The short answer

In Veraval a 3 kW rooftop solar system costs roughly ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh before subsidy. The ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar credit brings that down to ₹1.02 lakh to ₹1.47 lakh. Each installed kW makes 4 to 4.5 units a day. Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) supplies the town through its Veraval division, which runs the net-metering file. A home system usually earns back its cost in three and a half to five years.

Price, size and savings

Find your bill. Read across.

The table gives Veraval buyers a number before anyone visits. Start with the bill band nearest your last PGVCL bill, then read the row for size, monthly units, roof space, payback and price after subsidy.

Indicative Veraval market ranges, 2026
Your monthly bill System Generates Roof needed Cost after subsidy Payback
Up to ₹1,800 2 kW A small house in the Kolivada lanes running fans, a fridge and a cooler 240–270units/month ~200 sq ft ₹65,000 – ₹95,000 ₹1.25 lakh–₹1.55 lakh before ₹60,000 subsidy 3.5–4.5 years
₹2,000–₹3,500 3 kW Best value A Talala Road family home that wants the whole central subsidy 360–405units/month ~300 sq ft ₹1.02 lakh – ₹1.47 lakh ₹1.80 lakh–₹2.25 lakh before ₹78,000 subsidy 3.5–4.5 years
₹3,500–₹6,000 5 kW A two-storey bungalow in Krishnanagar or Gita Nagar with two ACs 600–675units/month ~500 sq ft ₹2.07 lakh – ₹2.67 lakh ₹2.85 lakh–₹3.45 lakh before ₹78,000 subsidy 4–5 years
₹6,000–₹13,000 10 kW Taluka farmhouses on a home meter, clinics, Somnath guest houses 1,200–1,350units/month 700–1,000 sq ft ₹4.42 lakh – ₹5.52 lakh ₹5.20 lakh–₹6.30 lakh before ₹78,000 subsidy 4–5 years
Above ₹13,000 25 kW+ GIDC seafood units, ice and cold-storage plants, pilgrim hotels 3,000–3,400units/month Site-specific ₹10.75 lakh – ₹13.50 lakh ₹10.75 lakh–₹13.50 lakh, no subsidy 3–4.5 years

These are indicative Veraval market ranges for 2026, not a Heaven Green quotation. They assume Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, a galvanised mounting structure, protection gear and installation. A seafront roof may need a heavier coating or stainless fasteners, which the survey prices separately. Subsidy amounts are the central PM Surya Ghar figures on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Output assumes a shade-free roof facing roughly south. Rooftop solar systems attract 5% GST on the equipment since 22 Sep 2025. A supply-and-install contract taxes 30% of the value as installation service at 18%, so the blended rate on a typical quote is about 8.9%.

Units first, sanctioned load second. The units consumed on your PGVCL bill tell us how much array you need. The sanctioned load, printed a few lines lower, tells us how much the utility will let you connect. The rupee total is the least useful line, because it shifts with slab rates and fuel surcharge month to month.

In the old town, the neighbour's wall decides the yield. Houses inside the old walls near Patan Gate and around Satta Bazar stand shoulder to shoulder. A taller building on the south side can shade a roof for half the afternoon. We measure that on the survey and say so plainly if a roof will underperform, rather than quote units the panels will never make.

The subsidy stops growing at 3 kW. Above that size the central payment stays at ₹78,000, so it covers a large slice of a 3 kW system and a thin one of a 10 kW system. If your bill sits on the border between two sizes, the smaller one usually returns more per rupee.

Ask what the steel is made of. On this coast the panel is rarely the first part to give trouble. The structure, the clamps, the bolts and the junction boxes are. A cheap quote often saves money on exactly those parts, so ask for the coating specification and fastener grade in writing before you compare prices.

Why there is no rupee saving in that table

No rupee saving appears in the table, and that is on purpose. A unit from your roof is worth whatever your own PGVCL tariff charges for it. A domestic meter in Krishnanagar is billed on different terms from a guest house near the Somnath temple or a processing unit at the GIDC estate. Bring the bill to the survey and we will work out the saving against your actual slab, line by line, in front of you. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

₹78,000

Maximum central subsidy for a residential rooftop system.

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
  • Nothing paid above 3 kW
  • Credited directly to your bank account
  • We file the entire claim for you
How the subsidy works

Five steps, and we run four of them.

Veraval households receive exactly the same PM Surya Ghar subsidy as households anywhere else in India. It is a central scheme with no Gujarat or district top-up. What is local is the office that checks the file, and for Veraval and Prabhas Patan that is PGVCL.

1

Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in

You sign up with your PGVCL consumer number, Aadhaar-linked mobile and address. Older houses in the walled town often still carry a grandparent's name on the electricity record, so we check that the name and consumer number match before anything is submitted.

2

PGVCL feasibility check

The local PGVCL sub-division compares your request with your sanctioned load and the transformer that feeds your street. Once feasibility is cleared you select a vendor from the empanelled list, and Heaven Green Energy is on it, so your file links to us without extra forms.

3

Installation after approval, never before

We start work only once feasibility is granted, because a system fitted early can lose the subsidy altogether. The Adani modules we fit carry serial numbers that are recorded on your Bill of Materials and the warranty papers you receive at handover.

4

Inspection and net meter

A PGVCL officer inspects the system and the sub-division fits the bidirectional meter. That generates the commissioning record on the portal. Our engineer is on the roof for the inspection, so any query is settled there and then.

5

Subsidy to your account

We lodge the claim as soon as commissioning is recorded. The central government pays the money straight into your bank account, and it never passes through an installer. If anyone in Veraval offers to collect it on your behalf, take that as a reason to walk away.

If you are a business, this section does not apply

PM Surya Ghar covers residential connections only. A seafood exporter, an ice plant, a hotel near the temple or a shop on Station Road cannot claim it. Businesses claim accelerated depreciation on the solar asset instead, which a profitable firm often values more than the household subsidy. Farm pumps come under a separate route, covered further down.

PGVCL (Paschim Gujarat Vij)

Net metering: who you actually file with.

Get the utility right and the rest of the paperwork follows. In Veraval the utility is PGVCL, and the file is handled inside its Veraval division.

Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL), the GUVNL distribution company for Saurashtra and Kutch, supplies Veraval, Prabhas Patan and the villages of Veraval taluka. Its corporate office is in Rajkot. Gir Somnath district falls wholly inside its licence area. Torrent Power does not operate here, and neither do DGVCL, MGVCL or UGVCL, so any paperwork addressed to them is going to the wrong company.

PGVCL's own customer care and fault centre list places a Veraval division inside its Junagadh circle. Under that division it lists separate sub-divisions for Veraval Town, GIDC Veraval and Prabhas Patan, along with Talala, Pranchi, Ankolwadi and Sutrapada. Which of the three town offices takes your application depends on where your meter sits, and your bill names it. We read it off the bill and file with the right one.

The terms themselves come from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), not from PGVCL and not from any installer. Under the GERC rooftop framework the system is capped against your sanctioned load, and units you export are set off against units you import in the billing cycle. Exports are a credit on the bill, not a cash payment. If you want more panels than your sanctioned load permits, the load increase goes in first.

1

Application to your sub-division

We send consumer details, sanctioned load, the proposed rating, a single-line diagram and the roof layout to your sub-division. That is whichever of Veraval Town, GIDC Veraval or Prabhas Patan holds your connection.

Filed by us
2

Feeder and transformer check

PGVCL checks the local transformer and feeder can take the export, then issues the feasibility approval. Only after that can installation legally begin.

3

Build and test

We fix the structure, mount the modules, earth the system, commission the inverter and upload the test report and completion papers so PGVCL can schedule the meter change.

4

Inspection and bidirectional meter

Our engineer attends the PGVCL inspection. The sub-division then swaps your meter for a bidirectional one, and export credit shows from the next bill.

Solar for Veraval's businesses.

Veraval earns its living from the sea, and its biggest electricity users are the businesses that keep fish cold. Their roofs and their bills behave nothing like a house.

Veraval is one of India's major fishing ports. The catch landed at the harbour feeds a cluster of seafood processing and export units. A large share of them sit on the GIDC estate at Udyognagar on the Somnath Road side. They ship frozen product to buyers in the USA, Japan, the Gulf, South-East Asia and Europe. The bunder also keeps a traditional boat-building trade alive, and the town is home to the Indian Rayon unit of Grasim Industries. Add the hotels and shops serving Somnath temple pilgrims at Prabhas Patan, and commercial load here is heavy, daytime-weighted and steady all year.

Freezing, cold storage and ice work run compressors through the hottest hours of the day, which is precisely when a rooftop array produces most. A processing shed with a large, unshaded roof can carry a sizeable system and cancel a share of that daytime draw. Pilgrim hotels follow suit: air conditioning peaks on the same sunny days that bring visitors.

None of these businesses can claim PM Surya Ghar. They can claim accelerated depreciation on the solar asset, and the project can be structured with zero down payment so the instalment sits close to the saving it funds.

  • Sheet roofs near the harbour need a corrosion check of the purlins before anything is bolted to them.
  • Units with wet floors and wash-down areas need cable runs and inverters kept clear of spray and drainage.
  • Sizing is capped by sanctioned load, so a load increase may need to go to the GIDC Veraval sub-division first.

For the farms of Veraval taluka, the rule is different again. Gujarat split agricultural feeders from village feeders under the Jyotigram Yojana, and an agricultural pump connection is not a residential connection, so PM Surya Ghar does not apply to it. Solar pumps run through the state's PM-KUSUM route instead; our PM-KUSUM page and the Gujarat KUSUM and GEDA guide explain how it works. A farmhouse with its own domestic meter is a residential connection and is handled like any home.

Why us

Why Veraval homes and businesses choose Heaven Green Energy

We have installed since 2017 and passed 10,000 installations across Gujarat. That record only matters if it changes what happens on your roof, so here is what it means for Veraval.

PGVCL paperwork stays with usApplication, feasibility, test report, inspection and meter follow-up are our job. You do not have to learn which Veraval sub-division wants which form.
Adani modules and Qbits invertersWe are an authorised channel partner of Adani for modules, and the inverters are Qbits, made by our own group. Both carry serial numbers on your paperwork, so a warranty claim has a clear owner.
Coastal specification in writingStructure coating, fastener grade, cable and earthing are listed on a written Bill of Materials. In a salt-air town that sheet is what separates a system that lasts from one that rusts.
Free survey, no advanceAn engineer checks the roof, shade, slab or sheet and the bill before any price is final. You pay nothing to start.

Where we are based

Heaven Green Energy is headquartered at Mota Varachha, Surat, and that is our only office. We serve Veraval, Prabhas Patan and the wider Saurashtra region through our channel partner network and field engineering team. They carry out the surveys, supervise installation and handle PGVCL coordination on the ground. There is no Heaven Green branch, address or local phone number in Veraval or anywhere in Gir Somnath district, and we tell you that before you sign rather than after.

How we work

From first call to a spinning net meter.

It takes four steps to get from a phone call to the first export credit on your PGVCL bill. The durations below are typical for Veraval, not guarantees.

01

Bill check by phone

We read the units, tariff category and sanctioned load from your PGVCL bill and give an indicative size and price band before anyone travels.

How the Veraval coast treats a solar system

Veraval's weather is good for output and hard on metal. The sea keeps summer days milder than inland Saurashtra, but it also loads the air with salt and moisture for most of the year. IMD normals for the Veraval observatory, 1991 to 2020, show three conditions that shape the design.

Salt in humid air, most of the year

Evening relative humidity at the Veraval observatory averages 71% across the year, climbing from 70% in March to 85% in August. That damp, salty air settles on every exposed surface. Bare or thinly coated steel rusts, mixed metals corrode where they touch, and junction boxes draw moisture. On roofs near the bunder and the Kolivada lanes we specify hot-dip galvanised structure, stainless or coated fasteners, sealed glands and a rinse with fresh water in the cleaning plan.

Milder heat than inland, still worth designing for

The average May high at Veraval is about 33°C, well below the inland towns of Saurashtra, and that is good news because modules lose output as they heat up. The record is still 44.2°C, set in May, and October highs average about 34°C once the monsoon clears. We leave airflow under the panels and fit the inverter in shade, out of direct afternoon sun and salt spray.

A short, heavy monsoon and cyclone exposure

Veraval averages about 877 mm of rain a year, falling on roughly 32 rain days, and July alone brings around 342 mm. Some years are extreme: 16 July 2009 delivered 503.8 mm in one day. This stretch of coast is also exposed to Arabian Sea cyclones; Cyclone Tauktae came ashore near Diu in May 2021. That calls for anchoring designed for wind uplift, sealed cable entries and earthing that is tested, not assumed.

Questions

Solar in Veraval: every question answered.

17 questions Veraval buyers actually search for, including the ones competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.

Cost & subsidy

What does a rooftop solar system cost in Veraval in 2026?
Roughly ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh for 3 kW before subsidy, or ₹1.02 lakh to ₹1.47 lakh after the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar credit. A 5 kW system is about ₹2.85 lakh to ₹3.45 lakh before subsidy. These are indicative market ranges, not a quotation.
How much is the Veraval solar subsidy?
Up to ₹78,000 for a home. The central scheme pays ₹30,000 per kW for the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, then nothing more. The amount is the same in Veraval as everywhere else in India, and it applies to residential connections only.
Does a coastal roof in Veraval cost more to fit?
Sometimes. A roof within salt-spray reach of the bunder or Kolivada may need a heavier galvanised coating, stainless fasteners and better-sealed boxes, which adds to the structure cost. The survey decides it, and the extra is listed line by line on the Bill of Materials.
Can a GIDC seafood unit in Veraval go solar with no down payment?
Yes, through financing. The instalment is set close to the electricity cost the system removes, and the firm claims accelerated depreciation because PM Surya Ghar does not cover business connections. Bring a year of PGVCL bills and we will lay out both cash flows.

Net metering & DISCOM

Which company handles PGVCL net metering in Veraval?
Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited, PGVCL. Veraval sits in its Veraval division under the Junagadh circle. Torrent Power, DGVCL, MGVCL and UGVCL do not supply Gir Somnath district, so the application goes to PGVCL and nobody else.
Which PGVCL office will take my application?
It depends on where your meter sits. PGVCL lists Veraval Town, GIDC Veraval and Prabhas Patan as separate sub-divisions in the Veraval division. Your bill names the sub-division that serves you, and we file with that office on your behalf.
How does net metering work on a Veraval rooftop?
A bidirectional meter replaces your old one. Units exported in the day are set off against units imported at night within the billing cycle, so you pay for net use. The terms come from GERC, the state regulator, not from PGVCL or your installer.
How long does PGVCL approval take in Veraval?
Usually two to five weeks from application to feasibility approval, followed by the inspection and meter change once the system is built. The variable is the sub-division's queue. We file it, chase it and tell you where it is held up.

Sizing & performance

How much electricity will rooftop solar produce in Veraval?
About 4 to 4.5 units per installed kW per day, on roughly 5.5 peak sun hours. A 3 kW system makes 360 to 405 units a month and a 5 kW system 600 to 675. Output dips in July and August, when cloud and rain are heaviest.
Will sea air in Veraval damage the panels?
The glass copes well. The risk lies in the structure, bolts, clamps and junction boxes, which corrode in damp, salty air if the coating is thin or metals are mixed. Specify hot-dip galvanising and stainless fasteners, and rinse the array with fresh water during cleaning.
What size system suits my Veraval electricity bill?
As a rough guide, 2 kW suits bills up to ₹1,800 a month and 3 kW suits ₹2,000 to ₹3,500. A 5 kW system suits ₹3,500 to ₹6,000, and 10 kW suits ₹6,000 to ₹13,000. Above ₹13,000 you are looking at 25 kW or more. Size from units, not rupees.
Can I put solar on my apartment building in Veraval?
Yes, but the roof belongs to the society. In a block on Station Road or Talala Road the system usually goes on the common meter after a society resolution. One flat rarely has enough roof of its own. We help the committee with the PGVCL and portal steps.

Installation & service

How long does installation take in Veraval?
Two to four days on site for a home system once approval arrives. The whole timeline from first call to generation is usually four to eight weeks, and most of that is PGVCL paperwork rather than work on the roof.
Can a farmhouse in Veraval taluka get rooftop solar?
Yes, if it has a domestic meter: then it is a home and PM Surya Ghar applies. An agricultural pump connection on a farm feeder is different and does not qualify. For pumps, the PM-KUSUM route applies, and our PM-KUSUM page explains it.
What happens if a panel or inverter fails?
Modules are Adani, supplied through our channel partnership, and inverters are Qbits from our own group. Serial numbers are recorded on your Bill of Materials, so a warranty claim is traceable. Our field team handles the claim and the replacement.

About Heaven Green

Does Heaven Green Energy have an office in Veraval?
No. Our only office is at Mota Varachha in Surat. Veraval and Gir Somnath are served by our channel partner network and field engineering team, who run surveys, supervise installation and deal with PGVCL. We would rather say that now than have you find out later.
Why choose Heaven Green Energy for solar in Veraval?
Installing since 2017, over 10,000 installations and an authorised channel partner of Adani for modules. Qbits inverters come from our own group, with a written Bill of Materials and coastal-grade structure where the roof needs it. We also file the PGVCL and PM Surya Ghar paperwork ourselves.
