Heaven Green Energy plans and installs rooftop solar for homes, shops, clinics and farmhouses in Tharad, the headquarters town of the new Vav-Tharad district. We work from your UGVCL bill and build the array for desert-edge heat and dust. Then we lodge your PM Surya Ghar claim and carry the net-metering file through UGVCL until the bidirectional meter is sealed.

Share a recent UGVCL bill and tell us what sits on your terrace. We reply with a system size, a generation estimate for Tharad, the subsidy arithmetic and the documents UGVCL will ask for. It costs nothing.
Tharad sits in UGVCL's Palanpur Circle. No Torrent Power or SEZ licence reaches the Vav-Tharad district.
Regulator
Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC)
Every Gujarat licensee applies the same GERC net-metering rules.
Solar resource
About 5.5 peak sun hours
Long dry season and clear skies from October to June on the Rann's eastern edge.
Generation
4 to 4.5 units per kW daily
Yearly mean. The July and August monsoon months pull it down; spring pushes it up.
Central subsidy
Up to ₹78,000
PM Surya Ghar, for residential connections only. The same amount in every Indian town.
Typical payback
4–5 years on a 5 kW home system
3.5–4.5 years on 2 kW and 3 kW systems.
The short answer
A 3 kW rooftop system in Tharad costs roughly ₹1,80,000 to ₹2,25,000 installed, and 5 kW roughly ₹2,85,000 to ₹3,45,000, before the PM Surya Ghar subsidy of up to ₹78,000. Each kilowatt yields 4 to 4.5 units a day across the year. UGVCL handles net metering for the town. A 5 kW home system pays back in 4–5 years.

These figures are indicative market ranges for Tharad in 2026. They are not a Heaven Green Energy quotation. Your surveyed price depends on whether the roof is an RCC slab, a metal shed or a village house terrace. It also depends on how tall the structure must stand, the cable run to the meter and any slab repair. Subsidy figures follow the PM Surya Ghar slabs on pmsuryaghar.gov.in and apply only to residential connections. Rooftop solar systems attract 5% GST on the equipment since 22 Sep 2025. A supply-and-install contract taxes 30% of the value as installation service at 18%, so the blended rate on a typical quote is about 8.9%.
Your subsidy is fixed once you pass 3 kW. The scheme pays ₹30,000 a kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, so ₹78,000 is the ceiling. Kilowatts four and five are your money alone. Buy them if your units justify them, not because a salesman said bigger is better.
Tharad roofs need a taller, heavier frame than the cheapest quotes allow for. Hot dry winds come off the desert in April and May, and the pre-monsoon storms in June arrive with dust. A frame built from thin, poorly galvanised sections looks identical on day one and starts rusting at the joints within a few seasons. Ask for the section size and galvanising thickness in writing.
Check the paperwork as closely as the hardware. Tharad sits a long way from Gujarat's big installer hubs, and out-of-town crews sometimes vanish after commissioning. The invoice should list every module and inverter serial number, and the warranty should be registered in your name before the last instalment leaves your account.
Why there is no rupee saving in that table
This page carries no promised rupee saving, on purpose. Your saving turns on your UGVCL tariff category, fixed charges, sanctioned load and how much power you use while the sun is up. A Tharad household that runs coolers at noon saves differently from one that is out at the fields all day and exports most of its output. Show us twelve months of bills and we will work out the saving from your own units, not from a brochure. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our
solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

How the subsidy works
Five steps, and we run four of them.
PM Surya Ghar refunds up to ₹78,000 to a household that installs rooftop solar through a portal-registered vendor and gets a net-metered connection commissioned. The refund reaches your bank account after commissioning. It never appears as a discount on the invoice.
1
Create your portal account
Sign up at pmsuryaghar.gov.in with the UGVCL consumer number printed on your bill. Your name and address must match the UGVCL record, so copy them from the bill rather than from your Aadhaar card.
2
File the rooftop application
Enter the capacity you want. UGVCL checks it against your sanctioned load and the spare capacity on the local transformer. In village pockets on long rural lines this check matters more, so we size before we file.
3
Get it installed by a listed vendor
The subsidy only follows work by a vendor registered on the portal. We upload the module and inverter details and the installation photographs against your application so the file keeps moving.
4
Meter, inspection, certificate
UGVCL fits the bidirectional meter and the electrical inspector clears the installation. Only then does the portal issue the commissioning certificate, and nothing is paid before that certificate exists.
5
Bank details and transfer
Add your bank account and a cancelled cheque on the portal. The ministry transfers the money directly. Most Gujarat claims settle within 30 to 45 days of the commissioning certificate.
If you are a business, this section does not apply
Shops, clinics, cold stores, cotton and grain traders and milk cooperatives in Tharad are not eligible for PM Surya Ghar. A business claims accelerated depreciation instead, and for a profitable firm that can be worth more than the residential cap. Farm pumps sit under a different scheme again: see the PM-KUSUM route below and ask your accountant to compare.
UGVCL (Uttar Gujarat Vij)
Net metering: who you actually file with.
Net metering lets the units you export at noon cancel units you import at night. Without it, surplus generation leaves your roof for nothing.
Tharad is supplied by Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited, UGVCL, the GUVNL company for north Gujarat. Becoming the headquarters of Vav-Tharad district in 2025 did not change the licensee; the town stayed inside UGVCL's Palanpur Circle. UGVCL's own Palanpur Circle tender page has listed a Tharad-2 sub-division working under Deesa Division 2. UGVCL tenders issued in 2025 and 2026 also refer to a Tharad Division Office under the same circle. Offices are being reorganised around the new district, so trust the sub-division printed on your current bill over any old list.
No private licensee works here. Torrent Power distributes in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat city and Dahej, not in this corner of the state. DGVCL covers south Gujarat, MGVCL central Gujarat and PGVCL Saurashtra and Kutch, even though Kutch district begins just across the Rann west of Vav. A Tharad quote that names PGVCL because the town looks close to Kutch on a map was written by someone who did not check.
GERC writes the rules. Your rooftop capacity is capped at your sanctioned load. Residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural consumers may all apply. Exported units are set against imported units in each billing cycle, and any surplus is settled under the GERC order in force on the day your system is commissioned.
1
Online application
We lodge the application with your consumer number, sanctioned load and proposed capacity. Then we follow the feasibility approval at the sub-division named on your bill, whether that is a town office or a rural one.

2
Work completion and test report
After installation we submit the test report with module and inverter serials, the earthing layout and a single-line diagram. Incomplete reports are the usual reason a meter date slips.

3
Meter fitting and inspection
UGVCL staff fit and seal the bidirectional meter and the electrical inspector visits separately. We are on site for both, so a query about protection or earthing is answered the same day.

Solar for Tharad's businesses.
Tharad's trade happens in daylight. The market yard, the hospitals along Deesa Highway Road, the jewellery shops and the cold stores all draw most of their power while the panels are producing.
Most money in Tharad comes off the land. The APMC market yard is where farmers from Tharad, Vav and Suigam talukas auction castor, mustard and cumin. The traders around it run godowns, cleaning machines and offices through the working day. Village milk cooperatives chill milk morning and evening, and cold storage near the town holds produce through the heat. The town also supports a jewellery bazaar and small diamond-polishing workshops, an echo of Surat's trade, plus a cluster of private hospitals on Deesa Highway Road around Ambika Nagar Society. Each of these loads peaks between ten and five, which is exactly when a rooftop array delivers.
Why Tharad homes and businesses pick Heaven Green Energy
We have installed since 2017 and passed 10,000 installations in Gujarat. At that volume we know how UGVCL files move, our hardware supply is steady and the company that signs your warranty will still be answering calls years from now.
✓
Correct licensee, correct officeYour file goes to UGVCL at the sub-division on your bill. While offices reorganise around the new district, we confirm the office before filing rather than after a rejection.
✓
Adani modules and Qbits invertersWe are an authorised channel partner of Adani and fit only Adani modules. The inverters are Qbits, our group's own brand, so warranty claims stay with one accountable company.
✓
The subsidy is our jobPortal account, feasibility, commissioning upload, bank details: we handle each step. Most Gujarat claims we file settle within 30 to 45 days of commissioning.
✓
Price fixed after surveyWe survey shadow, slab strength and cable route before we price. The figure you sign is the figure you pay, with no extra line for a taller frame discovered later.
Where we are based
Heaven Green Energy has a single office, at Mota Varachha in Surat. There is no Tharad branch, no showroom in the district and no local phone line, and we would sooner say that now than after you sign. We serve Tharad and the wider North Gujarat region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They carry out the roof survey, supervise installation and deal with UGVCL on the ground.
How we work
From first call to a spinning net meter.
Four stages take you from a phone call to a UGVCL bill that charges you only for net units.
01
Bill check by phone
Send photos of your last two UGVCL bills. We read your units, not just the amount, and give an indicative size and price band before any visit.
Same day
02
Roof survey and written proposal
An engineer measures the shade-free area, checks the slab and plans the cable route to the meter. You receive the generation estimate, frame specification and subsidy working in writing.
3–5 days
03
Installation and commissioning
Frame, modules, inverter, earthing, surge protection and monitoring go in. Each stage is photographed because both the portal and the inspector ask for proof.
2–4 days on site
04
Net meter and subsidy credit
UGVCL fits the bidirectional meter, the inspector signs off, the portal issues the commissioning certificate and the subsidy reaches your bank.
3–7 weeks
How Tharad weather treats a solar system
Tharad has a hot semi-arid climate. Long-run averages put May afternoons around 41°C, January nights around 12°C and annual rainfall at roughly 450 mm, most of it in July and August. Heatwave days go higher, and the Gujarati Wikipedia entry for the taluka records summers above 46°C. Plenty of sun, then, but hard on hardware in three ways.
Heat and the afternoon loo
Module output falls as cell temperature climbs, and a Tharad terrace in May runs far hotter than the air above it. We raise the array off the slab so the hot loo wind can at least carry heat away from the back sheet. The inverter goes on a shaded north or east wall, never a sun-baked west one, so it does not throttle itself at three in the afternoon.
Fine dust, and saline water for washing
With the Rann to the west and dry fields all round, fine dust settles on glass within days in the dry months. Wash every two to three weeks from March to June. Use soft tap water or stored rainwater, not raw borewell water. Groundwater around Tharad is often brackish, and the salt dries into a white film that blocks light and etches the glass coating.
Short monsoon, sudden storms
The monsoon is brief here, so cloud costs less annual output than it does in south Gujarat. The danger is wind. Dust storms and pre-monsoon squalls in June hit an exposed terrace from any side. The frame must be anchored into the slab with chemical fasteners, not just weighted down with concrete blocks.

Before you sign
Six things to check on any Tharad quote.
Including ours. Take this list to every vendor you speak to.
Make sure the quotation names UGVCL, Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited. Tharad's closeness to Kutch does not put it under PGVCL, and a wrongly addressed file loses weeks.
Ask whether the price is before or after subsidy. The PM Surya Ghar refund arrives in your bank after commissioning, so any vendor deducting it upfront is offering credit, not the scheme.
Stop at the size your units justify. The ₹78,000 cap is reached at 3 kW, and every kilowatt above that is paid for entirely by you.
Get the frame specification in writing: section size, galvanising thickness, height above the slab and anchoring method, because Tharad's desert wind and June storms test all four.
Wash panels with soft water, not raw borewell water. Brackish groundwater around Tharad leaves salt on the glass that costs output and damages the coating.
Insist on module and inverter serial numbers on the invoice and warranty registration in your name before the final payment, since out-of-town crews are hard to trace later.
Questions
Solar in Tharad: every question answered.
17 questions Tharad buyers actually search for, including the ones
competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.
Cost & subsidy
What is the solar panel price in Tharad in 2026?
Indicative installed ranges before subsidy are ₹1,25,000 to ₹1,55,000 for 2 kW and ₹1,80,000 to ₹2,25,000 for 3 kW. For 5 kW the range is ₹2,85,000 to ₹3,45,000, and for 10 kW ₹5,20,000 to ₹6,30,000. A taller frame, a long cable run or slab repair moves the figure within the band.
How much is the Tharad solar subsidy under PM Surya Ghar?
Up to ₹78,000 for a residential connection: ₹30,000 a kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third. It is a central scheme, so a house in Tharad gets exactly what a house in Surat gets. UGVCL does not pay it; the ministry transfers it to your bank.
Can a hospital or jewellery shop on Deesa Highway Road claim the subsidy?
No. PM Surya Ghar is limited to residential connections, so hospitals, clinics, jewellery shops and traders' godowns are outside it. They can claim accelerated depreciation on the system instead, which suits a profitable business. Ask your accountant how much of the write-off you can use this year.
Can I get the subsidy for a farmhouse outside Tharad?
Only on the residential meter of the farmhouse, and only up to its sanctioned load. Your agricultural pump connection is a different category and does not qualify for PM Surya Ghar. For pumps, look at PM-KUSUM, which Gujarat runs through GEDA and which has its own application and subsidy rules.
Net metering & DISCOM
Which electricity company supplies Tharad now that it is a district headquarters?
Still UGVCL, Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited. The creation of Vav-Tharad district in 2025 changed the collectorate, not the licensee. Tharad remains in UGVCL's Palanpur Circle. Torrent Power has no licence here, and PGVCL, which serves Kutch across the Rann, does not supply the town.
Which UGVCL office handles a Tharad net-metering file?
The sub-division printed on your bill. UGVCL's Palanpur Circle has listed a Tharad-2 sub-division under Deesa Division 2, and its recent tenders refer to a Tharad Division Office. Town and village connections can sit with different sub-divisions, so we check your bill before filing anything.
Can my rooftop system be larger than my sanctioned load?
No. GERC caps rooftop capacity at your sanctioned load, and UGVCL also checks that the transformer feeding you has spare capacity. If your bill needs a bigger system than your load allows, apply for a load increase first. We tell you during the bill check whether that step is needed.
How long does UGVCL net metering take for a Tharad house?
Plan on three to seven weeks from installation to a sealed bidirectional meter. That covers feasibility, the work-completion report, the meter fitting visit and the electrical inspector. A complete report filed with the right sub-division is what keeps you near the shorter end, whatever office changes the new district brings.
Sizing & performance
What will a 5 kW system generate in Tharad each month?
About 600 to 675 units a month on average. Tharad gets roughly 5.5 peak sun hours, which works out to 4 to 4.5 units per kW per day across the year. Spring months beat that figure, July and August fall short of it, and a dusty array falls short in any month.
What size suits a ₹5,000 monthly UGVCL bill?
A bill in the ₹3,500 to ₹6,000 band usually points to 5 kW, which needs about 500 sq ft of shade-free roof. Read the units rather than the rupees, though. Fixed charges and tariff slabs mean two Tharad homes paying the same amount can need different sizes.
Does Tharad's 46°C summer heat reduce panel output?
Yes, modules lose output as they heat up, and May afternoons here are among the hottest in Gujarat. Mounting the array high enough for air to pass underneath and keeping the inverter off a west wall recovers most of the loss. The strong sun still leaves annual generation near the top of the Indian range.
Will dust from the Rann side cut my generation?
It will if you ignore it. Fine dust from the desert edge and from dry fields settles quickly between March and June, and a thin film costs output you cannot see from the ground. Washing every two to three weeks in those months keeps the loss small.
Installation & service
Can I clean panels with borewell water in Tharad?
Avoid it. Groundwater around Tharad is often brackish, and salty water dries into a white crust that blocks light and wears the anti-reflective coating. Use soft municipal water, stored rainwater or a low-TDS supply, wash early in the morning while the glass is cool, and never use a hard brush.
Do you install on village houses around Dhima, Vav or Rah?
Yes. Our field team covers villages served from the Tharad and Dhima post offices and the other taluka towns of Vav-Tharad district. Village terraces are often older slabs, so the survey checks load-bearing strength first, and long service lines are noted in the feasibility file.
How long does the installation itself take?
Two to four days on site for a home system: frame, modules, inverter, earthing, surge protection and the monitoring link. Most of the wait comes afterwards, when UGVCL fits the meter and the electrical inspector visits. Those two steps together typically run three to seven weeks.
About Heaven Green
Does Heaven Green Energy have an office in Tharad?
No. Our only office is at Mota Varachha in Surat. Tharad is served through our channel partner network and field engineering team, who survey roofs, supervise installation and deal with UGVCL locally. We say this before you sign so nobody arrives expecting a counter in town.
Which panels and inverters does Heaven Green install?
Adani modules only, because we are an authorised channel partner of Adani. Inverters are Qbits, the Heaven Green group's own brand. Keeping both under one accountable chain means a warranty claim from Tharad comes back to us instead of disappearing into a distributor network that has moved on.
