Rooftop solar for factories in Halol GIDC.
Halol GIDC sheds draw most of their power while the sun is up, which is the load a rooftop plant serves best. We start from your MGVCL bills and shift pattern, check the shed's purlins, then design a plant your sanctioned load allows. Modules come through an authorised channel partner of Adani; inverters are Qbits.

The short answer
A factory in Halol GIDC is an MGVCL consumer, and MGVCL keeps a sub-division named Halol GIDC for the estate. Your rooftop file goes to the office printed on your bill. One kW on an unshaded shed makes 4 to 4.5 units a day, so 300 kW gives about 4.38 to 4.93 lakh units a year. Factories receive no PM Surya Ghar subsidy. The tax lever is 40% accelerated depreciation, and anything over 25 kW is priced after a load study.

Two Halol estates, one licensee, very different roofs
GIDC runs two estates under the Halol name. The older one is full; the newer Halol-2 and Masvad estate is still allotting land. Which one you sit in tells us a lot about your shed before we visit.
GIDC's land portal, read in October 2026, lists the original Halol estate in Panchmahal as saturated. It carries 928 plots over roughly 408 hectares, and 825 of them are allotted. Saturated means fresh land goes only by public auction, or to a neighbour who wants to expand. Units here tend to be established, and many sheds have been extended or re-roofed more than once.
The second listing, Halol-2 & Halol-Masvad, is far larger and still open. The portal counts 1,209 plots across about 758 hectares, with 708 allotted and 501 waiting for buyers. Industrial, commercial and utility plots remain on offer there. In practice that means a mix of working factories and sheds still under construction, sometimes on adjoining plots.
All of it is MGVCL supply. MGVCL's contact directory places a Halol GIDC sub-division under its Godhra O&M Circle, beside separate Halol Town and Halol Rural offices. Do not assume your unit falls to the GIDC office because of the address; read the sub-division on the bill. We name no company in either estate as a client. You get a sizing method tied to your own meter data.
Fabrication, machining and press work
Welding bays, lathes, CNC centres and power presses typically work a single day shift. Their draw rises at nine and falls by six, which tracks the solar curve closely. You consume nearly every unit as it is made, so export credit matters much less to your sums.
Assembly and component lines
Lines that put sub-assemblies together for larger plants run on conveyors, torque tools, lighting and test benches. The load is moderate but steady through the shift. A plant sized near your daytime average avoids exporting at lunch breaks while still covering most working hours.
Heat treatment, moulding and ovens
Furnaces, heater bands, curing ovens and injection moulders pull heavy current and often run past sunset. Solar covers only the daylight share of that energy. We take your meter's time-of-day pattern, or log it ourselves, before suggesting a rating, so night load does not inflate the plant.
Compressors, cooling and shop ventilation
Air compressors, chillers and roof extractors work hardest in the April and May heat, exactly when panels produce most. These motors often set your recorded maximum demand. We note their nameplate ratings at survey, because they decide how solar interacts with your demand charges.
How the numbers work for a Halol factory
We measure a factory plant in units first. Your tariff category, demand charges and daytime use turn those units into money, and we only work that out from your own MGVCL bills, never from an assumption.
Daylight consumption decides the useful size. Each kW on a clean Halol shed gives 4 to 4.5 units a day across the year. A 100 kW plant therefore yields about 1.46 to 1.64 lakh units annually, and 500 kW about 7.30 to 8.21 lakh. Set those figures against what your meter records between nine and five. Units you burn on site as they are generated are worth the most, because they displace the units you would otherwise buy.
Sanctioned load sets the ceiling. MGVCL checks a rooftop request against the load or contract demand on your connection. A large roof on a small connection cannot carry a plant to match the roof. Solar also trims units more readily than it trims recorded peak demand: a cloudy afternoon with every machine running still sets the maximum. If you plan to add lines, ask about a load enhancement before we finalise the rating.
Tax takes the place of subsidy. PM Surya Ghar is for homes. A profitable firm that owns its plant can claim 40% accelerated depreciation on solar power generating systems under Appendix I of the Income Tax Rules. Since 22 Sep 2025, GST is 5% on equipment and 18% on the service share, taken as 30% of a turnkey contract, about 8.9% blended. For scale, 25 kW in Gujarat sits in a market band of ₹10.75 lakh to ₹13.50 lakh, roughly ₹43,000 to ₹54,000 per kW. Bigger plants are priced only after a load study.
| Plant size | Units a year |
|---|---|
| 25 kW | 36,500 – 41,063 |
| 50 kW | 73,000 – 82,125 |
| 100 kW | 1,46,000 – 1,64,250 |
| 250 kW | 3,65,000 – 4,10,625 |
| 500 kW | 7,30,000 – 8,21,250 |
Indicative installed cost at 25 kW: ₹10.75–13.50 lakh (market range, not a quotation). Larger plants are priced after a load study of your bills and roof.

What we check on a Halol GIDC shed
A sound roof comes before any layout. After that we plan for wind, cleaning access and monsoon leaks, and last for a clean, documented tie-in to your switchgear and MGVCL's metering.
Old sheets and tired purlins
In the original estate many roofs are old asbestos or galvanised sheet over steel purlins that have rusted at the laps. We measure purlin section, spacing and thickness, look for corrosion, and calculate the extra dead load. Fragile sheets mean a plan to replace or bypass them, priced and agreed before you sign.
Fixing, uplift and walkways
Mounting rails clamp to purlins, not to the sheet alone, and every penetration is sealed for the July and August rains. We leave cleaning walkways, keep skylights and ridge ventilators clear, and bond all metalwork to earth. Lightning protection is laid out for your roof height and array footprint, not copied from a drawing.
Inverters, protection and MGVCL interface
Qbits inverters sit near the main LT panel to keep AC runs short and losses low. The single-line diagram shows DC and AC isolators, surge devices, earth pits and the meter arrangement MGVCL asks for. On an HT connection the plant ties in on the LT side of your transformer, and the drawing makes that explicit.
Approvals: who does what.
MGVCL has to clear the plant before it is energised. We assemble the file, keep drawings in step with what is built, and attend the inspection so questions close on the spot.
Load study and single-line diagram
Twelve months of bills, your sanctioned load and the connection type go into a rating proposal. We survey the shed, then issue a layout and single-line diagram fit for MGVCL's review.
UsApplication to the sub-division on your bill
We file on your consumer number with plant rating, diagram and equipment datasheets. MGVCL checks the request against your sanctioned load and the local feeder, then approves it or returns comments.
Us, then MGVCLBuild to drawing and test records
Installation follows the approved design. We compile earthing readings, insulation tests and protection settings. Where the plant size calls for Electrical Inspectorate clearance, we prepare and chase that file too.
UsInspection, metering and energisation
MGVCL inspects the plant and fits or certifies the meters. Generation shows on your bill from energisation onward. Our engineer is on site that day to answer anything the inspector raises.
MGVCLThree ways to fund the plant.
There are three ways to pay for a factory plant. Your tax position and whether you want the asset on your balance sheet decide which suits you.
Own capital
The company owns the plant outright and claims 40% accelerated depreciation from the year it is first used. This fits a taxpaying unit with spare funds or headroom on existing limits. Every unit the roof makes is yours, and our AMC handles inspections, cleaning plans and inverter checks.
Bank term loan or equipment finance
Banks and NBFCs lend to MSMEs for solar, and you stay the owner for depreciation. We hand over the quotation, bill of materials and generation estimate a lender asks for. The lender sets rate, margin and tenure, so compare the full cost of each offer rather than the headline rate.
Developer-owned plant (RESCO)
A developer installs and owns the plant on your roof and bills you for the units it supplies. You put in no capital and claim no depreciation. Read the tenure, buy-out terms and roof-access clauses closely, and check your GIDC lease permits the arrangement before signing.
How the project runs.
A Halol GIDC project runs in five stages. Timing depends on plant size and on MGVCL's queue at the time.
Where we work from
Heaven Green Energy has one office, at Mota Varachha, Surat. There is no branch in Halol or anywhere in Panchmahal. Halol GIDC work is run by engineers who travel from Surat, with our channel partner network helping on surveys and site supervision across Central Gujarat. You will know who is accountable for your roof before you sign.
Bills and shift pattern · Week 1
You send bills and working hours. We compare your daytime units with expected generation and agree a size range before anyone travels to the estate.
Shed survey · Week 1 to 2
Our engineer comes from Surat to record purlins, sheet condition, shade from vents or neighbouring sheds, and the cable route to your main panel.
Design and firm price · Week 2 to 3
You receive the layout, single-line diagram, generation estimate in units and a fixed quotation. Nothing is ordered until you approve the design in writing.
MGVCL approval · Depends on queue
We lodge the file with your sub-division and reply to its queries. Material is staged during this wait so work starts soon after approval.
Installation and handover · Plant-size dependent
We work around your shifts, test the plant, attend MGVCL's inspection and hand over monitoring access. AMC cover begins on the commissioning date.
What businesses say after a year.
These reviews come from industrial and commercial customers in Bharuch, Anand and Surat. None is from Halol GIDC, and each carries the city where the plant was actually built.

Six things to check with any vendor.
- Halol GIDC buys power from MGVCL; the rooftop file goes to the sub-division printed on your bill.
- GIDC lists two estates: the full original Halol estate and the still-allotting Halol-2 and Masvad estate.
- Each kW on a clean shed makes 4 to 4.5 units a day, so 100 kW gives about 1.46 to 1.64 lakh units a year.
- Your sanctioned load caps the plant, so plan a load enhancement first if you are expanding.
- Factories claim 40% accelerated depreciation instead of a subsidy, and GST is about 8.9% blended.
- Plants above 25 kW get a price only after a load study and a shed survey.
