The short answer

Rooftop solar in Bharuch costs roughly ₹52,000 to ₹75,000 per kW installed before subsidy. A 3 kW system runs ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh and falls to ₹1.02 lakh to ₹1.47 lakh after the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy. Each kW yields 4 to 4.5 units a day. DGVCL, Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited, handles net metering here. Payback lands between three and a half and five years.

Price, size and savings

Find your bill. Read across.

Most Bharuch solar pages quote a per-watt figure with no system attached to it. This table does the opposite. Find your monthly bill in the left column and read across for the system size, the units it makes each month and the shadow-free roof it needs. The same row gives the subsidy it earns and the payback period. Nothing here is behind a form.

Indicative Bharuch market ranges, 2026
Your monthly bill System Generates Roof needed Cost after subsidy Payback
Up to ₹1,800 2 kW 1–2 BHK, one AC used sparingly 240–270units/month ~200 sq ft ₹65,000 – ₹95,000 ₹1.25 lakh–₹1.55 lakh before ₹60,000 subsidy 3.5–4.5 years

These are indicative Bharuch market ranges for 2026, covering Tier-1 modules, a branded inverter, galvanised structure, protection and installation. They are not a Heaven Green Energy quotation. Subsidy figures are the central PM Surya Ghar amounts published on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a shadow-free, broadly south-facing roof.

The 3 kW cliff decides most Bharuch orders. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 for each of the first two kilowatts and ₹18,000 for the third, then nothing. So the subsidy covers a third or more of a 3 kW system and around a seventh of a 10 kW one. If your bill sits on the border between 3 kW and 5 kW, the 3 kW machine returns more rupees per rupee spent. You can extend later within your sanctioned load.

A cheap quote is cheap in the steel, not the glass. Galvanising thickness, cable gauge, earthing and surge protection separate the bottom of each band from the top, and none of them show up in a per-watt number. Ask for a written Bill of Materials listing make, model and quantity for every item. Without one, you are comparing two prices that describe different systems.

One warning specific to this city. Bharuch roofs sit downwind of heavy chemical and fertiliser activity, and installers who service Ankleshwar and Dahej plants sometimes reuse an industrial specification on a home, or the reverse. Ask which of the two your quote was written for. A residential array still needs module-level access for cleaning, because soiling here is chemical grime as well as dust.

Why there is no rupee saving in that table

You will notice the table shows no rupee saving. That is deliberate. The rupee figure depends on the slab rate you personally pay DGVCL, which is printed on your own bill and differs between consumers and categories. Guessing it on a web page helps nobody. Bring your last bill to the free survey and we will work the exact number out with you, in front of you. Prefer to work it out yourself first? Put your bill into our solar savings calculator. No phone number required.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

₹78,000

Maximum central subsidy for a residential rooftop system.

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
  • Nothing paid above 3 kW
  • Credited directly to your bank account
  • We file the entire claim for you
How the subsidy works

Five steps, and we run four of them.

PM Surya Ghar is a central scheme, so no city has a bigger subsidy than any other. Anyone advertising a special Bharuch rate is describing something that does not exist. What changes locally is who processes the file, and here that is DGVCL.

1

Register on the National Portal

You register at pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your DGVCL consumer number, mobile, Aadhaar and address. We sit with you for this step. A consumer number that does not match DGVCL's records is the commonest reason a Bharuch application stalls before it starts.

2

Apply for feasibility, then pick a vendor

DGVCL checks your application against your sanctioned load and the local network. You then select an empanelled vendor from the portal list. Heaven Green Energy is empanelled, so we map straight onto your application without a workaround.

3

Install after approval, never before

We supply Adani modules with traceable serial numbers and hand you a Bill of Materials and a warranty schedule at handover. Installing ahead of feasibility approval is how roofs end up generating with no claim attached.

4

Inspection and net meter

DGVCL inspects the installation, then fits the bidirectional meter and issues the commissioning certificate on the portal. Our engineer attends the inspection so queries get answered on the spot rather than by post.

5

Claim and credit

We file the claim once the certificate issues. The government credits the subsidy directly to your bank account. It never passes through us, so treat any Bharuch vendor offering to collect it on your behalf as a warning sign.

If you are a business, this section does not apply

PM Surya Ghar covers residential consumers only. A chemical unit, a trading firm or a clinic registered as a business cannot claim it. Businesses instead claim accelerated depreciation on the asset, which for a taxpaying company frequently returns more than the residential subsidy would have paid.

DGVCL (Dakshin Gujarat Vij)

Net metering: who you actually file with.

This is where rival Bharuch pages get it wrong, and the mistake costs you every export credit you were counting on.

Bharuch is served by Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL), the south Gujarat distribution licensee, headquartered in Surat and running a Bharuch circle office at Maktampur. DGVCL covers seven districts: Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari and Valsad. Gujarat has three other state discoms, and none of them serves you here. MGVCL covers the Vadodara side, PGVCL covers Saurashtra and Kutch, UGVCL covers north Gujarat. Torrent Power is a private licensee in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and part of Surat city, and it has no licence area in Bharuch. Pages that file Bharuch under MGVCL because Vadodara is an hour up NH-48 are pointing you at the wrong utility and the wrong portal.

The commercial terms come from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), not from the discom and not from us. Under the GERC framework, a rooftop system is capped against your sanctioned load, and every consumer category may apply. Surplus units you export earn credit against what you draw at night and through the monsoon. Load enhancement is a separate application, and it is worth doing before sizing if your connection is old and small.

One practical note for Bharuch. Your DGVCL consumer number, the name on the bill and the name on the property papers all have to agree before feasibility clears. Inherited connections and shop-cum-residence meters are the two cases that trip up here, and both are fixable, but fixing them after the panels arrive wastes a month. We check this at the survey.

1

Application

Consumer details, sanctioned load, system rating, single-line diagram and equipment datasheets go to the DGVCL Bharuch circle in one package.

2

Technical feasibility

The discom tests whether your service line and distribution transformer carry the proposed capacity. Oversized systems are rejected here, which is why we size against sanctioned load on the first visit.

3

Installation and inspection

We install and commission. DGVCL then inspects earthing, isolation, protection settings and metering compliance before anything is energised for export.

4

Bidirectional meter

Your existing meter is swapped for a bidirectional net meter and the commissioning certificate issues. Export credits begin from this date, not from the day panels went up.

Not a home?

Solar for Bharuch's businesses.

Running a plant, a warehouse or a clinic rather than a home? The economics change completely, and this page is written for homeowners.

Businesses across GIDC Estate Bharuch, the Dahej PCPIR and SEZ, Vilayat, Saykha, Jhagadia and Palej get no PM Surya Ghar subsidy. They claim accelerated depreciation on the asset instead, which for a taxpaying company often returns more than the residential subsidy would. They can also avoid capital outlay entirely under OPEX or RESCO structures.

We deliver turnkey commercial and industrial EPC across the Bharuch belt, including the neighbouring Ankleshwar estates. The scope covers structural design to wind-load standards, corrosion-aware specification for chemical and coastal exposure, DGVCL registration and long-term operations and maintenance. Our 250 kW system on a Bharuch chemical plant is one of the references below.

  • Dahej PCPIR and Dahej SEZ: petrochemical, LNG and bulk-chemical units with high day load.
  • GIDC Estate Bharuch and Vilayat: process plants running continuous shifts.
  • Jhagadia, Saykha and Palej: mixed chemical, paints and engineering units.
  • Narmadanagar and the fertiliser belt around it.

How we work

From first call to a spinning net meter.

Four steps to a spinning net meter, including the parts that belong to DGVCL rather than to us.

01

Free site survey

We measure shadow-free area, check the slab and parapet, read your sanctioned load and twelve months of DGVCL units, and log shading from tanks, stairwells and neighbouring buildings.

Day 1–2
02

Written proposal

System size, layout, a Bill of Materials with makes and models, generation estimated at Bharuch irradiance, your subsidy and payback. No obligation, and the document is yours to shop around.

Day 3–5
03

Applications and installation

We file on the national portal and with the DGVCL Bharuch circle, then install once feasibility clears. A typical residential roof here takes two to four working days.

Day 5–15
04

Inspection, meter, subsidy

DGVCL inspects, fits the bidirectional meter and issues the commissioning certificate. We then file your claim and the government pays the subsidy into your account.

What Bharuch weather does to a solar system

Bharuch has a tropical savanna climate moderated by the Arabian Sea, with April and May averaging around 40°C and roughly 800 mm of rain arriving between late June and September. Two of those facts change the engineering.

Soiling is chemical, not only dust

Bharuch roofs collect ordinary pre-monsoon dust plus particulate drift from the surrounding chemical, fertiliser and petrochemical belt. That layer is greasier than plain dust and it bonds to glass, so a rinse with a hose does less than owners expect. Clean fortnightly from February to June, with a proper wash rather than a splash. Our AMC covers it.

A short, heavy monsoon

Around 800 mm lands in roughly three months, so rainfall arrives in concentrated bursts rather than a long drizzle. Output drops through July and August, then recovers. This is exactly why net metering beats batteries here. The March to June surplus you export banks as credit against the monsoon shortfall, so we size the system on the annual figure.

Heat derating through April and May

With average highs near 40°C, cell temperature climbs well above ambient and module output falls as it does. Airflow is the fix, meaning genuine clearance between module and terrace so heat escapes underneath. A structure bolted flat to the slab to save steel costs you generation every summer for twenty-five years.

Service area

Areas of Bharuch we install in.

We survey and install across Bharuch city, the Narmada bank and the surrounding talukas. If your area is not named below, it is almost certainly still covered. Send your pin code and we will confirm coverage and a survey slot. Distances here are short, so a survey in the district belt is no harder to arrange than one in the old city.

Questions

Solar in Bharuch: every question answered.

17 questions Bharuch buyers actually search for, including the ones competing pages leave out. Grouped so you can skip to what you need.

Cost & subsidy

What is the cost of solar panel installation in Bharuch in 2026?
Roughly ₹52,000 to ₹75,000 per kW installed before subsidy, with the per-kW rate falling as the system grows. That puts 3 kW at ₹1.80 to ₹2.25 lakh, 5 kW at ₹2.85 to ₹3.45 lakh and 10 kW at ₹5.20 to ₹6.30 lakh. Structure grade and protection specification drive the spread.
What is the price of a 3 kW solar system in Bharuch with subsidy?
Between ₹1.02 lakh and ₹1.47 lakh net, from ₹1.80 to ₹2.25 lakh less the ₹78,000 subsidy. A 3 kW array generates 360 to 405 units a month here, which covers a household using 300 to 400 units. It is the smallest system that still earns the full subsidy.
How much solar subsidy do I get in Bharuch?
Up to ₹78,000. PM Surya Ghar pays ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third, with nothing beyond. So 1 kW earns ₹30,000, 2 kW earns ₹60,000, and 3 kW or larger earns ₹78,000. The government credits it to your bank account directly.
Can I buy solar on EMI or a loan in Bharuch?
Yes. Residential rooftop solar sits under priority-sector lending, so several banks and NBFCs finance it. Most households borrow the pre-subsidy amount, then prepay principal when the subsidy lands. We can introduce financing partners, though pricing their terms against your own bank is the smarter move.

Net metering & DISCOM

Which DISCOM serves Bharuch for rooftop solar?
DGVCL, Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited, which distributes across south Gujarat from Surat and runs a Bharuch circle office at Maktampur. It is not MGVCL, which covers Vadodara, not PGVCL in Saurashtra, not UGVCL in the north, and not Torrent Power, which has no licence area here.
Is net metering available in Bharuch, and what happens to surplus units?
Yes. Under the GERC framework your system may be sized up to your sanctioned load and all consumer categories qualify. Your home uses solar first through the day and exports the surplus to DGVCL as credit. That credit offsets what you draw at night and through the July to August monsoon dip.
How long does DGVCL net metering take in Bharuch?
Several weeks from application to installed bidirectional meter, covering feasibility, post-installation inspection and the meter swap. Installation itself is only days of that. The discom-controlled steps set the pace and no installer can compress them, so treat a guaranteed one-week net meter as a warning sign.
Do I need DGVCL approval before installing solar in Bharuch?
Yes, for any grid-connected system, which is nearly everyone. The order runs application, feasibility approval, installation, then inspection and meter. Installing first is how roofs end up generating with no export credit, and how oversized systems get rejected after the money is spent.

Sizing & performance

How many units does 1 kW of solar generate per day in Bharuch?
About 4 to 4.5 units daily, averaged across a full year. Bharuch gets roughly 5.5 peak sun hours, which is near the top of the Indian range. Output beats the average from February to May and falls below it in July and August. Annually, expect 1,460 to 1,640 units per kW.
What size solar system does a 2 BHK or 3 BHK home in Bharuch need?
A 2 BHK usually needs 2 to 3 kW and a 3 BHK 3 to 5 kW, but size against consumption rather than floor plan. Take the units from twelve months of DGVCL bills and choose the system that covers your average month rather than your worst one. Two identical flats in Bholav can differ by a factor of three depending on how many air conditioners run through April.
How many ACs can a 3 kW or 5 kW solar system run in Bharuch?
A 1.5-ton split AC draws 1.2 to 1.5 units an hour while the compressor runs. A 3 kW system making 12 to 13.5 units a day supports one AC through the day plus normal household load. Two ACs through a Bharuch April needs 5 kW. At night you draw grid units against banked credit.
How much roof area do I need for solar in Bharuch?
About 90 to 100 sq ft of genuinely shadow-free area per kW, so roughly 300 sq ft for 3 kW and 500 sq ft for 5 kW. Shadow-free is the operative word. A water tank or a neighbouring parapet shading the array two hours a day costs real output every year.

Installation & service

How long does solar installation take in Bharuch?
Two to four days on a typical residential roof. The whole process, from survey and proposal through the portal and DGVCL applications to inspection and the net meter, runs several weeks, with the discom-controlled steps as the variable. We give you a date range at proposal stage and name exactly which steps are ours and which are DGVCL's.
What maintenance do solar panels need in Bharuch?
Mainly cleaning, and more of it than inland cities need. Dust plus particulate drift from the surrounding chemical and fertiliser belt builds a film that cuts output with no visible fault. Wash fortnightly from February to June, less through the monsoon, and check earthing, fasteners and connections twice a year. Our annual maintenance contract covers the cleaning schedule and the electrical checks together, which matters more here than in a drier, cleaner city.
Can I add panels to my Bharuch system later?
Usually yes, within two limits: your inverter capacity and your DGVCL sanctioned load. Tell us at survey stage if you expect to expand, and we will specify an inverter with headroom and lay the structure out for it. Going past sanctioned load needs a load-enhancement application first.
