Price, size and savings Find your bill. Read across.
Most pages written for Khandwa quote a national average or hide the number behind a form. This one does neither. Find your monthly bill in the left column, then read across for the system size, what it generates here, the shadow-free roof it needs, and what it costs after subsidy.
These are indicative Khandwa market ranges for 2026, covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, galvanised structure, protection and installation. They are not a Heaven Green quotation. Subsidy figures are the central PM Surya Ghar amounts published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shadow-free, roughly south-facing roof.
Size against units, not rupees. Read the units figure off your last MPPKVVCL bill, because units are what a rooftop system cancels. The rupee amount moves with slab rates and arrears, so it will mislead you. Shadow-free matters as much as area: a water tank, a parapet or a neighbour's extra floor shading the array two hours a day removes more output than buyers expect.
The 3 kW cliff is real. The subsidy pays ₹30,000 per kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, then nothing at all. So it covers 34 to 42% of a 3 kW system and only 12 to 15% of a 10 kW one. On a borderline bill, 3 kW returns more rupees per rupee spent.
A cheap Khandwa quote is cheap in the steel, not the glass. Galvanising thickness, cable gauge, earthing and surge protection decide whether an array survives a Nimar June. Ask for a written Bill of Materials with make, model and quantity on every line. Khandwa district already hosts large solar and thermal generation, so solar sells itself here and the door-to-door trade has followed. Familiarity is not diligence: check the paperwork anyway.
Why there is no rupee saving in that table
There is no rupee saving in that table, and that is deliberate. What you save depends on the slab rate printed on your own bill, and that differs between two households on the same Khandwa street with the same sanctioned load. We will not guess it for you. Bring your last bill to the free survey and we will work the exact figure out with you, in front of you. We use your own tariff and your own twelve months of consumption.
