Price, size and savings Find your bill. Read across.
Most Ujjain solar pages hide the price behind a callback form or repeat a national average that fits nobody. This table answers the whole question. Find your monthly bill on the left, then read across for size, output, roof area and what you actually pay after subsidy. The bands cover a complete installed system: modules, inverter, structure, protection, cabling and labour. Nothing in that table is a deposit price or a panel-only price.
Indicative Ujjain market ranges for 2026, covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, galvanised structure, protection and installation. These are not a Heaven Green quotation. Subsidy amounts are the central PM Surya Ghar figures published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shadow-free, roughly south-facing roof.
Size against units, not rupees. Read the units figure off your last MPPKVVCL bill rather than the amount payable, because units are what a solar system cancels. Shadow-free matters as much as area. In the lanes around Ram Ghat and Dani Gate, roofs sit close together. A neighbour's water tank shading the array for two hours a day quietly removes a tenth of your annual output. An elevated structure costs more steel and earns it back.
Watch the roof you are quoting on. Ujjain has a wide mix of stock: RCC terraces in Freeganj and the newer colonies, older load-bearing roofs in the old city, and sheet roofs on mandi and industrial sheds. Each takes a different mounting design, and a vendor who quotes a price before seeing the roof is quoting a guess. The survey exists to settle that question, not to sell you anything.
The 3 kW cliff is real. PM Surya Ghar pays nothing above 3 kW, so the subsidy covers 34 to 42% of a 3 kW system and only 12 to 15% of a 10 kW one. If your consumption sits on the border, 3 kW returns more rupees per rupee spent.
A cheap Ujjain quote is cheap in the steel, not the glass. Galvanising thickness, cable gauge, earthing and surge protection separate the bottom of each band from the top. One local warning: quotes pitched at hotels and dharamshalas around the temple belt are often sized on Simhastha-season occupancy rather than an ordinary month. That oversizes the system and fails feasibility. Ask for a written Bill of Materials with make, model and quantity, or you are not comparing prices at all.
Why there is no rupee saving in that table
You will notice no rupee saving in that table. The rupee figure depends on the tariff slab you personally sit in, which is printed on your own MPPKVVCL bill and differs between consumers and categories. Guessing it here would be dishonest. Bring your last bill to the free survey and we work the exact number out with you, in front of you. That is also the visit where we tell you if solar is a poor fit for your roof, which happens often enough to be worth saying out loud. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our
