Price, size and savings Find your bill. Read across.
Most Gandhinagar solar pages quote a per-kW number with no system attached to it, which tells you nothing. This table does the job properly. Find your monthly bill in the left column, then read across for the size that matches, what it generates here, the roof it needs and the cost after subsidy.
These are indicative Gandhinagar market ranges for 2026, covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, a galvanised structure, protection gear and installation. They are not a Heaven Green Energy quotation and no price is confirmed until a survey is done. Subsidy amounts are the central PM Surya Ghar figures published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shadow-free, roughly south-facing roof.
Size against units, not rupees. Your bill prints both, and only the units figure is stable. Take twelve months of readings, work out the monthly average, then pick the system that covers it. Rupee totals move with slab rates and fuel charges, so a system sized off the amount is a system sized off a moving target. The roof column says shadow-free for a reason. A water tank, a lift room or a neighbour's parapet stealing two hours of morning sun costs more output than any brochure admits.
The 3 kW cliff decides most Gandhinagar orders. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 for each of the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third. Above that it pays nothing. So the subsidy covers 35 to 43% of a 3 kW system and only 12 to 15% of a 10 kW one. If your average sits between 350 and 450 units, 3 kW returns more rupees per rupee spent than anything larger.
A cheap Gandhinagar quote is cheap in the steel, not the glass. The sector-grid bungalows and the row houses in Kudasan and Randesan all take the same open, unsheltered wind exposure. The first thing a bottom-of-market quote thins is galvanising thickness and fastener grade. Cable gauge, earthing and surge protection go next. Ask for a written Bill of Materials listing make, model and quantity against every line. Without one you are comparing two numbers, not two systems.
Why there is no rupee saving in that table
You will notice the table carries no rupee saving. That is deliberate. Your saving depends on the slab rate you personally pay and on whether you are billed by Torrent Power or UGVCL, whose tariff schedules are not identical. Guessing it here would be dishonest. Bring your last bill to the free survey and we will work the exact figure out with you, in front of you, on your own numbers. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our
