Industrial rooftop solar across Vadodara's estates.
A factory around Vadodara buys most of its power while the sun is up, so a plant on your own shed cuts grid units the hour they are made. We design, file with MGVCL and maintain plants for units in Makarpura, Savli, Manjusar, Nandesari, Waghodia and Halol. We use Adani modules through our authorised channel partnership, with Qbits inverters.

The short answer
Factories across Vadodara's industrial estates are supplied by Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL), not Torrent Power. A rooftop plant here yields 4 to 4.5 units per kW each day, so 250 kW gives roughly 3.65 to 4.1 lakh units a year. Businesses cannot claim PM Surya Ghar; they claim 40% accelerated depreciation. Anything above 25 kW is priced only once we have studied your load.

Four estate clusters, one licensee, different roofs
Vadodara's factories are spread across several GIDC estates rather than packed into one. The estate you sit in decides which MGVCL office reads your file, and often what kind of shed you are asking us to load.
Start with the map. Makarpura GIDC lies inside the city on its southern edge, beside Tarsali and Manjalpur. Wikipedia describes it as one of Vadodara's main industrial areas and notes that the Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industry sits there. North of the city, the Savli GIDC estate and the Manjusar units lie on the Savli to Halol stretch that Wikipedia places on the Delhi to Mumbai Industrial Corridor route. Waghodia GIDC lies east of the city, and Nandesari and Por complete the chemical and engineering belt on the highway.
Halol GIDC belongs on this list for practical reasons, though it falls in Panchmahal district rather than Vadodara. MGVCL runs it from its Godhra O&M Circle through a dedicated Halol GIDC sub-division.
MGVCL's directory shows how the company has organised itself around this industry. The Baroda O&M Circle carries a Manjusar Industrial sub-division and a Nandesari sub-division beside Savli and Waghodia, and the Baroda City Circle lists a sub-division named simply GIDC. We do not name the firms inside any estate. Your own bill, roof and load are what we size against.
Fabrication, machining and switchgear shops
Welding sets, CNC machines, press lines and test benches run through the day shift and stop at night. That load sits neatly under the solar curve. We log starting surges and power factor at survey, because welding and press loads swing hard and the inverter setting has to suit them.
Chemical and process plants
Reactors, agitators, pumps and cooling towers at Nandesari or Por often run around the clock. Solar then covers part of a flat base load and nearly every unit is used on site. Corrosive air at these plants means coated fasteners and closer inspection intervals, which we write into the maintenance plan.
Pharma, packaging and clean rooms
Air handling, chillers and controlled storage carry steady daytime demand and peak in the hot months, when the array produces most. Pharma roofs often hold HVAC units and exhaust stacks, so we map the shadow they cast before fixing a layout, rather than drawing panels across the whole roof.
Large plants feeding smaller suppliers
Automotive and engineering anchors in Savli, Manjusar and Halol draw a ring of supplier workshops on one or two shifts. These units often close on a weekly holiday and export on that day. We size against weekday daytime use so the plant is not built for units you cannot use.
Factory economics in units, not promises
We size a Vadodara factory plant from what your meter records in daylight hours. A rupee saving depends on your tariff category and demand pattern, so we calculate it from your own bills at survey, never from a web page.
Daylight units decide the size. Every kilowatt on a clear, shadow-free roof here makes 4 to 4.5 units a day over the year. A 100 kW plant therefore gives about 1.46 to 1.64 lakh units annually, and 250 kW about 3.65 to 4.1 lakh. Compare that with what your unit uses between morning and late afternoon. If daytime use is well above the plant's output, almost all of it is consumed on site, which is the strongest position to be in.
Sanctioned load caps the plant, and demand behaves differently from units. MGVCL approves a rooftop plant against the load sanctioned on your connection, so a large roof does not mean a large plant. Solar reduces the units you buy. It does not promise a lower recorded maximum demand, because a monsoon afternoon can still see every machine pull from the grid. We read a full year of bills, including the demand column, before we propose a rating.
Tax replaces the subsidy. PM Surya Ghar covers homes only. Your firm can instead claim 40% accelerated depreciation on solar power generating systems under Appendix I of the Income Tax Rules. From 22 Sep 2025 GST runs at 5% on solar equipment and 18% on services. With the service share of a turnkey contract taken as 30%, the blend comes to about 8.9%. For reference, the indicative installed band at 25 kW in Gujarat is ₹10.75 lakh to ₹13.50 lakh, roughly ₹43,000 to ₹54,000 per kW. Larger plants are priced after a load study, since roof work, cable length and metering move the figure.
| Plant size | Units a year |
|---|---|
| 25 kW | 36,500 – 41,063 |
| 50 kW | 73,000 – 82,125 |
| 100 kW | 1,46,000 – 1,64,250 |
| 250 kW | 3,65,000 – 4,10,625 |
| 500 kW | 7,30,000 – 8,21,250 |
Indicative installed cost at 25 kW: ₹10.75–13.50 lakh (market range, not a quotation). Larger plants are priced after a load study of your bills and roof.

Engineering for Vadodara sheds and process plants
We settle three things before ordering panels. Can the roof take the weight? How will the array survive wind and allow safe access? Where does it join your electrical system?
Roof capacity and condition
Older Makarpura sheds and newer Savli or Waghodia buildings differ in purlin size, spacing and sheet gauge. We measure them, calculate the added dead load and check the sheet for rust and thinning. If the roof will not carry the array, you hear it in writing with the remedy, before any order is placed.
Wind, corrosion and safe access
Rails are bolted into purlins with sealed penetrations so the roof stays dry through the monsoon. Near chemical plants we specify coated hardware. We leave walkways for cleaning, keep vents, skylights and fire routes clear, earth the structure and design lightning protection for the actual roof height.
Switchgear, protection and MGVCL interface
Qbits inverters sit near the main LT panel to keep AC runs short. The design carries DC and AC isolators, surge protection, earthing pits and the metering MGVCL requires. On an HT connection the plant ties in on the LT side behind your transformer, and the single-line diagram records exactly how.
Approvals: who does what.
MGVCL must approve the plant before it is connected. The file moves faster when it goes to the correct sub-division and the drawings match what is built on the roof.
Bills, load data and drawings
We collect a year of bills and your sanctioned load, survey the roof and panel room, then prepare the layout, single-line diagram and equipment datasheets. We also confirm from your bill which MGVCL sub-division holds the connection.
UsApplication to the sub-division
We lodge the rooftop application with the office named on your bill, whether GIDC, Manjusar, Nandesari, Savli, Waghodia or Halol GIDC. MGVCL checks the rating against your sanctioned load and the feeder, then approves or asks for revisions.
Us, then MGVCLBuild and safety clearance
We install to the approved drawings and compile test results, earthing values and protection settings. Where the plant size triggers an Electrical Inspectorate clearance, we prepare that file and follow it through to the certificate.
UsInspection and connection
MGVCL inspects the plant, then fits or certifies the meters and energises the connection. Generation begins to show on your bill from that cycle. Our engineer attends the inspection, so any query is answered on the roof.
MGVCLThree ways to fund the plant.
How you pay depends on your tax position and on whether you want the plant on your own balance sheet. Each route below is common among Vadodara manufacturers.
Buy the plant outright
Your company owns the asset and claims 40% accelerated depreciation in the year it is put to use. This suits a profitable unit with spare capital. You keep every unit generated, and an AMC with us covers cleaning, inspections, inverter checks and the reports your auditor asks for.
Term loan or equipment finance
Banks and NBFCs fund rooftop plants for MSMEs, and you still own the asset for depreciation purposes. We provide the quotation, bill of materials and generation estimate in units that a lender wants. The lender sets rate and tenure, so compare total cost, not the instalment alone.
Third-party ownership (RESCO)
A developer owns the plant on your roof and bills you for the units it supplies. There is no capital outlay and no depreciation claim. Check contract tenure, the buy-out schedule and roof access rights carefully, because they bind your premises for as long as the agreement runs.
How the project runs.
Five stages take a Vadodara factory from first call to a running plant. You see each document before it reaches MGVCL.
Where we work from
Heaven Green Energy has a single office, at Mota Varachha in Surat. We serve Vadodara's estates and the wider Central Gujarat region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They carry out surveys, supervise the build and attend MGVCL inspections on site. There is no Heaven Green branch in Vadodara, and we tell you that before you sign.
First call and bill review · Day 1
You send twelve months of bills and the plot details. We check sanctioned load, connection type and daytime use, and say frankly if your roof is not worth a site visit.
Site and load survey · Week 1
An engineer measures the roof, purlins and shading, walks the cable route and opens the main panel. Where the load pattern is unclear we log it for several days.
Design and written proposal · Week 2
You get the layout, single-line diagram, a bill of materials naming makes and quantities, and monthly generation in units. The price follows from that design, not a rate card.
Approval and build · Weeks 3 to 8
We file with MGVCL, procure Adani modules and Qbits inverters and install around your production plan. Roof work is staged so the shed stays sealed and lines keep running.
Commissioning and upkeep · After MGVCL approval
MGVCL inspects and connects the plant. We hand over test reports and warranties, switch on monitoring, then start the cleaning and inspection schedule written into the contract.

Six things to check with any vendor.
- Vadodara's industrial estates are supplied by MGVCL. Torrent Power holds no licence in Vadodara, so ignore any advice that points you there.
- MGVCL runs estate-specific offices, including GIDC, Manjusar Industrial, Nandesari, Savli, Waghodia and Halol GIDC sub-divisions. Your bill names yours.
- A kilowatt of roof solar makes 4 to 4.5 units a day here, so a 250 kW plant gives about 3.65 to 4.1 lakh units a year.
- Factories get no PM Surya Ghar subsidy. The firm claims 40% accelerated depreciation on the plant.
- Turnkey GST blends to about 8.9%: 5% on equipment and 18% on the 30% service share.
- Sanctioned load and daytime use set the plant size. Any plant above 25 kW is priced after a load study and a purlin check.
