Price, size and savings

Find your bill. Read across.

Find your monthly bill in the table below, then read across the row. The size column tells you what that bill supports, and the price column is the installed market range before subsidy. The units column is what the roof should return each month in Mehsana light, and the payback column assumes you consume most of what you generate.

These are indicative market ranges for Mehsana in 2026, not a Heaven Green Energy quotation. Your price moves with roof type, structure height, cable run, module and inverter choice, and how much civil work the terrace needs. Subsidy amounts are the central PM Surya Ghar slabs published at pmsuryaghar.gov.in and apply to residential consumers only.

The subsidy stops climbing after 3 kW. You get ₹30,000 per kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, which caps at ₹78,000. A fourth kilowatt adds nothing to your claim, so the jump from 3 kW to 5 kW is paid entirely out of pocket. That is fine if your bill genuinely needs 5 kW. It is waste if a vendor upsized you to pad the invoice.

A quote well under the band is cutting something you cannot see from the ground. Usually it is the mounting structure: thinner galvanising, fewer legs, lower clearance. Mehsana terraces take dust, a hot March to May, and short violent pre-monsoon squalls. A weak structure survives the first year and fails in the fourth.

One local warning. Mehsana has a busy trade in second-hand and grey-market modules moving along the Ahmedabad–Palanpur corridor. Ask for module serial numbers on the invoice and check them against the manufacturer's warranty registration before you release the final payment.

Why there is no rupee saving in that table

We do not print a rupee saving figure on this page. Your saving depends on your UGVCL tariff category, your sanctioned load and your fixed charges. It also depends on how much of your generation you consume during the day rather than export to the grid. Guessing it would be dishonest, and a vendor who quotes a precise annual saving before seeing your bill is selling you arithmetic they invented. Bring your last two bills to the site survey and we will work the number from your own consumption pattern. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

₹78,000

Maximum central subsidy for a residential rooftop system.

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
  • Nothing paid above 3 kW
  • Credited directly to your bank account
  • We file the entire claim for you
How the subsidy works

Five steps, and we run four of them.

PM Surya Ghar pays up to ₹78,000 to residential consumers who install rooftop solar through a vendor registered on the national portal and commission it under a net-metering connection. The money lands in your bank account after commissioning, not as a discount on the invoice.

1

Register on the national portal

Create your consumer account at pmsuryaghar.gov.in using your UGVCL consumer number from your bill. The portal matches your name and address against the discom record, so enter them exactly as printed.

2

Apply for feasibility

Submit the rooftop application with your proposed capacity. UGVCL checks that the size fits your sanctioned load and that the distribution transformer on your feeder has headroom. Approval usually returns within a fortnight.

3

Install with a registered vendor

Only work by a vendor listed on the portal qualifies. We upload the installation details, module and inverter models, and the commissioning photographs against your application reference so the file moves without you chasing it.

4

Net meter and inspection

UGVCL installs the bidirectional meter and the electrical inspector clears the installation. The commissioning certificate is generated on the portal once both are done. Nothing pays out before this certificate exists.

5

Bank details and credit

Enter your account number and a cancelled cheque on the portal. The subsidy is transferred directly by the ministry. Most Gujarat claims settle within 30 to 45 days of the commissioning certificate.

If you are a business, this section does not apply

Businesses, dairies, cooperatives and industrial units do not get PM Surya Ghar. Commercial consumers claim accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, which for many Mehsana firms returns more than the residential subsidy would have. Your chartered accountant should run both against your tax position before you commit.

UGVCL (Uttar Gujarat Vij)

Net metering: who you actually file with.

Net metering is what turns daytime generation into a lower bill. Without it your surplus flows to the grid and you are paid nothing for it.

Your licensee in Mehsana is Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited, UGVCL, and this city is where it is actually run from. Its registered and corporate office stands on Visnagar Road, Mehsana 384001. UGVCL is one of four distribution companies under GUVNL created when the old Gujarat Electricity Board was unbundled in 2003. It covers the northern districts: Mehsana, Patan, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Gandhinagar district and parts of Ahmedabad's rural fringe.

Vendors get this wrong constantly. DGVCL is Surat and south Gujarat, MGVCL is Vadodara and central Gujarat, and PGVCL is Rajkot and Saurashtra. Torrent Power holds separate distribution licences in Ahmedabad, Surat city and Gandhinagar city. A quotation for a Mehsana rooftop that names any of those has been copied from another town, and the application will be filed into the wrong office.

The framework itself is set by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission. Sanctioned capacity is capped at your connected load, and every consumer category may apply, including residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural. Exported units are credited against imported units in the billing cycle. Settlement of the leftover credit follows the GERC order in force when your system is commissioned.

1

Application and feasibility

We submit the online application with your consumer number, connected load details and proposed capacity. We then track the feasibility approval through the UGVCL sub-division that actually holds your connection, rather than a generic head-office address.

Filed by us
2

Installation and test report

We install, then lodge the test report with module and inverter serial numbers, earthing details and the single-line diagram. Clean paperwork here is what keeps the meter date close.

Filed by us
3

Meter fitting and inspection

UGVCL fits and seals the bidirectional meter, and the electrical inspector clears the installation separately. We attend both visits, so nothing stalls for a week over one unanswered question about earthing or protection on site.

4

Agreement and first credited bill

We complete the net-metering agreement. Your next UGVCL bill shows import, export and net units separately. Check that first bill line by line, and call us if it does not.

Not a home?

Solar for Mehsana's businesses.

Not a home? Mehsana's dairy, oil-services, ceramics and engineering load profiles suit rooftop solar better than most, because almost all of the demand sits inside daylight hours.

Mehsana runs on daytime power. The Dudhsagar Dairy chilling and cattle-feed operation and the ONGC Mehsana asset's onshore field services pull hardest between nine and five. So do the engineering and road-equipment units in Dediyasan GIDC, the ceramics and sanitaryware works fed by North Gujarat china clay, and food-processing plants on the Ahmedabad–Palanpur highway. That is the exact window a rooftop array fills, so a high share of your generation is self-consumed rather than exported.

Commercial and industrial consumers are outside PM Surya Ghar. The tax route is usually better anyway. See accelerated depreciation on solar for how the write-off works, and zero down payment solar if you would rather not tie up working capital.

  • Dediyasan GIDC Phase 1 and Phase 2: engineering, fabrication, plastics
  • Mehsana industrial estate along Radhanpur Road and Mal Godown Road
  • Cold chain and agro-processing on the Palanpur highway
  • Farm and borewell pumping loads across Mehsana, Kadi, Jotana and Vijapur talukas
  • Ceramics, sanitaryware and stone-crushing units working North Gujarat china clay
Why us

Why Mehsana customers choose Heaven Green Energy

We have been installing since 2017 and have crossed 10,000 installations across Gujarat. That volume is the reason our paperwork moves through the discom, our supply prices hold and our warranty claims come back to a company that still exists.

We know which discom you are onUGVCL, and we file into the sub-division that holds your connection. Half the delay on a Gujarat solar file comes from an application lodged with the wrong licensee, or the right one at the wrong office.
Adani modules, Qbits invertersWe are an authorised channel partner of Adani and we manufacture the Qbits inverter range in-house. Warranty claims come back to us rather than into a supply chain that has moved on.
Subsidy handled end to endPortal registration, feasibility, commissioning upload, bank details. You do not chase a claim you did not file. Most Gujarat claims we file settle within 30 to 45 days of commissioning.
One quote, no revision after signatureThe survey establishes shadow, roof condition and cable route before we price. A number that rises after you sign means the survey was skipped, and we do not work that way.

Where we are based

Heaven Green Energy is headquartered at Mota Varachha, Surat. We do not run a Mehsana branch or a local phone number, and we would rather tell you that before you sign than after. We serve Mehsana and the wider North Gujarat region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They run the surveys, supervise the installation and handle UGVCL coordination on the ground.

How we work

From first call to a spinning net meter.

Four stages from your first call to the first UGVCL bill that shows a net figure instead of a full one.

01

Bill review and phone sizing

Send your last two UGVCL bills. We read units consumed rather than rupees paid and come back with an indicative size and price band before anyone visits.

Same day
02

Site survey and proposal

An engineer measures shadow-free area, checks slab condition and plans the cable route. You get a written proposal with generation estimate, structure specification and the subsidy working.

2–4 days
03

Installation and commissioning

Structure, modules, inverter, earthing, protection and monitoring. We photograph every stage because the portal and the inspector both want evidence, not assurances.

2–4 days on site
04

Net meter and subsidy

UGVCL fits the bidirectional meter, the inspector clears the installation, the commissioning certificate is generated and the subsidy transfer follows to your bank account.

3–7 weeks

What Mehsana weather does to a solar system

Mehsana sits on the arid edge of North Gujarat, where summer average maxima run near 41.5°C, winter mornings drop to around 12°C and annual rainfall is low by Gujarat standards. That combination is good for generation and hard on hardware. Three effects matter when you specify a system here.

Heat derating from March to June

Panels lose output as they get hotter, and a 41°C air temperature puts module surfaces far above that. This is why we insist on clearance under the array rather than flush mounting: airflow beneath the modules pulls heat away. It is also why inverter placement matters. An inverter bolted to a west-facing wall in Mehsana summer will throttle itself by afternoon, exactly when the array is producing most.

Dust, and the field dust nobody budgets for

Low rainfall means dust settles and stays. Mehsana adds two local sources: the agricultural dust lifted off dry North Gujarat fields between harvests, and the cement and stone-crushing traffic on the district roads. A film you cannot see can cost real output. Plan a wash every three to four weeks through the dry months, more if you are near a GIDC estate or a crushing unit.

Short monsoon, violent pre-monsoon wind

The southwest monsoon reaches Mehsana around mid-June and is thinner and shorter than in south Gujarat. Annual generation loss to cloud is therefore smaller here than in Surat or the Konkan. The real structural test is the pre-monsoon squall in late May and early June. Wind-load design and proper anchoring into the slab, not ballast alone, is what keeps the array on the roof.

Questions

Solar in Mehsana: every question answered.

17 questions Mehsana buyers actually search for, including the ones competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.

Cost & subsidy

What is the solar panel price in Mehsana in 2026?
Indicative installed market ranges before subsidy are ₹1,25,000 to ₹1,55,000 for 2 kW and ₹1,80,000 to ₹2,25,000 for 3 kW. For 5 kW the range is ₹2,85,000 to ₹3,45,000, and for 10 kW it is ₹5,20,000 to ₹6,30,000. Your final price moves with roof type, structure height and cable run.
How much subsidy do I get in Mehsana under PM Surya Ghar?
Up to ₹78,000. The scheme pays ₹30,000 per kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, then stops. It is a central scheme, so the amount is identical in Mehsana, Surat and everywhere else in India.
Is the subsidy deducted from my invoice?
No. You pay the full installed price, then the ministry transfers the subsidy directly to your bank account after the commissioning certificate is generated on the portal. Most Gujarat claims we file settle within 30 to 45 days of commissioning. Any vendor promising an upfront discount instead is describing their own financing, not the scheme.
Can my shop or dairy unit claim PM Surya Ghar?
No. PM Surya Ghar is residential only, so shops, dairies, cooperative societies and industrial units are outside it. Commercial consumers claim accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, which for many Mehsana businesses returns more value than the ₹78,000 residential cap would have. Ask your chartered accountant to compare both.

Net metering & DISCOM

Which discom supplies electricity in Mehsana?
Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited, UGVCL. Its registered and corporate office is on Visnagar Road in Mehsana itself, so this is the licensee's home city. UGVCL is one of four GUVNL distribution companies and covers Mehsana, Patan, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli and Gandhinagar district.
Is Mehsana under UGVCL or Torrent Power?
UGVCL. Torrent Power holds separate distribution licences in Ahmedabad, Surat city and Gandhinagar city, not in Mehsana. If a quotation names Torrent, DGVCL, MGVCL or PGVCL, it has been copied from another town and the net-metering application will be filed into the wrong office.
How large a system will UGVCL sanction for my house?
Capacity is capped at your sanctioned load under the GERC framework, and the feasibility check also confirms your distribution transformer has headroom. If you want a system above your current load, apply for a load enhancement first.
How long does UGVCL net metering take in Mehsana?
Budget three to seven weeks from installation to the bidirectional meter being sealed. That covers feasibility approval, the test report with serial numbers and single-line diagram, the meter fitting visit and the electrical inspector's clearance. Clean paperwork filed into the correct sub-division is the biggest factor in staying at the short end.

Sizing & performance

How much electricity will a 5 kW system generate in Mehsana?
Around 600 to 675 units a month. Mehsana gets about 5.5 peak sun hours, so systems return 4 to 4.5 units per kW per day as an annual mean. March to May run above that figure, December and January below it, and a dusty array below both.
What size do I need for a ₹4,000 monthly bill?
A ₹3,500 to ₹6,000 monthly bill usually points to 5 kW, which needs roughly 500 sq ft of shadow-free roof. Size against units consumed rather than rupees paid, because tariff slabs and fixed charges distort the rupee figure and two homes on the same bill can need different systems.
How much roof area does a 3 kW system need?
About 300 sq ft of shadow-free area. Water tanks, staircase cabins and parapet walls on Mehsana terraces cast much longer shadows in December than in April, so the usable area in winter is what decides your capacity. Our survey measures shadow through the day, not once.
Does Mehsana heat reduce solar output?
Yes. Modules derate as temperature rises and summer maxima here average near 41.5°C. Mounting with clearance underneath for airflow and keeping the inverter out of direct west sun recovers most of that loss. The high sun resource still leaves North Gujarat ahead of most of India.

Installation & service

How often should panels be cleaned in Mehsana?
Every three to four weeks through the dry months. Low rainfall plus agricultural dust off North Gujarat fields and cement and stone-crushing traffic on district roads means soiling builds faster here than in coastal Gujarat. Rooftops near a GIDC estate need more.
How long does installation take?
Two to four days on site for a typical residential system, covering structure, modules, inverter, earthing, surge and isolation protection, and the monitoring link. The longer wait comes afterwards, for the UGVCL meter fitting visit and the electrical inspector's clearance, which together run three to seven weeks.
Do you provide maintenance after installation?
Yes. Systems are monitored remotely and we run scheduled service visits, which matters in Mehsana because dust builds faster than in coastal Gujarat. We are the authorised Adani Solar distributor and we build the Qbits inverters ourselves, so a warranty claim comes back to us rather than into someone else's supply chain.

About Heaven Green

Does Heaven Green Energy have an office in Mehsana?
No. We have one office, at Mota Varachha in Surat. Mehsana is served through our channel partner network and field engineering team, who run the surveys, supervise installation and handle UGVCL coordination. We say so upfront rather than after you sign.
How experienced is Heaven Green Energy?
We have installed since 2017 and crossed 10,000 installations across Gujarat, covering residential rooftops, commercial buildings, industrial sheds and agricultural connections. That volume is why our paperwork moves through the discom without you chasing it, and why our supply prices hold rather than drifting up after signature.
