCL feasibility approval and the inspection date, which we chase but do not control. Anyone quoting you a guaranteed total in weeks is quoting the discom's calendar without the discom's agreement.
Does Heaven Green Energy have an office in Dewas?
No. We are headquartered at Mota Varachha, Surat, and serve Dewas through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They run the survey, supervise installation and handle MPPKVVCL coordination on the ground. We state that before you sign rather than after.
What maintenance does a Dewas rooftop system need?
Regular cleaning and an annual electrical check. In a dusty industrial town cleaning is the item that actually moves your generation figures, so the design should give you safe roof access and a water point. Modules carry long performance warranties; dirt is not a warranty claim.

About Heaven Green

Who is Heaven Green Energy?
A solar EPC operating since 2017 with more than 10,000 installations completed. We are an authorised channel partner of Adani, we manufacture Qbits inverters in-house, and we are empanelled under PM Surya Ghar. That empanelment is what lets us map your national portal application directly to us.
Can Heaven Green handle an industrial rooftop in Dewas?
Yes. Dewas industrial roofs suit solar well: daytime-heavy loads and large flat sheds. Businesses cannot claim PM Surya Ghar, so the tax route is accelerated depreciation on the asset. Our commercial installations run from tens of kilowatts to several hundred.
