Rooftop solar for factories in Waghodia GIDC.
Your unit in Waghodia GIDC pays for grid power through the same daylight hours a shed-roof plant generates. We survey the roof and size the plant against your MGVCL bill and sanctioned load. We prepare the file for the Waghodia sub-division, then build with Qbits inverters and modules supplied as an authorised channel partner of Adani.

The short answer
Factories in Waghodia GIDC, east of Vadodara, take power from Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL), whose directory lists a Waghodia sub-division under its Baroda (O&M) Circle. A shed-roof plant here yields 4 to 4.5 units per kW daily, so 200 kW gives about 2.92 to 3.29 lakh units a year. Your firm claims 40% accelerated depreciation, not PM Surya Ghar. Plants above 25 kW are priced after a load study.

A taluka estate on the eastern side of Vadodara
Waghodia GIDC sits in Waghodia taluka, outside the city limits but inside Vadodara district. For a solar plant, the facts that count are your licensee office, your roof and how your machines draw power in daylight.
Wikipedia describes Waghodia, also spelt Vaghodiya, as one of the taluka headquarters of Vadodara district, with the 391 760 PIN code. It puts the town about 28 km from Vadodara railway station and roughly 23 km from Dabhoi. The GIDC estate takes its name from the town. Because it lies outside the city, your electricity comes from a rural MGVCL office rather than one of the urban city sub-divisions.
MGVCL's published contact directory places a Waghodia sub-division inside the Baroda (O&M) Division, part of the Baroda (O&M) Circle, alongside Savli, Desar, Chhani, Koyali, Manjusar Industrial and Nandesari. That is the desk that reads a rooftop application from this area, unless your bill names another office. Torrent Power holds no Vadodara licence, and we found no SEZ licensee covering the estate.
We could not confirm the estate's founding year, plot count or sector mix from a GIDC or MSME-DI source we could read, so this page states none of them. We also name no company as operating here. The load types below are the ones we size for on any Gujarat factory shed. At survey, we check which of them your unit actually runs.
Day-shift machining and fabrication
Lathes, CNC centres, welding sets and presses usually run from morning to evening and stop overnight. That pattern sits under the solar curve almost hour for hour. We log inrush current and power factor, because press and welding loads swing hard and inverter settings must cope with them.
Process lines running two or three shifts
Mixers, extruders, reactors and cooling towers that run through the night give the array a steady base load to feed by day. Nearly every unit generated is then used inside the fence. Any fume or dust source on site goes into our hardware choice and cleaning interval.
Compressors, chillers and air handling
Compressed air, process cooling and ventilation draw hardest in April and May, which is when a Gujarat roof produces most. These loads make a dependable daytime floor. We note their duty cycles at survey and size the plant so their demand absorbs midday output.
Warehousing and dispatch sheds
Stores with lighting, forklift charging and a small office carry little load but often have the widest roofs on the plot. A plant sized to the roof alone would export most of its output. We size to the connection's actual daytime use instead.
What a Waghodia plant gives you, counted in units
We work the case from the units your meter records between roughly nine and five. Your rupee benefit depends on your tariff category and demand charges, so we calculate it from your own bills at survey.
Start from yield, then compare it with your day load. An unshaded roof here produces 4 to 4.5 units per installed kW a day across the year. A 100 kW plant therefore makes about 1.46 to 1.64 lakh units annually, and a 200 kW plant about 2.92 to 3.29 lakh. Set that against the units your factory draws during working hours. When daytime use comfortably exceeds generation, almost nothing is exported, and every unit offsets a grid purchase.
The connection, not the roof, sets the ceiling. MGVCL checks a rooftop plant against the load sanctioned on your service. A wide warehouse roof cannot, on its own, justify a bigger plant. Solar also cuts units more reliably than it cuts recorded maximum demand, because a cloudy afternoon in July can still put every motor on the grid at once. We read twelve months of bills, demand column included, before naming a rating.
Tax is your incentive, since the subsidy is not. PM Surya Ghar pays households only. A company or firm can claim 40% accelerated depreciation on solar power generating systems under Appendix I of the Income Tax Rules. GST since 22 Sep 2025 is 5% on solar equipment and 18% on services; treat 30% of a supply-and-install contract as service and the blend is about 8.9%. As a reference point only, a 25 kW Gujarat installation falls in the indicative ₹10.75 lakh to ₹13.50 lakh band, about ₹43,000 to ₹54,000 per kW. Anything larger is priced after a load study, once roof repairs, cable runs and metering are known.
| Plant size | Units a year |
|---|---|
| 25 kW | 36,500 – 41,063 |
| 50 kW | 73,000 – 82,125 |
| 100 kW | 1,46,000 – 1,64,250 |
| 250 kW | 3,65,000 – 4,10,625 |
| 500 kW | 7,30,000 – 8,21,250 |
Indicative installed cost at 25 kW: ₹10.75–13.50 lakh (market range, not a quotation). Larger plants are priced after a load study of your bills and roof.

Engineering checks for a Waghodia factory roof
We answer three questions before we order a single module. Can the roof carry it, will it stay put and stay safe, and how does it join your panel and MGVCL's meter?
Roof sheet, purlins and load
We measure purlin depth, spacing and span, record the sheet profile and gauge, and look for rust at laps and fixings. From that we calculate the added dead load. If a bay needs strengthening or new sheeting first, the proposal says so in writing and prices that work on its own line.
Wind, water and access
Rails clamp to the sheet or bolt to purlins with sealed penetrations, so the roof stays watertight through the monsoon. We keep walkways for washing, leave skylights, turbo vents and fire routes clear, bond the structure to earth and plan lightning protection for the shed's real height and exposure.
Panel connection and MGVCL interface
Qbits inverters go close to the main LT panel to keep AC cable runs short. The design shows DC and AC isolation, surge protection, earth pits and the metering MGVCL asks for. On an HT service the plant connects on the LT side of your transformer, drawn clearly on the single-line diagram.
Approvals: who does what.
Your plant needs MGVCL approval before it connects. Files move quickest when they reach the right sub-division with drawings that match the installed plant exactly.
Records and design pack
We gather a year of bills and your sanctioned load, survey roof and panel room, and draw the layout and single-line diagram. We read the office name off your bill so the file goes to Waghodia or wherever it belongs.
UsRooftop application
We lodge the application with the sub-division that holds your connection. MGVCL checks the proposed rating against sanctioned load and feeder capacity, then approves it or returns it with queries, which we answer.
Us, then MGVCLInstallation and test records
We build to the approved drawings and record insulation tests, earth resistance and protection settings. If the plant rating calls for Electrical Inspectorate clearance, we prepare that file too and follow it to the certificate.
UsInspection, metering, energising
MGVCL's engineers inspect the plant, fit or certify the meters and allow it to run in parallel with the grid. Our engineer is on site that day, so questions are settled at the roof, not by letter.
MGVCLThree ways to fund the plant.
Pick the route that fits your tax position and balance sheet. All three are in use among Gujarat manufacturers, and each changes who owns the plant.
Pay from your own capital
The plant becomes your company's asset, and 40% accelerated depreciation applies from the year it is put to use. This suits a profitable unit with cash in hand. An annual maintenance contract with us covers washing, inspections, inverter checks and the generation reports your auditor will want.
Bank or NBFC loan
Lenders finance rooftop plants for MSMEs while ownership, and therefore depreciation, stays with you. We supply the quotation, bill of materials and month-by-month generation in units that credit teams ask for. Interest and tenure are the lender's call, so compare total repayment rather than the monthly instalment.
Developer-owned plant (RESCO)
A third party builds and owns the plant on your shed and bills you per unit supplied. You spend no capital and claim no depreciation. Read the tenure, buy-out terms and roof-access clauses closely, because the agreement ties up your roof for its full term.
How the project runs.
Five stages take a Waghodia unit from a first call to a connected plant. You approve each document before MGVCL sees it.
Where we work from
Heaven Green Energy has one office, at Mota Varachha in Surat, and none in Waghodia or Vadodara. We cover Waghodia GIDC and the rest of Central Gujarat through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They run the surveys, supervise installation and attend MGVCL inspections in person. You hear this before you sign, not after.
Bill and roof screening · Day 1
You share twelve months of bills and plot details. We check sanctioned load, connection type and day use, and tell you straight if the roof is not worth a visit.
Survey on site · Week 1
An engineer drives out from our field team, measures the roof and purlins, maps shade, walks the cable route and opens the main panel. Unclear loads get logged for several days.
Design and proposal · Week 2
You receive the layout, single-line diagram, a bill of materials naming makes and quantities, and monthly generation in units. The price comes from that design.
File and build · Weeks 3 to 8
We file with MGVCL, procure Adani modules and Qbits inverters and install in stages, so the shed stays sealed and your production schedule is not disturbed.
Connection and upkeep · After MGVCL approval
MGVCL inspects and connects the plant. We hand over test reports and warranties, start remote monitoring and begin the cleaning and inspection calendar agreed in the contract.

Commercial · Anand · 80 kW
Six things to check with any vendor.
- Waghodia GIDC factories are MGVCL consumers. The company's directory lists a Waghodia sub-division in its Baroda (O&M) Circle.
- Torrent Power has no Vadodara licence. Check your bill for the exact office before anyone files on your behalf.
- Each kW on an unshaded shed makes 4 to 4.5 units a day, so 200 kW yields about 2.92 to 3.29 lakh units a year.
- Factories cannot claim PM Surya Ghar. The company claims 40% accelerated depreciation on the plant instead.
- GST on a supply-and-install job blends to about 8.9%, from 5% on equipment and 18% on the 30% service share.
- Sanctioned load and daytime use fix the plant size. Above 25 kW, the price follows a load study and purlin check.
